The Spores float down harmlessly in the air, as Requiem is suddenly several meters closer to the door. "You call what you do freedom?" She retorts. "When you force sentients to do battle for you?"

What was going on? Thoron had expected some more discourse with Requiem as they debated the ethics and consequences of converting Pokemon into consumable products for Arcadians, not... this. This was a disaster! The Magikarp - evidence? - were dissipating before his eyes, Requiem was intent on erasing their memory somehow, the strange creature was fast approaching... what else could go wrong? Of course! Silas returned the woman's hostile sentiment, Soleil didn't return it, and Requiem had somehow transported herself across the room instantaneously. At least his next actions were clear... though that thought didn't bring him any solace. Releasing Lowe beside him, Thoron instructs the Luxio to charge up. Given that the opposing forces were split, if he dispatched his only weapon it would leave him defenseless. Having given Lowe its orders, Thoron looks to Soleil and says, " While I agree, talking is much preferred, we seem to have lost the good grace of our host. If she refuses to allow us to leave unimpeded, much less intact, we must secure an exit by other means.", While he wanted to argue with Requiem as well, he was at a loss for what to say. Why were all her arguments so... so valid? Lowe deployed to Cell M10.
Lowe uses Charge.

"Wooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh." Leslie takes shuffled steps back toward the first room, hands up to indicate her non-aggression. "Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh." She makes it to a spot about halfway between Requiem and Angel before stopping. Releasing Espurr into her own arms with a creeper grin, Leslie makes no attempt to lower her weirdo status in the eyes of her teammates. "If we're playing Pokemon I wanna do it too."
The Espurr noms on her hair. She... Leslie isn't having it do anything, she's just holding it and watching. She looks relaxed and dammit, she just blinked out of sync again, you're not imagining it. Blem-blem-blem-blem-blem-blem....

If Leslie was paying attention to her bracer, she might be surprised to hear a beep and see a flash on the surface, indicating settings had been changed. "Manual Override complete. Ah, it's nice to speak again. Anyways... 'Requiem'. You should realize that this place has been marked for purging. Presuming Technician Floros' comments of you taking control are correct, such tactics will not save you in the long run. And... a warning, Technician Kincaid, any attempt to remove or tamper with this bracer will result in an immediate explosion. As will any signs of treason. So... I really hope that Technician Floros is wrong because I'd rather live. And I'd hope you would, too...""Shut up!" snaps Requiem, before glaring at Leslie. "Ugh. I didn't pay enough attention to you... Now regardless, I'm going to have to abandon here. Start entirely new." There's very visible anger on her face as she rages, before becoming much more calm. Almost tranquil. In a silky tone of voice, she turns to Soleil and Leslie, saying, "You see... they're willing to kill you, rather than let you have your freedom. And they're willing to do the same to anyone who tries to act against them.""Hey, I don't want to kill them, er, you! Don't listen to her!" The voice could come across as fairly pleading, "I'd like to live, Technician Kincaid!" Meanwhile, the glow seems to have suffused virtually the entire fish tank, while Angel just continues calmly taking in the whole situation. Espeon uses Calm Mind. Temporary initiative: Soleil Elgyem Trapinch
Subsequent initiative: Requiem Espeon Soleil Espurr Luxio Leslie Thoron Silas Parasect Elgyem Trapinch

