Kyria looks over at the group, after inspecting her own map. "Hold on a minute, im going to try something" She looks at the wall, spinning to hit the wall with her sword, hoping to cleave a path for the group to go through, her jaws trailing behind in the spin, perhaps to clean up any residue. She didn't know how well it would work, but it was worth a shot, right? "Lets see if i can give us a shortcut... and not cause the dungeon to get angry with us".

On the plus side, the dungeon does not seem to immediately get angry with Kyria's attack. On the minus side, her sword glances off the hedge wall as if it were made of steel and not plants, leaving her jaws to slam into the wall painfully, to no greater effect. Apparently cutting through the walls is not as easy as it might have seemed. OOCRock Smash is actually AC2, but you did indeed just miss a wall. |

Well that path had been a bust. And Kyria's plan to break through a wall didn't help matters either. "Maybe we should just go around." Virgil says innocently as he notes the Mawile tense up again. "That wall is just too tough to spend all day trying to chop it down." It was hard to keep track of time in the dungeon and he didn't want to miss out on any more of the fair. "Maybe we just loop around and go South?"

Melanie sighs as Mawile's sword entirely fails to even dent the hedge. Not entirely unexpected, considering the bizarre behavior it's displayed so far. If she lets herself think about it too much, mystery dungeons are very unsettling. "Spoink's right. Let's just get going. We've spent enough time here."

Kyria groans, being repelled by the wall, that hurt, might even bruise. "I guess, it was worth a shot, maybe i'll try again later." She regains her composure and looks over. "Either way, i feel we should go to the path on the other side of this hedge, next". Her jaws look around at everyone as she remains facing the wall.

Virgil shrugs. "If you think it's best...Lead the way," he wavers without sarcasm. Kyria might be impulsive but sometimes it was easier to bend than to try and turn her.

After the failure with the wall, Kyria's next flash of insight turns out to be slightly more accurate. What at first appears to be a small depression in the ground turns out to be a vertical tunnel, criss-crossed with vines and branches. It looks a rather perilous climb, but it seems the 'stairs' have been found.

Melanie taps her club against the ground at the edge of the hole. "Looks like you were right, Mawile." Since Eevee's been calling most of the shots so far, rookie or not, she glances over at him. "Shall we? Probably nothing else on this floor."

Lewis wasn't expecting to become de facto leader, especially seeing as his ideas were not going especially well. The eevee jumped at the vine ladder and slid down, regretting it about halfway through. His paws burned from the friction and he landed on his haunches hard. Baby steps, right?

As Lewis begins making his way down, his Explorer Gadget chimes. "Other Explorers navigating this dungeon have been detected. If you would like to synchronise your group with another group, please select their spatiotemporal frequency from the list provided." The voice rather stammers through 'spatiotemporal,' as if whoever recorded these clips was reading from a script that they didn't themselves understand.
If you look at your Gadgets - even the people who have not yet entered the stairs - you can see a list with two options has appeared. The first, marked by a gold star, reads '6-4-012.048.012.052.027.012.038.017.016.' The second, which does not have a star, reads '9-6-167.357.037.192.'

Lewis, with his limited technical know-how assumed that the star was his current group. This was not good...or was it? He should talk this out with his group once they make it down the tunnel. Where were they, anyway?

As Lewis wonders where she is, kyria gracefully lands beside him looking satisfied with her decent, should they still be in the same group. "Wonder who else is here, think it could be the joltik?" She stretches waiting for the others, and keeping watch for any hostiles while they waited.

Melanie is quite probably the last one down the 'stairs'. She's not exactly the most agile sort, so clambering down the vines is a bit of a trial, though she manages even if she winds up having to use her bone in unorthodox ways to help her in a couple of places. Finally, she drops heavily onto the ground so that she can examine her own chiming gadget. She's... pretty much entirely mystified. She thinks she might have a vague idea of what 'spatiotemporal coordinates' means. Maybe. But as to who or what the ones on the list correspond to... Virgil takes the hop between floors careful and lands with a bounce before being startled by the device's new announcement. He has the same question as everyone else. Who was on the floor with them? The string of numbers didn't really interest him other than what they stood for. He thought the gold star had to be them but it wasn't a sure thing. "Do you think we should sync to one of the groups? Then we'd be able to figure out who it was right...." He doesn't sound all that sure himself. Plus who knew if Joltik even had an Explorer's Gadget?
He takes a look around. No need to throw caution to the wind completely. Even if it was Simisear's group, they might have missed some ferals.

And with that the amateur explorer started fiddling with his gear pressing buttons until "join 6-4-012.048.012.052.027.012.038.017.016." happened.

As Lewis fiddles with his Exploration Gadget, it beeps before the voice cuts in again. "You may experience minor space-time dislocation during this process. Would you like to continue?" As you might expect, Lewis's Gadget now has a yes/no box showing.
So does everyone else's Gadgets.

Lewis blocked out the dissenting opinions, reasonable as they may be. Maybe Melanie's deference to him had gotten to his head, maybe he just wanted to make up for his previous errors with a strong move in (what he felt) was the right direction. Regardless of motivation, he slammed his paw down on what he hoped to Goat was the "yes" button

As the voice echoes out of all your Gadgets, the vines of the Dungeon start to move again. And this time they don't get repulsed by your Gadgets, twisting between the four of you and separating you from each others' view.
