Bugsy's enthusiasm seems to just wither away when Victoria gives up. He understands frustration, but from his perspective, it's like Victoria gave up once he started pulling ahead.
Victoria gains 180 Poke XP.

Bugsy just lets her go. He silently chastises himself for not remembering that despite her many achievements, Victoria is still a "novice" trainer. Whitney/May try to comfort/cheer up Victoria. Tonight seems like a girls night. A time to just go out and party and forget everything for awhile.

Victoria and her girls spend a night on the town, then buckle down for training for the Silver Conference in a couple of months...When it finally rolls around, Vicky is right there with the other nearly 300 other trainers who managed to accrue eight badges. Victoria breezes her way through the preliminaries, her powerful Bug-Types taking on all comers. In truth, it's probably more attributed to the luck of not facing a flying/fire/rock team right away. Not that everybody specializes, mind.
The Top 32 were much harder, however. There was this one "angry" girl that Victoria saw using Pokemon she's never seen/heard of before that pretty much swept her competition with a frigging sheep Pokemon. Not a mareep either, some sort of Normal-Type based on the moves it used. Apparently her name is Moira?
Victoria had the misfortune to wind up facing Moira in their second match within the Top 16. It was brutal. This girl was spouting unintelligible nonsense half the time, but at least Victoria managed to take down that bloody sheep-thing. Wooloo, she called it. It took down Victoria's first Pokemon with ease, forcing her to send out her ace, Liebling, early. Liebling ended up facing this freaky-looking metal bird. Or, well, it's no Skarmory, but apparently they share typing? Corv-something. Liebling did her best, but that thing just wrecked her and barely even looked winded. Victoria tried using Spritzen next, because Steel-Types tend to have weaker special (unless they're Jasmine's...shudder), but it still managed to eke out a victory there. Victoria ended up placing 16th out of 256. Pretty damn good for a rookie trainer using Bug-Types!