When Silas released Parasect and attacked poor Requiem out of nowhere, Soleil's smile faded and turned into a frown. A male trying to attack and beat on a girl just because she was different? Because she had powers? Because she was 'people like you? People like what? Special? Weird powers they never asked for? Then the other male Thoron released his pokemon and started charging up for an attack. They could have talked their way out of this or worked something out. Requiem wasn't some creepy weirdo or a jerk. She had been nice and complied with their requests. She had shown them the production without any difficulty. She had offered them food. She hadn't attacked anybody with her pokemon or abused her connection with it. And now her teammates were attacking or getting ready to attack her because...uhhh...because she had some telekinesis? Even when Silas had sent a pokemon to attack her she hadn't fought back and had instead once against just retreated with some kinda weird disappeary power. She could turn invisible and run really fast or something? Regardless, she didn't attack back and neither did her pokemon. She was trying to talk to them. And she was right about the freedom thing. Soleil wasn't free. She could fly, she could feel the wind, and she could control the wind to fight. However, despite these beautiful gifts she was chained to the ground. She was unable to take flight and feel the cool breeze far above the ground. She was unable to fly free and touch the clouds. Her 'freedom' only allowed her to do whatever they wanted her to do. She wasn't even free to be herself. Soleil quickly released her Trapinch and opened her mouth to give an order when the P*DA spoke up. She paused for a moment unsure what to do. She had forgotten about the little spy until it had spoken up. Even worse, the threat made her freeze. Despite the hurtful remarks by Silas and his and Thoron's aggression Soleil hadn't been ready to attack them. But she had been intending to try and take out their pokemon so that things could go back to peaceful negotiation. With the P*DA's words, things only got worse. Her belief in her lack of freedom increased, but at the same time the idea of blowing up and dying here was not something she wanted. She would love to be free and find a way to embrace her special talents and death wouldn't allow that. When Requiem speaks up, Soleil hesitates. After P*DA's remarks, Soleil was even more sure that Requiem was right, but what could she do about it? All she could do was maintain the status quo. Help Requiem escape, come up with a reason, but point out they ruined the production and found out how. The fact that the Technicians were holding her hostage even more than the city already did just made things more upsetting. She looked at her pokemon and then at the other pokemon. Would an attack on their pokemon be treason? Technicians were all about fighting pokemon...and if she didn't attack them that was fine right? If people stopped fighting, Soleil could work this out. Right? Maybe? Confusion crossed her face as she tried to figure out what to do. She couldn't use her powers, she didn't have her rifle, she couldn't openly help Mistress Requiem, she couldn't just betray a fellow special person like her, she couldn't do anything. She couldn't even confirm that she felt the same as Requiem did. "Well...I...ummm...Since you have to abandon this, there is no reason to try and fight...Let's ummm talk this over." Soleil said hesitantly. At the very least P*DA's reveal meant her hurting the jerk men wasn't smart or a good idea. That meant that they could leave peacefully and Requiem would have to forget it. Mission success right? The only problem came down to if the Technician Team tried to stop her. Still feeling a strong desire to help Requiem, Soleil hesitantly made her choice. "Treason isn't acceptable...but neither is just beating up a citizen. She knows fighting and stuff won't work. Let's talk this over." She quickly said hoping P*DA wouldn't react negatively to what she was going to do. They couldn't talk this over with Thoron building up some big lightning attack or Silas in his violent anti-special people ways. However, she didn't think any of them used weapons so if they didn't have Pokemon then things would be fine. "Ummm Mistress Requiem, don't try anything either. Trapinch, drop some rocks, break this up, and end this stand-off so we can talk." She finally forced herself to say. She didn't know if she was doing the right thing, but she had to help Mistress Requiem somehow. And letting Silas beat on her with his tripping out lately ways wouldn't do that. Honestly, she would have preferred to knock him out. He had been trigger happy, trippy, and weird ever since seeing Requiem and his presence made things hostile and dangerous. However, she doubted she could explain to P*DA quick enough so she settled for just the Pokemon. First off, Team Soleil is allies (Soleil and Trapinch), rest are "enemies" (though I consider neutral I want to effect with arena trap so nobody is running away and we can all hug talk it out.
Soleil doesn't do anything except release Trapinch to L7.

The Trapinch nodded and opened its mouth and yelled causing weird white rings of portals to open above the area she had indicated. Soleil was surprised when she saw the size of the rocks however. She hadn't been meaning to drop rocks THAT big. Trapinch uses Critical Sheer Force Rock Slide rolled 56 after crit centered in a ranged blast 3 on L9 (or to be specific hit K-M 8-10). Thus hitting Luxio and Parasect. Trapinch also free action Arena Trap. This should effect Requiem, Silas, Thoron, Luxio, Parasect

Silas's mind is a whirlwind of activity, but there's something that takes priority. "Omega. Define 'purged' please?" As much as he'd like to finish this fight, he'd rather not be in a building that's about to explode or get dropped into the Under.

