Victoria - Adventure Thread (Johto)

She giggles lightly.

"Thanks!"

She thinks for a moment.

"Hey when would be the next good moment I could come over and we could spend some time together?"

"Yeah... I mean it'd be nice... but it'd be a bit of a walk for either of us. Mostly I was just wondering if there was any day outside of Sunday that you were off. So I guess we'll see how it goes. If I can make it back in time for us to actually have time, then we can do during the week. Otherwise I gotta be back next Sunday."

After that, Vicky just kills some time on the phone with Whitney for a while.

Miyako mumbles something unintelligible before managing to lift her head up to speak more clearly. "I'll be fine in a few minutes. Just overloaded my arm a bit too much and shut down half my nervous system by accident." She quips. "Definitely something to fix later." Oh good, she's making jokes. Clearly she's fine.

This is the moment in which the child chimes in. "I'm right here!" She says as she pulls herself up and leans on a tree. "I just ran out of energy to maintain my other form..." She grumbles.

Miyako is nonplussed by the grabbing of her ear, while "unknown child/pinky the bow" glowers at Victoria after freeing herself. Smol child speaks up first. "We were sparring. I grant you that we might have gotten overzealous, but there was no threat to noncombatants."

Miyako picks up from here. "Wild Pokemon have an innate sense of danger. The second we began to fight, they'd have gone to ground to avoid being dragged into it. As for humans? If they were dumb enough to notice us fighting (we weren't exactly subtle) and still come within the danger zone, then that's on them. Their own idiocy would be their downfall."

Smol child scoffs, rolling her eyes. "Oh please. That excuse doesn't work because we're not stupid. Despite what you may wish to believe. For my part, I was perfectly willing to keep things at an ordinary level of destruction. Y'know, the kind that happens all the time when Pokemon start throwing around elemental attacks." She crosses her arms petulantly. "Oh yes, it's fine when Pokemon do it, but as soon as a human gets access to such things, suddenly it's not allowed! Yes, that isn't a double standard at all." She huffs. "In any case, if you want someone to blame for escalating things, then blame miss 'hey, so my arm is also a frikkin' cannon that fires hyper beams and also btw is completely experimental!'." She glares daggers at Miyako, who merely sticks her tongue out before hauling herself up.

"They aren't Hyper Beams, it's a Judgement cannon!" Miyako insists.

"Oh yes, because that's so much better!" Smol Child exclaims, eliciting a groan from Miyako.

"It's not as though this is something I can test just anywhere, you know! This isn't Orre, where there are plenty of vast, empty wastelands for me to fire the cannon in!" Miyako counters.

It's around this time that Gym Leader Morty and several of the League's ACE Operatives show up. Smol Child, for her part, has the grace to look chastened/afraid when they turn up. Miyako just wants to know who the hell these weirdos are. Both of them, along with Victoria, are escorted back to Ecruteak City for questioning about what the hell happened.

Victoria, having already met Morty just yesterday, and also having arrived only after the battle ended, is quickly released once she shares what she knows. She later finds out that Smol Child aka Emiko, was given a formal reprimand and given community service for her part in destroying the local flora. Miyako, on the other hand, is not only not an officially licensed trainer carrying more than two Pokemon, but she also has an unregistered cybernetic limb and unregistered upgrades to her Pokemon. She is detained indefinitely while they work out where the hell she came from.

Morty, surprisingly (or perhaps not so surprisingly) actually takes Victoria's story seriously. His explanation (offered with a shit-eating grin) is that he A) has a knack for knowing when people are lying to his face, and B) he can easily contact Whitney to see if Victoria really did tell her about this; whether or not Whitney has been shown proof yet. He knows Whitney has a tendency to believe any wild and crazy story someone tells her just because it might be true. Oh, and also C) Miyako actually said much the same things as Victoria just did. Not like she was actually trying to hide it. It's just that apparently, nobody else bothered to ask since she never attempted to challenge any Gyms (which requires a Trainer's License and registry to compete in the Silver League Conference).

Morty chuckles. "Well, now I go make a call to Leader Whitney, and we see if she supports your story like I believe she will. Unfortunately, miss Miyako will have to remain in lockup and under guard until we can properly corroborate her story. I suspect this is where you come in. If this 'alternate Ilex' is real, as you both have claimed, then either a Celebi will turn up to reclaim her agent, or you and Miyako will help us to 'see' the alternate Ilex."
