As the group continues on their way, the more perceptive [15+] start hearing what sounds like a struggle! There's a very distinct voice screaming out something quite similar to "Away with ye, beasts!" and you think you hear some snarling.

Morgan's eyes opened wide when the words reached his ears. "Trouble, hostile Pokémon. Snarls" He says simply and quietly. They needed to move fast. Something was happening in their camp, and now they desperately needed to prioritize making sure the hostages were safe. For now, he redoubles his pace. What an alarming day this was becoming...

Elys looked up from O. and his trail for the first time in several minutes, glancing around the woods. "Where?" she asked, keeping her voice low. Of course, if the enemy was close enough to eavesdrop, they were probably close enough to see her looking around just then. Such was hindsight. "Ambush, you think?" He was hurrying; did that mean the unseen Pokemon were behind the group?

Morgan shakes his head curtly. "No. In their camp." His teeth clench against one another. Bah! He would certainly strive to explain this all a bit further, but they were much too close now. They needed to keep moving; lest something terrible befall the hostages!

Maela didn't bother arguing. Her ears weren't as sharp as Morgan's, so she had to take his word for what was happening, but she thought his judgment was reliable in a serious situation like this. She drew her flail and moved to follow him in the direction of the sound. "Then let's go."

The group rushes to see two injured men, backs against each other, surrounded by a pack of four Electrike!

Morgan wastes no time in taking a knee. The pair of bandits were wounded and despite having a strong dislike of these ruffian characters, Morgan knew that they needed a hand. And... Maybe leverage. O. tells Bryn to move forward toward the Bandits and Canine pokemon through the ground, and when one gets close to hit them with Magnitude. "Couldn't have even let us sneak up a bit closer first?" O. asks toward Morgan jokingly as he prepares to rush forward.

As Lana struggles to (slowly) get herself ready for the problem at hand, she whistles out some quick commands at Kel, who immediately lunges forward trying to close the distance between herself and the foes. The little Pawniard clangs her sword-arms against her armorlike sides, trying to gather some of the Electrikes' attention.

Maela's lips twisted in chagrin as she surveyed the situation. This was, unfortunately, a consistent problem for Arwain - she did better than many aquatic Pokémon, but she was still not very mobile on land. At a glance Maela thought there was only one way she could reach one of the green dogs. "Arwain, forward! See how they like a little lightning!"
The little Chinchou flopped her way forward, and her lures rose, generating a crackling orb of electricity between them that she launched at the nearest of the dogs. This particular pup, it appeared, was having a bad day as a result of being the nearest to the group. Meanwhile, Maela was considering how much gratitude to expect from two men who seemed likely to be members of the very band of rogues they were seeking.
Arwain moves three meters north and uses Electro Ball on E4! AC 2 vs Kti|y2|L1d20; Crit 19+ 2d8+38 Special Electric damage. Electro Ball's target subtracts both its Speed and Special Defense from the damage roll. Critical hit! 2d8+10 additional damage.1d20·2d8+38·2d8+10

The Electrike went down to the combined might of Kel and Arwain, causing the rest of the green canines to turn towards the party and give a wary growl.

O. rushes forward hoping to get closer to the bandits in case they decide to try their luck at running away while the dogs are distracted by a new group of people. Upon getting closer and watching as the closest dog falls, O. holds up his hand, holding it palm out towards the next closest dog (E3) flashing lights appear to come from his hand toward the dog. O. Fleur, though able to move, politely watches Morgan's arrow for later retrieval as it plummeted into a tree, knocking down an empty bird nest. Morgan, for his part, tried to pretend that it didn't even happen at all. Nope. He didn't miss that badly at all! Nope!

The three green dogs turned at the alpha strike one of their companions received. The crackling of electricity started to spark around the three, and after a couple seconds each canine released a wave of energy with a howl that seemed to make the muscles of both of the men and of O. seize from the shock.

"Oh, good hit, Arwain!" Maela hadn't been expecting much from Arwain's attack against what looked like another Electric-type, even if it was probably Arwain's strongest move. Apparently she'd hit a vulnerable spot, though coming in after the others had already struck it certainly helped. Maela's legs weren't as long as O.'s and she wasn't as fast on her feet as little Kel - she wasn't likely to be able to reach the remaining dogs for a moment yet. In the meantime she paused to center herself as she advanced, steadying her breathing and easing herself into the rhythm of the fight. Maela uses Focused Energy! Maela is getting Pumped!

Cie's lips curled back into a snarl. There were OTHER DOGS here and that was not acceptable! If Cie were not such a good and well-trained dog he would already be biting them. But Cie was a good dog. He would not run ahead of Master. He would go when Master said go, and bite when Master said bite, and not a moment sooner. If she wanted to go slowly that was her right. But he couldn't help growling a little, letting out a few barks to alert these silly forest dogs to his presence. Cie moves forward and uses Howl, for +1 Attack stage.

Though clearly a little perturbed by his terrifyingly bad aiming as of late, Morgan nocks another arrow and fires it off at the third dog creature! Fly true yon arrow! Fly! Lana ambles up into the fray, trying not to be left behind so terribly by her much quicker teammates. Seeing Kel ahead, she clears her throat, but instead of starting a song, shouts: "Kel, we really need to win this to keep everyone safe. You're not going to give up, will you, dearest?"Kel is somehow bolstered by Lana's sweet words, however that works. Lana moves up 5m, and then uses Confide on Kel. Kel's SpAtk drops to -1 CS, but through Defiant, her Attack raises by +2 CS. Lana readies her Shield as a Swift Action (Shield Bearer) and grants Maela the Evasion and DR. This costs 1 AP.

Elys charged forward, slower than most of her comrades at first but gaining ground as she got up to speed. She held her shield out before her like a battering ram, ready to intercept incoming attacks.
