Message! Ouch!
I managed to lose a full contact today as well, so at least we are two : (
Maybe we should find somewhere to train a bit?
I don't think I should go anywhere where there might be fainted pokémon with this thing around... :/
So I'm going to stay at the library for a while. Read somewhere that a cleanse tag might be enough to keep the Keystone safe - trying to figure out how to make one (and where to get paper without the librarian flogging me!).
Oh and good luck if you are going to give it a shot Lavender : )
//Jane Jane put away the pokédex and was just about to continue her studies - but then she realized she might as well try and take advantage of her little stationary time and try some trading. She had seen a forum online for it and she had this extra mothim she wasn't sure what to do with! Worth a shot? She would look for a Buneary or Lopunny - they were known to be tricksy and could probably fit on her team. Also she had always wanted to pull a rabbit out of her hat! Might as well start practising now! FG|vlPvv6d6... Erp no luck there! Maybe P-bay? 6d6 ...! Nope-nope-nope! Definitely not! 6d6...? Oh maybe this was something! 6d6·6d6·6d6

The first offer is a Male Chinchou. Offer #2 is a Male Grovyle. Offer #3 is the Buneary she's looking for!
Accepting Offer #3, Jane sets up a virtual trade to acquire a Male Buneary. It is level 27, Calm, with Cute Charm and Limber.

Another message is sent. Hey. Heading into my battle. Don't worry about the tags too much. I've got tags, and paper to spare. Just try not to get kicked out for paper theft alright? This group doesn't need two troublemakers > Deep breaths. Her heart was pumping loudly in her chest. Sometimes, it was easy to forget how fresh a trainer she really was. It was easy talking a big game, but actually putting the effort to win? That was more variable. Beginner's luck got her this far. Would it hold out again once more? She turns to the Gym Leader, and nervously mutters. "Ok. I t-think I'm ready if you are.

Riley wakes up, groggy. Wha? Is something on my face? ...oh, it's a post-it. Oohh! Riley remembers her recent loss against Atropa, and brushes off the annoying piece of paper without looking at it. Then, she rises from the bed and gets to work on her pokemon- time for some major triage! And Riley certainly doesn't trust the so-so pokecenter staff with her team (unless it's just minor damage). Better to do it herself! After they're looking much, much better than before, all happy and refreshed (and less ghosty), Riley checks her dex and realizes that she's got a thousand unread messages. WOW just got all these messages. Going through them now... after some time... Strange rock!? Jane that's so weird, I'm heading over to the library to take a look at this thing. As for going somewhere to train, I definitely like that idea (I need to work more on my battle strategy). Oh, and GO LAVENDER!! Kick Atropa's butt!! Riley finds the library (feeling out of her element, as she personally never goes to these places of her own accord) and realizes that it's HUGE. Where the heck is Jane... As someone who's definitely had a long day, Riley has no patience and is about to scream the girl's name- then she realizes she's got a pokedex, so maybe that's unnecessary. She sends Jane a quick message to come meet her at the front. YO! I'm here at the front, can you come get me? <3

Yes of course! Jane replies and a few minutes later she's at the front. She looks a bit worse for the wear, but given that her full-contact match was hours ago, not much so. Her expression is a strange mix of worry and wonder. Her backpack is clutched to her chest but she manages to briefly disentangle one arm for a friendly wave. "Oh there you are! Hi Riley!" Jane sounds a bit relieved. At least she would have someone else with her and not just the weird rock and her pokémon! Not really sure how extra people would actually help (unless they were souls to feed the keystone and really - that hardly qualifies as help right?) but it felt good. "I had a nice quiet corner just over here - let's head back there before I show you the thing-y. Eh Keystone I mean!"Once they were back by her stack of books (none whom were missing any pages - yet) Jane brought forth the Odd Keystone and placed it on the table for Riley to look at and poke and so on. "Definitely looks like an Odd Keystone right? Here look at the backside - the tally is twenty. eighty-eight to go if the books are right! Ehm. Not really sure though ... Thoughts?"

It was a bit darker now when Salena got back up. Ow. Ow...
The nurses had done a good job, but she was definitely going to be a feeling a bit out of it for at least a little while. She fumbled for her Pokédex. Messages and- Mr. Fuji? No not that one. The Gastly form of Mr. Fuji floated close by Salena's bed. To her surprise, he was looking good but- Oh. Oooh. Right. She lost. She bit her lip. It was stupid of her to fight Atropa like that. She was better off, off the battle field, not on it. If she had just stayed put, maybe she might have done better but...
At any rate, none of her Pokémon were injured now. They had all gained a few training bruises throughout the day, but by morning they should all be ok. That was enough. Right?
She frowned. No. Not really. But she would make it alright, one way or the other. She stuck out a hand towards Mr. Fuji and rubbed the top of his head idly. "Thanks for keeping an eye on me."
"Gass." He muttered quietly. Salena looked away from his judging, parental eyes.
Ok, so messages.
Looks like the last message wasn't too long ago. Library? Oh, shoot! Salena gets out of bed as quickly as she can manage.
The young girl changes as quickly as she can into street clothes before tearing off towards the library. She must have made fantastic time, as the two other girls were still in the lobby when she arrived. "H-hey! Sorry I'm late. You said you needed a tag, right?"