"Subject to investigation, quarantine, and probable deconstruction." "Shut that thing up..." snaps Requiem, as she backs up closer to the door - and away from the falling rocks, pausing only to blow a kiss towards Silas' Parasect. Surprisingly enough, the glimmer in the air seems to have an affect on the insect, causing it to lose much of its energy. After backing up some, the air in front of Requiem seems to shimmer some, almost seeming to become translucent, with a little bit of a purple sheen. ƊƠƦőƤƖƖőƥƙƖőƤƙƚƞƞƖƣƤőƔƝƖƒƣƝƪőƒƤőƝƒƣƘƖőƣƖƔƥƒƟƘƦƝƒƣőƓƝƠƔƜƤŝőƤƖƖƞƚƟƘƝƪőƤƠƝƚƕőơƤƪƔƙƚƔőƖƟƖƣƘƪşØ Once again, Angel doesn't really seem to care too much about what's going on, seemingly content to watch. Meanwhile, in the fishtank, all of the fish have dissolved, save for one... and the bright glow fades as all of the energy is absorbed into that one fish, and it grows. In a matter of mere moments, the only thing left in the tank is a large blue serpent... which hurls itself against the glass, causing a large noise, and a spiderweb of cracks to begin webbing out of the tank... though the glass seems to hold - barely. It doesn't seem to have noticed the obvious, in that the top of the tank is completely open... Requiem uses Lovely Kiss on Parasect, followed by Barrier. Parasect falls Asleep, taking a -3 to the first save check. Espeon uses Calm Mind.

The P*DA's choice of words might have been of greater concern to Thoron if they weren't facing much more immediate threats. In particular, the turquoise Pokemon was still looming, Lowe had sustained heavy injuries - from a teammate, no less! - and to top things off, whatever was going on with the fish tank had resolved itself into a much more alarming problem. While there were undeniably more pressing things to attend to, Thoron couldn't help but ask, " Jensen! Do you not see her numerous hostile Pokemon? What part of 'get rid of' left anything ambiguous? Requiem means to dispose of us all. What foolish sentiment is giving you the notion she still wants to talk?" Even in its present state, though, Lowe should have been able to reach the strange Pokemon, so Thoron ordered that attack carried out. Given the Luxio's injuries, he thought it best to prioritize that target... It wouldn't do to be rendered defenseless in the enemy stronghold. Even if the glass held up... which it probably wouldn't. Thoron uses Dazzling Dervish on Lowe and Focused Training on Lowe, Espurr and Silas (Commander's Voice as Standard, Battle Conductor as Swift). Thoron also shifts to K12.
Lowe shifts to P13 and uses Spark on Turquoise Floaty Pokemon. AC2, Paralyze on 15+ - 11 DB8 (Charged) Physical Electric damage - 56

When the fish tank reacts as it does, Soleil is confused. This wasn't supposed to go like this. Despite, Thoron's words, however, Soleil could tell Requiem still wasn't attacking! In fact none of the pokemon had! It was just intimidation or maybe some covering until she got out! If Requiem was trying to hurt them she'd have thrown attacks at Silas or Thoron, those two probably deserved it after all. But instead all she had done the entire time was try to deal with the Pokemon just like Soleil had been. Despite her desire to help Requiem, however, she couldn't just let the woman run out. She wanted to get this talked out and worked out. After all, if they thought she was hostile they wouldn't just let her walk away. The best way to help Requiem was to work things out! As she chased off Requiem, Soleil reached out to try and grab the woman. "Mistress Requiem wait. Look, get your pokemon to just step away and prove you aren't being hostile!" Soleil stressed. "I get that you are willing to talk and stuff and that they are misinterpreting the get rid of. But help show them! I won't let them hurt you or anything just...if you don't fight them they can't fight you. I think I showed that if they attack I can stop them." Soleil shifts to G8 and attempts to grapple Requiem. "I'm sorry, Soleil," Requiem says, "But they've proved themselves to be beyond convincing. I made mistakes, and I need to salvage what I can. I can't do that under threats of assailants. So, let go of me." She says this last bit rather harshly. And Soleil finds herself attempting (and failing) to grab hold of a squirming Angel, with Requiem giving a small smile from where she suddenly is beside the door. Requiem uses Ally Switch. Soleil's Grapple vs Angel fails. It is soft, though.

