They were being closed on from both sides. Kyria and the Cubone weren't looking so good. But the group in front of them was pretty grouped. I'm going to regret this. Virgil takes deep breathe, coils his spring, and bounces almost straight into the air. He lands just on the the other side of the Fletchling with just a single bounce to break his fall. And then he speaks and let's loose a bit of fey energy, causing the air to shimmer around him, "There's no need to stay. You can go. They won't need you." Shift: Activate Splash to Jump up and up and up and then down. From C13 to C9 Swift: Inspired Training Free: Activate Cute Necklace for an additional 2 evasion for 1 round.

Lewis might've been in a bad way if the deerling had gotten his hit in. Virgil bounces clean over the line of wild Pokemon, despite the best efforts of the Fletchling to peck him as he goes, and his fae energy ripples through the ferals. The Lickitung and Fletchling succumb to it at once and are drawn down into the grasses, but the Deerling remains on its feet - until, that is, Lewis slams into it brutally, sending the fawn across the path and into the hedge, which opens around it as if swallowing it before rustling shut again. There is a moment of peace. And then, from behind you, almost forgotten about, a jolt of energy arcs into Kyria from behind, sparks crackling across the Mawile's form. Besides the Tynamo that had just unleashed that attack, the Cacnea takes in the situation and begins to puff itself up. The little Mime Jr, meanwhile, apparently decides it liked the look of Melanie's attack and bobs over to the nearby hedge, breaking off a branch that obligingly stretches out for it before running towards Virgil and taking a swing at the Spoink. OOCLickitung takes an Injury and Faints. Fletchling takes 2 Injuries and Faints. Deerling 1 takes 3 Injuries and Faints.

Spoink's leap over the main part of the battle and subsequent takedown of two of the most dangerous foes left standing is quite impressive, especially when Lewis follows it up by neatly dodging the Deerling's attack and ramming it into the hedge. Watching the dungeon outright swallow so many Pokémon in such a short span of time is rather unsettling, though, or it would be if she had time to think about it. Which she doesn't. Unfortunately the field is rapidly narrowing, and largely to enemies that Melanie can't attack directly very well. Luckily, she has other options. The remaining Deerling is the most urgent target for her at the moment; she doesn't want to give it a chance to hit her while she's focused on something else like she did with the Pidove. She begins a new chant, involving much twirling of her staff in intricate, almost random motions. Trying to follow it would quickly prove dizzying. "Caligo, caligo!" Melanie isn't exactly a large Pokémon, but chanting in her low voice, with her beads rattling as she makes feinting advances toward the Deerling, makes for quite a menacing sound. The Deerling seems almost hypnotised by a mixture of the eerie rattling and the twirling patterns Melanie makes in the air with her staff - so hypnotised that it doesn't seem to realise it's being backed into the hedge as the Cubone advances on it. It notices when the hedge lashes out with thorned vines, though, and yelps in pain. OOCDeerling can't pass against the Terrorize. "Oof" That Mime could pack a punch. Virgil was buffeted but stayed rather healthy. He wasn't happy about the ruffling of his fur though. The air shimmers once more as he sees the Mime Jr. put rightfully in its place or at least down a few pegs. "Hey! I worked hard getting this coat clean!"He also notes the beating that Kyria took when she doesn't move. She'd been snapping all over the place earlier He drops his more formal demeanor, and hops over to check on her, "K-Kyria are you ok?" The little pink Pokemon hardly seems to notice Vigil's fae magic. But after being bowled through the air by an angry Eevee, it notices it nonetheless, and topples to the ground. Despite the numbers being against them at this point, the Tynamo and Cacnea apparently think that they've spent so long getting here they might as well fight now that they are, because the Cacnea hurls a thorn at Virgil as the Spoink bounces on down while the Tynamo continues its assault on Kyria...or at least in Kyria's approximate direction OOCMime Jr takes an Injury and Faints.

