Chansey gives Eve a look like "Really?! You gonna do me like that?" when she orders Bronzor to use Iron Defense. Well, it's got tricks of its own! It shrinks!
Chansey used Minimize! Evasion goes up by +4 and its size becomes Small.

Eve shrugs in return. She just didn't want to risk murdering the Chansey.
Still, Eve figures she'll try for capture now. She waits for Bronzor to try and confuse the Chansey before carefully lobbing a Pokeball.

Eve saw the Pidove and remembered a comic about it! Well, about a Pidgey, technically. On impulse, she Hyper Beamed the poor pidgeon.

Pidove...moves out of the way with Detect! It chirps in a mixture of fright and anger and quickly flies over to give this human a piece of its mind!

Eve spots.. a Tangela hiding at the edge of a copse of trees. Those are really rare outside of the Safari Zone or the deepest parts of forests. Could be rare enough to snag an Eevee in trade?

Rare enough for a trade or rare enough for Kaeda to be fond of it. From what Eve noticed of her collection, Kaeda seemed to be fond of the rare mons. Either way, it was a win-win for her. She rummaged around for her balls and tried for a hail mary capture!

Eve attempts to run after it but trips over her own broke Pokeball! She grumbles as she stands up, picking up the broken ball as she does so. Kaeda was good with balls from what she'd seen, so maybe she would be able to do something with the broken tool.
