Sandfield Plains (Everyone Else)

Lewis slams into the Cacnea forcefully enough that it can't position itself to spike him again. Or maybe it does and he's just too angry to notice. Either way, it gets smashed into the hedge, which opens up and swallows the cactus just as it had the other Pokemon.

It might be noticeable that despite the maneuvering and repositioning, missed attacks, and assorted other detritus from the fight, the grassy pathway looks as pristine as it did when you first arrived.

Lewis was hurting all over. It sucked, but it was part of the job. Out of nowhere the eevee realized he'd dropped the quick sketch of Virgil getting stung. He walked over to the bloodstain drawing and dusted it off before he put it away in the pack.

"Do you think the Joltik ran into so many ferals?"

Now that was a scary thought. Everyone was too worn out to continue safely, but how could they forgive themselves if anything happened to the joltik?

"Do any of you have any medicine to spare? If so, we should pass it to the Mawile, the Spoink, the Cubone, then me, in that order. I mean, if that's alright with whoever has the meds

Virgil does a quick check through his pack, "I have some water....It might tide us over for long enough." He does a quick count. "One for each of us if we keep going." He still sounds worried.
 He tries to smooth down his fur where the Cacnea stung him. It doesn't quite hide the unsightly swelling, no matter how he worried it.

Kyria stumbles over. "I could use something... we can't leave until we at least find the Joltik, so we need to stay healthy". She moves over to Virgil to inspect the wound, unsure of how to deal with it but she was curious. "You shouldn't charge into the front like that, i can't guarentee you'll be okay if you do that." Kyria says as she puts aside her own pain, for the moment.

Virgil wrinkles his nose at the pungent herbs. And is a little surprised Eevee could down it all without gagging. He'd stick to water for now. And it looked like he would need it. He tries to play off the injury and hands a bottle of water to Kyria while he imbibes one himself, "Well I just had too. You were taking a beating and I...there were so many of them. Besides it doesn't hurt too badly...just made my coat unsightly."

With all the ferals running about, Virgil isn't sure how to go about exploring the dungeon. When he'd explored with Kryia, everything had gone more smoothly. "We just have to be careful. And not get surrounded again."

"Yes, Mawile, you and Cubone are easily our greatest assets in combat. That's why Cubone should hang back so she can fend off any ambushes in the rear but still provide support by disabling frontward assailants from a distance, and you should stay one step from the front so I can spot the traps before we run into them or I can fall into them so that you aren't kept out of the fight where we need you."

Lewis said that with more conviction than he actually felt. It felt like every piece of input he threw into this outing had lead to misfortune. Sure, logically he felt that his arrangement was best, but emotionally he felt the same thing about the right-paw method, and look where that landed them: combat force in shambles and licking their wounds, while some poor sod was lost in a mystery dungeon.

After asserting his plan for the last time, he spotted the spoink next to the powerhouse.It was distressing to see him worry over the bump even now. Come to think of it, someone with his vanity could probably use a bit of pampering.

"Hey Spoink, I noticed you've been fussing over that patch in your fur where the sting hit. I don't like to brag, but I'm something of a stylist. Maybe I could give you a good once over before we head back down the trail?"

Perhaps out of eagerness to reward his new ally's bravery, perhaps out of a need to feel like he was contributing something to this effort, Lewis was already breaking out the tools of his third ancillary trade. he stood before the pretty pearl passing piggy with a brush in his mouth and a polishing rag over his right shoulder.

Kyria scratches her head, not recalling many wild pokemon. "We've only fought one wild pokemon where we're from and on our way here, but I have had my fair share of fights back at home. I've never imagined fighting so many wild pokemon though, its a thrill!" she looks as the Eevee pulls out a brush. "uhh, can that wait for another time? we should find the joltik, before it gets itself seriously hurt, or worse." Kyria starts to spin and dance, to keep herself active and stretched. She was very graceful.

What grooming? Now? But Virgil hadn't prepared at all! And Eevee surely didn't know the proper way to smooth his fur out. And what if it ended up looking worse than before? And what if? Fortunately Virgil is spared from any of these weighty problems a small one, reality.

The girls seemed to think it wasn't a good idea to tidy up in a dungeon. Virgil suddenly doesn't find the idea quite so appealing. What if some mon came up on them while they weren't expecting it. "I guess you're right...I guess traveling like that would be fine." He sounds a bit worried, partly from the ferals.

He almost sets out when Eevee stuffs a cookie in his hands. He had forgotten all about them in the excitement to get moving. Now was as good a time as any for a mid trek snack. "Thanks Eevee." He wastes little time in chowing down. Time to continue....hopefully they could find Joltik soon.

"Okay guys, this one didn't work out, anyone else want to take over choosing the route?" The inexperienced Eevee was growing tired of feeling foolish. Then he recalled the Cubone's question.

"And no Ma'am, ferals are usually extremely rare. I'm not sure what's going on, but I doubt it's something good. We probably should really hurry up"