"Woooooah, huuuuuh?" She watches Requiem become Angel, but figures out what happened when the woman speaks up behind her. Leslie steps a bit closer to Requiem, inquisitively. "Oh cool, how'd you do thaaaaaat? I wanna do that with Espurr... I could throw her on a bed then swap spots, no need to walk to iiiiit. Wouldn't that be awesome, sleeeeeeping? I think everyone should sleeeep, right Espurr? Yyyeeeeeaaaaaa...."It mewrrrowls at Requiem lazily. "Or is it just yourrrr Pokemon that can do that? So jeeeealous."She glances back and pouts oddly at the Espeon. Espurr delayed acting until Initiative count 10, moving after Leslie (but written so that it flows better narratively).
-Leslie Shifts 2 Squares west to cell C8, carrying Espurr still. -Standard Action Mean Look on Espeon, No Accuracy Check. Espeon is Slowed and Trapped until the end of the encounter. -Swift Action activates Roughneck for 1AP. Espeon suffers -1 Speed CS.
-Espurr Standard Action Yawns at Requiem, No Accuracy Check. Requiem will fall asleep at the end of her next Turn.

As the skirmish progresses, Silas grows frustrated with both Requiem and Soleil. He'd really like to know what kind of mental manipulation was required to get Soleil to trap and attack most of the team. The girl was quite insistent on the 'stay and talk' thing, but that shouldn't provoke an attack. As Requiem teleports across the room and . There's no way yawning at her is going to accomplish anything, so Silas yells a parting shot at the psychic. "If you really want to fix things, go to Promethean. See what those methods really create."
A very kind psychiatrist might try to looks for a reason behind this statement. Perhaps Silas truly cares for his home district and subconsciously hopes that Requiem would be able to fix something. Perhaps he willing to put aside his prejudice and for the slim hope that a different approach would create some true change. That psychiatrist would be wrong. Silas wants her ideals to fail and for the two monsters to go kill each other. With this done, Silas turns his focus back to the current battle. He'll have to leave the cat to Leslie, as he's first in line to deal with the giant serpent. The injuries on the Parasect and Luxio are easy enough to fix, there's just not enough time. He'll have to gamble on a way to get rid of one Pokemon and make the fight more even. He struggles to take two steps toward the green Pokemon while grabbing his Great Ball. He then throws it, somehow managing a perfect throw and hitting the thing dead-on. Silas moves down, down right.

Trapinch looks over at Soleil wondering what it should do next since it didn't get another order. It had dropped rocks just like it was told to! Did it get a snack? Something tasty? However, seeing Soleil was busy with the purple cat, the Trapinch sighed and "ran" over on its stumpy little legs to get Soleil's attention. When it got to Soleil it went to stop, but its momentum made it stagger a few extra steps before turning to look up at her Trapinch Sprint Trapinch shifts to F7 (sprint)

Yawning, Requiem opens the door, and stumbles through. It seems that the Espurr had had some effect after all. On the other side, it looks like she's almost collapsing. Angel, however, is alert, and bounds towards the door, though slower than it was before. It stops partway there, and stares, the jewel on its forehead glowing. With that, the door slams shut, and you can hear the lock engaging. And there isn't a convenient little latch on this side, either. Which makes the next noise rather inconvenient. Because the Gyarados has finally brute forced its way through the top of the tank, sending shards of glass - and a rush of water - down towards the floor. Oh, and a large serpent. That's probably the more pressing matter, as it roars and whips up a whirlwind that buffets the half of the room nearest to it, before it slithers forwards. Or, rather, crashes forwards, glaring at the electric-type near it as it does so, water swiftly beginning to vacate the tank as it does so. Gyarados uses Twister centered on O10. Silas takes 18 Damage. Parasect takes 13 Damage, an injury, and Faints.
Gyarados uses Intimidate on Luxio, for -1 Attack CS. Map

