Nalkeya facepalms. "Woops, did I say 'Salena'? I meant 'Riley'. Sorry, too many new names to learn lately. Your little friend with the glasses and the multi-colored hair? Atropa and I saw her somehow turn all spooky and make Atropa's blade-staff pass through her like nothing. Oh wait, that reminds me: What was your name again, Witchy Wonder?"

"Wait, she can do that? The whole, ghost thing?" Salena thinks. Huh. That would explain the weird vibes coming off of her. She's like a ghost, cause, she can become a ghost. Which is weird. She was definitely going to have to question her about that later extensively. But in the meantime...
"Sorry. You can call me Lavender, or Lav for short." The young witch says with a smile. "Though ah, where is Riley? I think I was supposed to meet her here if I remember correctly."

"Oh, your friend is back at the Gym with Atropa for her rematch. As much fun as it is watching people puzzle their way out of the Trick Room (of which this is one of many 'endpoints'), you still gotta beat her to get to me. When you do, you'll probably understand why people think she's the Gym Leader. But why worry about that now? Stick around, relax, have some fun. Oh, while we're at it, those cookies were pretty good. A tad dry though, may want to work on that."

"Well, you could always try dipping them in the tub water." Salena snerks playfully. "I usually eat them with a glass of milk. It's amazing how much the smoky texture adds to it."
Salena sinks deeper back into the tub and let's out a relaxed laugh. "You don't still happen to have any do you?"

"Ew. That would be nasty. Dipping cookies into hot tub water? Blech. I think I still have most of the cookies back in the office area."

"No worries. I was just a bit curious. You can keep it." Salena sinks back into the hot tub and closes her eyes for a bit. Riley was going to be alright. She could do this. She could do this.
Right?

Riley enthusiastically clutches a fist in front of her. "Yeah!! OH WAIT." she digs in her bag for some berries and pops them into the mouths of her pokemon. "There! Now let's do this, Atropa."

Salena perks up at the sound of a text message hitting her Pokédex. "Sorry, you'll have to excuse me one sec." She pops out of the water and quickly flicks her hands to dry them off. Now that she was out of the pool, she could hear the sounds of battle emanating from throughout the hall. Riley's challenge must be beginning. Eeh! What she still doing in here? She should be watching, or at least cheering her on! Gah! And maybe seeing just what was meant by being able to- No! No time for that! The text message comes first. She opens up the message and- hey! Twas Jane! Salena's response was swift. Yo! Give me a sec, I'll see what I can come up with. Rolling Occult Edu to identify strange rocks! pQTJj3z16d6+3Rolling Pokémon Edu to identify whether it's an item like a Spoink's Gem. Something sort of, important. One could say, key to their existence! 3d6+16d6+3·3d6+1

Salena suspects this odd not-a-rock may be part of an old Sinnoh legend, but her brain doesn't seem to want to recall it just now. Perhaps that's enough to refine Jane's search?

Salena pondered this quietly. This was a toughie. After all of the puzzling today, she wasn't able to solve this one. At least, not yet. She texts back, saying, I am not really sure what that is either, but I think it's got something to do with Sinnoh. I think a friend of friend online might have mentioned something but, I can't remember what it is for the life of me.
Oh! Riley is up battling by the way. Here's hoping for a victory!

Oh thanks! I'll check that lead out.
And good luck Riley! Go win now yeah?! Jane switch her dex from message to search - maybe the local library would have some answers? And if not - it would be a quiet place to search the interwebs! Whenever she found the library (if the city had one! Hopefully it did!) she'll ask the librarian for books on Sinnoh tales and/or rocks. Then she sat down with a frown to go over them all. I really thought I'd knew all this already! Maybe this will refresh my memory? This was exactly the sort of books she spent so much time reading already - heck she recognized over half the titles they had! Oh well. 91Ntjllg6d6 Occult ed try 2! 6d6+2 Occult ed skill monkey reroll if above fails! 2d6 Gen ed! 2d6 Poké ed! 6d6·6d6+2·2d6·2d6

Salena looks at the text and grins. Well! At least she was in the right direction now. She had confidence Jane could figure something out. Now it was time for more important things. The young witch called back over her shoulders towards the other, saying. "Hey, I think I might watch the match a bit if that's alright."
She moved over to the bench and began to put on her clothes. Her original dress was still sopping wet, and so was her hat, but eh. Battles were worth fighting the cold!

