"Hiding in clusters is for the weak, and I've no need of the weak." Alyx snorts softly, beckoning Stitches onward and skirting the pokemon without further consideration. Lyzare had the right of it, shame she wasn't out here with just one of them, now that could have certainly been a lot more fun.

"I wouldn't mind studying these critters, but I wouldn't want to stay behind." Abigail adds, "Whatever those things are," She points to the shapes in the distance, "They're likely just as interesting a study."

The group of pokemon shift out of the way; the grass times resting a bit closer to the pool of water, the Dwebble scuttling away from them, seeming content to burrow back into the sand a few meters away. The shapes in the distance continue to loom as they plod along in the distance, stopping every now and again. The water nearby ripples, blue bugs skimming across the surface, seeming not to care about the travelers.

"Well, Hy'm continuink on den. Noting here seems particularly hoshtile."With that Hobart stood up and walked toward the distant figure, making sure to give any of the disturbed Pokemon a decent amount of space. Well, I'm continuing on then. Nothing here seems particularly hostile.

"Maybe it could be fun..." Alyx tittered to herself, gesturing to one of the Dwebble. "Stitches." Saying the bear's name caused it to stiffen to alertness. "Catch." Alyx gestured to the stone resting in the dirt nearby, her little stuffed animal bounding up to it, and winding back one of it's little arms.

As they were walking away Abigail notices the bear's swing go way wide. "So are you going to finish this job? If so I'm happy to help," she turns to the rest of her party, "If princess here is up for it, we'll catch up to you in a second."

Lyzare coughs to hide his grin at Stitches' clear miss, then nods at Abigail's comment.
"Very well," he says, pleased to be moving on. "It's you and I, then, Hobart. Let's go see what fearsome beasts await us." And he heads towards the bigger pokemon in the distance at a good pace, Beau flapping along just above.

The pair of Dwebble skitter around more at the wild swing above them. Their pincers raise up clicking in the air at their would be assailant. They snip and quickly burrow down into the ground away from further harm.

"Well that's a bust" Abigail sighs, "I guess we're heading with you guys." She follows lyzare towards the looming shapes.

Looking over his shoulder at the sudden noise Hobart chuckled softly as he said. "Well, dot's how it goes, ve hef to remember to corner dem next time." He turned back and continued walking toward the mysterious figures. Well, that's how it goes, we'll have to remember to corner them next time.

"Ch. Isn't that just the way." Alyx kicked at the dirt, frustrated. "I know you'll do better next time Stitches. Now I'm more inclined to just rough something up and call it a day... where'd those plants get off to." Alyx sneered a little and continued on her hunt.

The trio of oddish and the budew don't seem to have gone too far. As the rest of the party progresses they pass by a pair of guards, one looks like they want to say something and stops to open his mouth. The other however glances back and the younger guard quickly rushes up to catch up with him looking... sad at the trio? They seem to be approaching the edge of the tranquil wastes and the massive figure seems to be a bit more clear now, almost like a gargantuan tree, sand billowing around it. There are several warning signs nearby, but the text is too worn and faded to read clearly. The area gives way to dryer land, more sand and stones, more desert dwelling trees lie in the wastes, their trunks twisted and warped out of the norm.

Alyx remains behind, distracted or uncaring about her cohorts, stalking after the Budew with her Stufful in tow. "I don't have to tell you what happens if I go home disappointed. You know what I want to see... make it happen!" With a squeak, Stitches dove headlong into the bundle of grass types, swinging at everything within reach.

After seeing the slightly worrying reaction from the guard Hobart decided it may not be in their best interest to split up. Turning around he shouted back at Alyx. "Deedn't hyu vant to go into de more dangerous vashtes? Hy tink ve're about to enter an area dot vould qualify!"He nodded at the guards as they passed and gave them a quick bow. "Hello dere, how iz you day?" Didn't you want to go into the more dangerous wastes? I think we're about to enter an area that would qualify. Hello there, how is your day?

Lyzare's pace falters at the look the guards were giving them. He could hear the sounds of battle behind, though, and had no interest in turning to join what would no doubt be a quick slaughter, if that girl's mannerisms were anything to go by. He proceeded towards the tree, but much slower. "There very well may be more around here, Beau. Start looking again. I'd rather not traverse too far into this place without the others..."Lyzare's Perception: 0rLrVaAr3d6 Beau's Perception: 4d6+2 3d6·4d6+2

"Gimme a minute." Alyx bit back at Hobart without turning her attention away from the carnage Stitches was wrecking in front of her. Her posture was rigid, holding an anticipatory quality to it, the tone itself not quite a whine but very nearly there. Her facial expression would've been unsettling to say the least, were any of them actually standing in front of her still.

The bear's swing digs into the Budew and two of the Oddish, all of which don't seem to be doing well at all after the attack. The Budew squeals out as poisonous barbs push out into the stuffed bear's arm. (Poison Point.) The quartet glow lightly, and aim towards the stuffed bear, essence being drawn out of it.
4 Absorbs attacks at stitches. 24, 24, 22, 20. 4 instances of grass special damage. Lyzare can't make out more details on his own, but Beau points out some details with his feathers. It seems that the large tree is a pokemon, and smaller trees seem to be moving along its surface and near the ground. He seems to recognize them slightly... but they're just foreign enough that he can't place it. For the most part it seems like other pokemon are avoiding the territory they're moving through.
The senior guard gives a grunt, urging the younger one along, much like a puppy being yanked about on a leash.

The Pokemon, despite ganging up on the stuffed animal seem to leech very little true vitality out of it. The bear just keeping it's glassy eyed, overwide smile as the small motes of green trickle away from it. It turns and slams itself into one of the Oddish it had partially crushed with it's previous brutal swing. (Stitches takes 4 instances of 1 grass special damage, using tackle on an Oddish that had been struck previously.)

Alyx's expression is ecstacy, she'll just have to bring one of these little buds along with her and slowly strip away all the parts of them she doesn't like.

The pokeball snaps shut, and doesn't reopen, the oddish crumpling to its side from the cruel strike. Green seeping from the battered and bruised form. The other two stare forward, quivering in fear but anger in their small eyes.

Hobart watched as the guards left. Perhaps it would be best to avoid this area? Well, nothing ventured nothing gained. Turning back toward Lyzare he walked up to look at what he had managed to find.
