Abigail catches up with her team as they're chatting with the train lady. "Thank you very much." She greats their chauffeur as she boards the train. Taking a seat across from lyzare she pulls out get tablet and returns to the diagrams she was working on earlier.

Hobart gives the conductor a short bow before getting on the train as well, he stows his luggage in the overhead compartment before sitting in a seat on the same side as Abigail. "Well, let’s hope de vashtes hef someting intereshtink to offer us den."Well, let’s hope the wastes have something interesting to offer us then.

The conductor seems to give a grunt of a snort and simply returns to her compartment. The doors shut without ceremony once everyone is on board, and the train soon takes off, a slow lurching filling the air. The squeal of air and metal as it departs. The windows seem to be slated shut currently, just thin contrails poking in from between the lengths of material, the outside difficult to see from the compartment of the train. Music rollicks through the confines of the metal serpent, the distinct twangs of acoustic guitars and deep southern voices belting out lyrics of life in the desert filling the air.
After what feels like an hour the train rolls to a stop, the doors on one side opening up to expose the odd terrain to the quartet. Before them is a large... field of sorts, weeds poking up through desert sands, haphazard trickles of water crisscrossing through between sandy mounds. The air is cool and a faint spray drifts over from the large body of water nearby. There are Joshua trees and stringy bush plants soaking up the gentle waters. The wind is gentle in this area, but even from your view it's not hard to tell that the conditions rapidly get worse the further away from the city as made apparent by dusty squalls skirmishing along the horizon. To the left and right just from poking your heads out the door the walls of New Albion are visible, curved and glaring sun back out towards the wilderness.
The crackle of the P.A. system breaks the calm sight the old woman's voice ringing out clearly, "A'right ya lot! Get offa mah train right quick ya'hear?"
Feel free to roll perceptions/anything else you feel like making as long as you explain what you'd like to use it for.~ Even if it doesn't quite work I may use the roll to give a modifier to a more applicable skill instead.

As the group rode along the train car, Abigail released her ralts." Hey buddy, it's time for some gathering," she strokes her friend, "remember to concentrate, the latest batch we got was a bit odd." She pulls out a small vial, while a psychic field grows more and more visible around the small Mon. Dipping the vial into the field, it comes out glowing with energy. She caps the vial and slips it into her pack as the train stops.
"We've arrived, is anyone here looking for anything in particular? If so we'll try to seek something like that out."

Lyzare waits for the others to disembark from the train before he does himself. He looks more than a bit out of place in these Wastes, and his smile falters. Anything could go wrong here, so far from the comfort of his apartment...
He releases Beau to the ground beside him. The Dartrix shuffles his feathers and peers around at the strangers momentarily, gaze sharp and critical. It isn't until Lyzare whistles a series of short, quiet notes that Beau's feathers settle, and the bird then looks particularly pacified, going so far as to coo cheerfully in Abigail's Ralts' direction.
"I've honestly no preference," Lyzare replies, making sure that his lock case is securely attached to one of the empty basic balls. "Any creature with the potential to be friendly and a good companion is ideal, but I've little experience with pokemon as a whole. Do you have any suggestions, my dear?" He raises an eyebrow to Abigail, still smiling.

Hobart watched in fascination as Abigail extracted the glowing energy from her Ralts companion. His thoughts whirred at the applications of tangible psychic force, how he could improve his creations if he could properly understand and harness such energy. How quickly did it deplete? What properties did it have? How did the substance react under and electromagnetic field? His head spun with idea's, finally, he realized that she had spoken and he gave the quick reply. "Hy'm not lookink for moch in particular, let's jusht see vot ve find."
With that he rose and hopped off of the car, kicking up clouds of sand. He scanned the area looking for anything of interest, it seemed rather barren out here but there was sure to be something. He unclipped Fritz's ball from his belt and released him. The blobby grimer grinned and bobbed up and down happily, it extended two metal arms and clanged them together softly above its head. Turning to the other's Hobart said. "Thiz iz my partner Fritz, hyu hef to excuse us for beink rude und not introducink him earlier. Confined spaces don't tend to vork vell vit grimer."
Fritz bubbled happily beside Hobart as he waved his tiny metal hands at the group. I'm not looking for much in particular, let's just see what we find. This is my partner Fritz, you'll have to excuse us for being rude and not introducing him earlier. Confined spaces don't tend to work well with grimer.