With the Deerling at least somewhat less threatening, at least for now, Melanie turns her attention to the two Pokémon that have been trailing them all this time. It's almost a shame to take them out when they've finally caught up, but they're much more threatening than the Deerling at this point. She slips around to what now seems to be the main front of the battle, placing herself between the Tynamo and the paralyzed Mawile. "Bones of the earth, answer my call!" She raises her bone staff and points it menacingly at the sparking fish as rocks rise from the grass around her again, circling her just once before firing off at her target. She drops into a low, defensive stance afterward, glowering at the advancing Pokémon. The floating eel-like Pokemon is buffeted by the rocks, but doesn't seem all that injured, crackling aggressively with electricity at Melanie, which would undoubtedly be more intimidating if she could be hurt by electricity. The Deerling, meanwhile, having been apparently shaken out of its stupor by the spiky hedge, charges headlong at the closest target of Kyria. OOCDeerling's Confusion check: pLLZShHn1d20

Kyria was no longer happy, that was obvious from her actions and stance, she throws off the sparks temperarily and glares at Lewis, and then deer. It was about to have a really bad day. Her fangs light up with flames as she dashes around spinning around to try and take a chunk out of the deer, almost missing it, before Lewis runs in and blocks its attempt to dodge, she would grasp it firmly letting go just as Lewis slams into it, their simultaneous combo sending it reeling. Virgil would see she's clearly in alot of pain. Infinity down, a few more to go. For an instant, the Mawile broke free from its static stupor. The two locked eyes for the briefest moment, and their plan was ingrained within moments. Kyria faultered in her spin to snatch the Deerling in her burning maw, and might well have missed her mark, had Lewis not weaved into the mix, disorienting the Deerling. Just in that moment, a steely gray maw turned white hot as it clamped down on the Deerling. Just as she let her mark go, Lewis had already locked onto his victim's center of gravity and bashed headlong into it Lewis saw the poisoned needle fly straight into the Spoink, and almost gagged our of sympathy nausea. he could see the anguish in the poor fab-mon as it held back the urge to vomit. Before Kyria can answer, Virgil feels a sharp sting. What was that? And then his stomach drops. Whatever that Cacnea had done was making him feel...ill. He hops aside as Kyria is pushed into the wall and then shoves past him to snap at the Deerling. Virgil thinks of joining, her but hopes that the Eevee can help cover her. The Cacnea and Tynamo had to go. He shudders a bit as he hops over to the pair of ferals and tries to talk them down too. As it turns out, Lewis' distraction is entirely uneccessary, as Kyria rips into the Deerling with white-hot jaws, leaving the fawn smoking slightly on the floor. Before the grasses can wrap around it to take it away to...wherever it is all these Pokemon are going...Lewis slams into it. There is a nasty crunching sound as his blow lands, and the fawn flops around a little pathetically before being drawn down into the ground. Virgil's words leave the Tynamo struggling to stay up, but still conscious. As the Cacnea tries to drain the Spoink's energy for itself, the electric eel recklessly dives past Virgil and Melanie, crackling with electricity as it charges at Lewis. OOCDeerling takes 4 Injuries and Faints. Deerling takes 2 Injuries and becomes Heavily Injured. Tyanmo takes 2 Injuries. 70gwVwJ61d100

Virgil swings a stubby arm at the Tynamo as it wriggles past. His skin tingles as the Cacnea tries to draw out some of his reserve of energy but the drain is just turned aside by his determination. A fortunate turn since it's poison is still coursing through him. Gotta keep going... He numbly tries to smack the Cacnea, heedless of the spines. Melanie has to think fast. She can see the Tynamo charging full-force at Eevee, cracking with energy... and she can see that Eevee is in no condition to take a blow like that. She takes a wild swing at the Tynamo with her club as it advances... Obsolete:"No you don't!" She shoves Eevee back, putting herself solidly in the way of the Tynamo's charge; she may not be able to draw in and channel electricity like some of her kind, but she can certainly trust her basic nature to ground out the attack harmlessly - which is far better than having it electrocute the injured Eevee. Now:With her wild blow having battered the Tynamo down before it can fully commit to the attack, Melanie can focus on the last opponent standing. Unfortunately, a Cacnea will resist most of the direct attacks she can muster up, even her powerful Bone Club... but she can certainly make it more vulnerable. Still running on the adrenaline that had had her prepared to shove Eevee out of the way, she moves a couple steps toward where Virgil is valiantly resisting the cactuslike Pokémon and launches once more into the chant that conjures ghostly flame to burn her opponents, focusing her power on the Cacnea... and missing abjectly as the flames burn themselves out harmlessly in the grass.