Nalkeya gets out with Salena and, in seemingly the blink of an eye is not only dry, but also fully dressed again. Granted, the outfit is still form-fitting and leaves little to the imagination (even without showing off tons of skin), but it's still clothing, so.. yay? She then blindfolds her new friend, explaining that she still can't know where all the hidden passages and such are unless she wants to join the Gym, so she'll escort her back up to the arena where all the fights take place.
A few minutes later, the blindfold is removed, and Salena can see Riley is not doing well. The 'stats' screen shows her down along with 1 of her 4 POkemon. The other two may or may not last much longer, it's hard to say.
~~~
Jane scours the local library for references to this odd-rock and Sinnoh tales. After some serious searching, she discovers that this isn't just an ordinary rock, but an Odd Keystone, which serves as the prison for a Pokemon named "Spiritomb", which is the collection of 108 spirits. The original Spiritomb was made up of 108 souls that performed misdeeds, but many more are known to exist in the world, so who really knows its true origins. The tally marks on the back of it must be how many souls its collected so far. There are currently twenty, so it must need 88 more before it can manifest.
Hmhm uhum aha. Jane pieced together the titbits of information she had. It seemed a bit scary to carry around a prison of souls - but also sorta cool. To be honest, she wasn't sure how to really react. At the very least she needed to know a bit more about how souls were imprisoned! Was it actually *real* souls? Or just fragments? She wasn't really feeling like committing 88 people to unending limbo as their afterlife just like that! "Let's see what the pokédex says about Spiritomb. And its souls!" she started flipping trough her dex and idly considered the logistics of it all. Maybe I could just ask to come along on a fishing boat and trap the souls of the catch? Maybe? Would that even work? Was it right to trap the poor souls of something she was also considering to eat for dinner? Did fish even have souls? So many questions!
Now Jane was thinking of heading back to the Pokécenter to rest a bit but when she thought about it that started to seem like a bad idea. With a capital BAD! No that wouldn't work. Like it or not, she started to feel a little out of her depth. Luckily she had just met some people that might be able to help her out! She flipped up her Pokédex and sent another message then found a comfy corner to sit down and wait in. Maybe she could find the time to tinker some more? Gals I figured it out - thanks for the help! It's an Odd Keystone for Spiritomb. And *uh* I'm not sure what to do with it. I can't really go to the pokécenter with something that steals souls right?! Can you meet me at the library to help figure this out?
Cheers - Jane!
ps - Make sure to heal your pokés at the center first just in case!
"That's no good! Salena mutters as one of Riley's partners gets taken out. "Come on you guys! You got this! Bob and weave! Bob and weave!"Shoot! She hoping to see Riley in action too. But it seems like for now at least, she a bit ah... Out of action. Wait. Oh! Her Pokédex beeped, breaking her from her cheering reverie. She quickly tried to type up a response. Soul stealing... Rock? You're right, you might want to be careful with that. But, right now, Riley is in a battle, and I might be next, so I'm not sure if either of would be able to help out.
That said, if you stop by here, the Gym Leader might be able to help you out. She seems pretty cool about this kind stuff.
She also dresses, really, really fast, which is weird, but unrelated.
Message! Oh I'm in no hurry! I'm just going to take the time to tinker a bit with my things. I'd love to stop by and chat with the leader and watch your match - I'm just worried that something bad might happen if someone faints!
Good luck : ) //Jane
Salena quickly types out another, torn away from the action on the field briefly! Ok! I'll let her know to keep an eye out for you, just in case. This Gym is kind of weird, so it might not be a bad idea to call ahead and let her know you aren't coming for a fight. They ah, treat challengers to a rather ~*unique*~ experience!
Salena cringed when the dust finally settled. Well. She could see why Atropa was often seen as the Gym Leader. Her skill in battle was impeccable. She types out a quick message. Hey Jane. Riley lost. Some of the Gym Trainers might be taking her to the Pokémon Center soon...