After cheerful salutations, Riley finds herself being offered the strange stone for inspection. "Hmmm." Riley turns the stone over in her hands. It's solid, but surprisingly light for its looks...does it seem familiar? She could swear it almost sparks a memory, but it's slipping away too quickly... Shaking herself from her thoughts, Riley looks back up at Jane. "Well, your guess is better than mine. It's clearly weird. But if it has to do with a legendary, I'm all for it! Um...as for souls, that's harder. Not sure how I feel about slaughtering a bunch of cute lil' animals in the wild just to meet this spiritomb guy. But maybe we can find souls a different way, like with wandering spirits? We should definitely pay a visit to the tower in Lavender, I think. Speaking of, I haven't heard back from Lavender. Hope she's doing well against Atropa- that girl is a pain to battle. I've already lost twice against her." Riley scowls competitively. "I'm gonna need a hardcore boost to my battle skills to beat this gym!"

Jane is happy to see that Lavender also shows up and so she leads both of them back to her makeshift lair. And there - at the middle of the table - the ominous keystone. "Yes! For that thing. Uh. The Keystone!"

"Yup. I think I know just what to do about that." Salena declares. She takes out a piece of paper, licks it, then immediately adheres it to the side of the odd stone. "There. That should put a stop to any soul stuff while I'm around."
Salena smiles. Briefly. Then she frowns. Then she looks away. "I uh... Didn't do all that hot against Atropa. Did my best but... I guess I still got a bit of training to do."

"Pew!" Jane sighs as Lavender attaches the cleanse tag (well she hoped it was one at least!) to the Keystone. No more worrying about accidentally stealing someones soul. That's a relief!
"I was thinking of a fishing boat or something, but yeah not sure if fish-souls would work." she speculates on the topic of soul-stealing. With a nod at Riley she continues "The Pokémon Towers sounds better though. Maybe we would even be doing a favour by stopping them from haunting the place? Not sure ..."
"Well at the very least maybe they know a bit more about Spiritombs! Right?" she glances as Lavender. "So! Should we try to get there tomorrow and look around a bit? I heard that there's strong pokémon in the Rock Tunnel and we could all use some more training by the sound out it!"
"Oh! Maybe we should visit the Ranch first and see if we can't recruit that Move Tutor we were talking about. I know my pokés would do well with a few extra tricks ... And I have these Acrobatics and Thunder Wave TMs if any of you want to teach them to someone. Did any of you get Ice Beam or Thunder Bolt from the gyms? I've got Wild Charge and Aqua Pulse so maybe we could share those too!"

For her Cute Buneary, Jane is offered an "equally cute" Bunnelby. Same level as Buneary, Female, Curious, with Pickup and Lunchbox.

"Woah, woah, woah. Woah. Hold yer Ponytas." Salena says with a huff. "I think there are some things to discuss first."
"First, I have those two TMs, so feel free to make use of em if you need them. Second, I am totally down for training in Rock Tunnel. And I definitely wouldn't be against visiting the ranch. But I think we need to talk about visiting the tower a lot more."

"Right, Lavender you know the most about the tower of anyone. What's it like? Do you think it'd be useful for soul-searching?" Riley pokes at the cleanse tag and recoils as though shocked. She doesn't like that thing!

"Oh I don't think we meant to just throw the stone into the tower and let it go wild right? We should at least ask first! And I'm not sure if there is any place we can find more information on weird Ghost types then there!" Jane nods, idly watching Riley poke the cleanse tag. Weird. Anyhow! For extra comfort she added "You can hold on to it just if you want to be sure!" It had the tiny bonus that it meant that Jane didn't have to carry around the soul-eating curiosity. Yay!

Salena throws Riley a quick, 'how did you know that' look. Perhaps in the same way that felt she knew Riley, Riley knew a few things about her! Clever girl, she's been doing research!
"That's right. I know quite a bit about the tower. Lavender is more than just a nickname, it's also where I come from! So ah, that's why the whole idea of taking the keystone to the tower worries me."
The young lass grabs one of the study books and leafs around a bit, before turning it to an illustration of some grave yard in Sinnoh. "See, most people think that ghosts haunting place is like, exclusively a bad thing. But it's not! That just means that it's a habitat for ghosts. They feed off the spiritual and emotional energy that emanates in places like this. And that's just like, really cool, you know?"
"That's why I am a bit worried about taking this stone to the tower. It could very easily throw things out of balance and upset the Pokémon that live there. I don't mind holding on to it but..."
She turns her head, addressing her spectral companion. "I don't know. What do you think Mr. Fuji?"

"Oh." Jane sighed, but she understood. Ghost types were pokémon too. She had just hoped that travelling to the tower would be enough to solve this enigma - clearly not. But perhaps it was a piece of the puzzle? While waiting for the gaseous blob to reply to Lavender Jane added. "Perhaps we should just aim to learn as much about Spiritombs as we can at the tower and take it from there?"

"If it was safe to do so without having to worry about something breaking out, that might be an option." Salena said. She paused. "I didn't want to worry you guys, but I don't think that this cleanse tag is as effective as I had hoped. It's definitely working, but I get the feeling that there are already too many souls in the keystone to try to stop the process entirely. If the spirits inside choose to try to manifest, I don't think the tag is going to stop them if they have a source of souls nearby."
She shakes her head, and picks up the stone. "At any rate, it should be safe to handle... I think."

"Oh but if they manifest our pokémon could just smack them around if we really need it right? As long as it just can't steal souls without any effort!" Jane reasoned, not entirely sure how things like this actually worked. "I'm not sure we have an better idea... Maybe we should fix our ranch and then sleep on it?"

Salena raised her finger up to argue that point, but it was a pretty good counter arguement. It's true. If a Pokémon were to manifest to collect souls then they probably could defeat it easily. She nodded quietly. "Ok. I'll think about it. Tomorrow, we head towards the ranch. And after that, Lavender Town will be our best bet!"
She yawned. Man she was tired. It probably wasn't a bad idea to turn in soon...

"Sounds good! Let's meet and have lunch at the ranch; I'll make sure to pilfer some things at breakfast so we can have a little picnic!"