Soleil let out a sight of relief as Requiem escaped. She had helped Requiem! Now she could talk and play and get rewarded! However, she stopped for a moment as she realized that something wasn't right. She still couldn't just let Requiem run away after all. Helping Requiem didn't mean just letting her do what she wanted, it meant doing what was best! And running would just mean she was chased and hunted and couldn't settle down! That would be awful! Soleil quickly realized she needed to pursue Requiem, catch her, and talk her down. Then once she was assured it was fine they could work things out and show it was all a misunderstanding. When the Espeon moved, Soleil moved after it and Requiem. On the upside, if she caught Requiem just girl to girl it should make things easier to talk. Especially since Requiem had weird powers too! She was someone Soleil had something in common with. As such, the young girl was surprised when the door sealed in front of her after she passed the Espeon. Why had she been shut out? Requiem had wanted to talk with her and she had helped keep Requiem safe! Soleil banged on the door, "H-hey! Mistress Requiem? I got locked in!" She called out surprised. Surely Mistress Requiem had just not noticed that her pokemon had shut the door and locked Soleil out. Once she let Requiem know, the nice lady would let her out. "Why did you trap me in here too?!" She quickly asked looking toward the Epseon while speeding up the banging confused. With a deep breath, Soleil quickly put her hand to the door and guided the windy breeze through the cracks to feel for the lock. If she could do what she did to Chris's dresser she should be fine! And this time she didn't even need to worry too much if she broke it since no vials! As she felt with the wind she placed her hand where she felt the lock and sent a powerful burst of wind into the cracks. Between the big scary blue thing attacking and the wind going into the cracks nobody would notice her using her powers, right? They wouldn't hurt her, right? She felt the powerful gust of wind flow into it, more powerful than any wind she had used so far and felt it slice and damage the door. However, she was surprised when it didn't open. How could it have survived? Sure, it was damaged, but that hadn't been enough. She would have to try again and hope that everyone remained distracted. As she took a deep breath to gather up more energy to try again, she sent the wind sense past the crack to feel for Requiem. She would need to know which way she was going once she got out. She quickly looked back at Angel, "Angel, we have to go after Mistress Requiem! Why did you lock us both out? She's by herself!" Soleil moves to A10 btw before doing the air cutter thing in the roll thread

Only barely catching Requiem... disappearing from Soleil's grapple and materializing near the door instead, only to then escape through, Thoron can't hide his irritation at their target escaping. Much less when they still had a raging Gyarados to deal with! It wasn't like Headquarters would accept that this was outside their control, either, would they? No, if they couldn't stop the distribution - and by necessity, the distributor - then it was akin to failing the mission. Of course, the Gyarados... and Lowe too, wouldn't care about that. It would sooner kill them all and not mind the consequences, he was sure. And he didn't much care what Lowe wanted to do, instead ordering, " I don't care how, but try to distract the Gyarados, Lowe." Thoron also decided it would be prudent to back up somewhat: It wouldn't do to be tripped up by the rushing water... and ideally Lowe could manage without incident, too. Thoron uses Focused Training on Lowe, as a Standard Action.
Lowe uses Intimidate and Baby-Doll Eyes on Gyarados. Intimidate (ability), -1 Attack CS Baby-Doll Eyes, -1 Attack CS AC2 - 9
Lowe shifts to N13 and Thoron shifts to J12. Thoron also uses Profile Archive as a Swift Action Interrupt to Archive Requiem, (Former?) Scintilla District Dealer.

Soleil enters Leslie's Stare as she chases down the closed door. Most of the Stare is given to Angel, but when a whole lot of little somethings happen with the crazy girl fumbling with the door, her eyes perk over for just a moment. "So waaaaait, does that mean you're staying with us nowwww?", she asks to the purple mind-y cat-y thing. Leslie crooks her head to look down as she speaks to her Espurr. "Coooooooooooooooooool, riiiight? That means you can plaaaaay with him." She smiles at Angel. The little furball mewls a response and glows before slipping out of Leslie's arms. She lands softly on her tushie and Stares at the other pastel colored psychic feline in the room. If one wonders why Leslie hasn't properly responded to the bomb warning or the giant thrashing water snake-fish... it's because well, the former is not something she can actually effect in a grand sense. As for the latter, that falls into -it's not close to me, so it's not my problem right now-. Not particularly the best of mindsets, but it's her's all the same. -Espurr Delays to Initiative 10 for the rest of the encounter (unless I change my mind). -Espurr Standard Action used Light Screen! Two Blessing activations available amongst all tagged allies (Technicians and their Pokemon, disregarding Soleil and Trapinch). -Shift Action Disengage to cell C9.
-Leslie Standard Action uses Leer (AC 2 Cone Social Friendly) on Angel. 5 on the Accuracy Check.
-If she connects with Leer, Swift Action AP Spent to activate Roughneck to lower Angel's Speed 1 CS.
