Clay twirls his staff as Tavi rears up on his hind legs to draw his seamitars. The two long, razor-sharp shells clash together as he crosses them.

Brenda tosses her ball, and out pops the little sun lizard from last time. It's frills flare outward as it causes the sunlight to grow more intense.

Clay squints his eyes as the setting sun glares brighter, making the thin air heat up around them. "Ugh, great. Maybe I shoulda asked Calli to teach somebody to make rain..."
He takes a deep breath, focusing his energy on Tavi. Brenda doesn't seem to be going for him right away, so he has a moment to prepare. His aura shines into visibility around his head, glowing blue - strongest right at that "third eye" spot on his forehead, and Tavi's brow starts to shine with the same light. "You go right, I'll go left. Try and douse that lizard!"
Clay bounds forward at an angle, off toward Brenda's side to close in on her while making sure she can't hit him and Tavi both in one swing like she did last time. Meanwhile, Tavi breaks north and barks - and the bark itself carries his attack, a pulse of sound and water directed at the lizard.
Clay channels Tavi. Clay binds Spirit Bond! Tavi gains +6 bonus damage on Special Attacks. Clay uses Splash! +2 Evasion until end of his next turn.
Tavi uses Water Pulse on Heather! AC 2 vs izufTt8u1d20, Confuse 17+ 2d8+37 Special Water damage
Clay calls out to Tavi, "Stay on your toes! Get ready for her!"
At the beginning of next round, Clay uses Agility Orders as a priority swift action. Tavi's Initiative increases to 21.1d20·2d8+37

Heather narrowly evades the water blast. Brenda flexes and swings her hammer lightly a few times, as if gauging the distance between her and Clay.
Brenda used Bulk Up. +1 ATK and DEF CS.

Tavi gives a low growl of frustration when Heather evades his attack, but he doesn't close the distance between them - instead he digs his paws in and waits, bracing for an attack.
Tavi declares Revenge! At the end of the round, he will shift and use Revenge.

Heather moves a bit further from Tavi and begins to cover the battlefield in electricity!
Heather used Electric Terrain. The field is Electrified for 5 rounds. While the field is Electrified, Pokemon and Trainers are immune to Sleep, and Electric-Type attacks used by Pokemon and Trainers touching the ground gain a +10 Bonus to Damage Rolls.

Well, that doesn't really look good for Tavi's strategy. But it does mean that Heather is within reach of Clay now. Time for a change in strategy.
Clay bounds over to Heather, rather than Brenda, and lashes out at her with a shattering kick. "Take this!" The ideal, of course, is to take Heather down before she can seriously zap Tavi.

Heather's Chople Berry weakens the Brick Break somewhat and lets it keep going strong. Brenda, of course, is not about to let that slide so easily. Nor pass up the opportunity to tag-team Clay. She moves behind Clay, then leaps high and kicks out at the center of his back.

Well, Tavi was unable to bait Heather into attacking, but he can still take a bit of revenge for Heather's attack on his trainer. He charges at her with his head lowered and slashes at her with the spiny prong of his helmet. "Prepareth to square! I shall heave the gorge on thy livings, naughty mushrump!"

"Yeah! Go, buddy!" Clay's voice is a little weak, mostly from getting kicked in the back of his ribs, but he does his best to encourage Tavi and his incomprehensible battle cries anyway. "Now hit this lizard quick and take her down!"
Tavi takes a cautious step out of Brenda's reach to fire another pulse of water at Heather, hoping to take her out before she can do something unfortunate like, say, zap him with the electric field charging the ground.

Alas, Tavi's Water Pulse has no such luck. It misses quite spectacularly. Heather takes full advantage of this and finally zaps the Samurott, after taking a step back from Clay. Brenda issues Brutal Orders as a Swift Action.

Clay's turn to finally go in for a strike. He decides to be showy. He backflips right over Brenda's head to land on her other side, and brings his new staff into play as he goes into a technique his Infernape family favors - hitting her with every body part he can manage at once, swinging the staff from one end to the other, striking with a free hand, lashing out with a kick, in a furious volley of attacks.

Brenda ducks down as Clay leaps over her head, twisting and turning to avoid his staff strikes and other flailing limbs. She shifts over slightly and spins her hammer first into Clay's shoulder, and then into Tavi's chest. She deliberately overextends her reach to cause self-harm, as Clay vaguely recalls her doing previously.
Immediately prior to attack resolution: Push it to the Limit. Brenda gains 1 Injury and doubles the effects of Lessons in Rage & Pain (Intimidate Rank + # of Injuries added to damage of Weapon and Berserker Moves).
Thrash AC 4 vs S3NVeouH1d20+1 Smite. Spent AP. Hits all adjacent targets. User becomes Enraged and Confused after damage is dealt. Damage: 5d12+65

Clay springs back away from the whirling hammer... but not far enough. He lands on the ground hard, sounding like he's in serious pain. "Owwww... hell."
Tavi doesn't fare any better. He looks disturbingly still for a moment, though at least he's still breathing. After a moment, groaning in pain, Clay recalls him. "Nngh... you could hurt somebody swinging that thing around. C'mon, Flower, let's fix her up."
He sends out Flower, and the Lampent floats onto the field serenely, little yellow eyes roaming from Brenda to Heather.

For all her serene floating, Flower can move surprisingly quickly when she wants to - she drops down, skimming along the ground underneath Heather's thunderbolt, and retaliates with a rush of ghostly fire. Clay is clearly not up to more fighting himself, but he takes a painful breath and centers himself again, projecting his aura to circulate deeper reserves of Flower's strength into her attacks. Clay channels Flower and uses Spirit Boost. Flower's Special Attacks do +6 bonus damage! Flower uses Flame Burst on Heather! AC 2 vs Q9AQG_yy1d202d10+41 Special Fire damage (+6 from Spirit Boost, +5 from Sunny Day) Anyone cardinally adjacent to the target loses 5 hit points. Meanwhile, Baloo stomps out to confront Brenda, staring up at her challengingly. Brenda is tossed to the ground, but quickly leaps to her feet again. Heather needs a bit of time to recharge for another T-bolt, so she zaps Flower with some paralyzing waves.
Thunder Wave cannot miss. Target becomes Paralyzed.