"Well even without a goal in mind we can't just wander in a random direction, can we?" She muses, more to herself than to the benefit of her companions. She notices her partner's newly released companion, "He's fantastic! He looks so darn happy. Would you mind if I took a little sample of his poison? I'm doing some research to see if I can use poison types to highten visual sensitivity."

Stepping off of the train, Alyx fetches a scratched and marred Pokeball from her cleavage and releases a small brown and pink bear that resembles a stuffed animal with short pointed ears and a big smile. It's beady eyes fixate on it's trainer, and unlike the other releases it takes little to no interest in it's environment or the other creatures as they're released. Alyx gives it no praise or immediate attention either. "I'm for pushing through the wastes and going further beyond, won't find much of value here, the..." She paused and gave a sideways glance to the security still in the area and surprisingly checked herself. "Police comb this area for the things of particular usefulness."

The security detail nearby stay close to the walls, unmoving with visors covering the top halves of their faces. Their hands folded behind their backs with various weapons strapped to them. They seem remarkably still, and it's difficult to determine whether they are living or well crafted machine. There are a few pokemon out in the open, notably a few that resemble weeds or flowers. A few white birds rest at the water's edge, with several blue bugs skimming across the surface of the water. There are large dark shapes on the horizon, seeming to move through the harsh conditions with ease.

Hobart nodded as Abigail spoke. That was prudent but he felt they'd be reasonably safe out here. From what he'd come to know about the city it could be just as dangerous if not more than the land surrounding it. All in all, he felt confident as he replied. "As long as ve keep track uf vere de train iz ve should be fine."Turning to the gurgling Fritz he continued with a theatric wave of his hand. "Fritz, vould hyu mind if she takes a semple?"
With that, the Grimer puffed himself up and tried to make himself look big and strong as if he could take on anything. He excitedly nodded as he continued his gelatinous gyrations, small bits of sludge spattering the sands around him. "Ho! There hyu hef it, as long as it dozn't hurt him take vot hyu need. Krollian grimer tend to shtore deir poison in de hard nodules dey use as teeth, be careful not to cot youself. Although Hy done quite a bit uf vork vit enhancink vision if hyu vant some modifications, Hy'd be quite happy to cot henny uf hyu competitive rates if ve're all to vork together."Turning at Alyx's comment he wondered what background she'd come from, most likely it was better not to try to pry too deep there, it was better not to get too sucked in there, who knew where that'd put him in the end. Most likely at the bottom of the nearest river, back home it'd have ended with him becoming another piece of trash littering the place. Snapping himself out of his thoughts he commented. "If hyu are uncomfortable den let's gets a mouf on, Hy tink Hy sav someting movink around further out. Maybe it's someting dot might catch you eye?"As long as we keep track of where the train is we should be fine.
Fritz, would you mind if she takes a sample?
Ho! There you have it, as long as it doesn't hurt him take what you need. Krollian grimer tend to store their poison in the hard nodules they use as teeth, be careful not to cut yourself. Although I've done quite a bit of work with enhancing vision if you want some modifications, I'd be quite happy to cut any of you competitive rates if we're all to work together.
If you are uncomfortable then let's get a move on, I think I saw something moving around further out. Maybe it's something that might catch your eye?

"Thank you very much Hobert, and you too grimer." Abigail takes out a very thick pair of rubber gloves and puts them on, "Believe me, I've worked with deadlier Pokemon. Now say ah please." With expert precision she removes one of his "teeth" and places it into a similar vial as last time. "I see them too, they should provide an interesting challenge if nothing else. I wouldn't mind looking at those bugs over there" She points to the largest body of water, "If those shapes turn out to be a bust."

Lyzare frowns at the idea of moving too far from the city, but his interest is piqued by the larger shapes on the horizon.
"Very well," he adds. "Perhaps there will be some graceful pokemon over there as well. Or something that will look as such with a bit of a makeover, at least... come along then, fellows." And with that he strides towards the bigger shapes, looking more confident than he feels inside.
On his way over, he orders Beau to keep an eye out for anything that might be hiding nearby, including other pokemon. No sense being ambushed.

Alyx was satisfied with the arrangement, particularly that she'd gotten her way as far as she could lead them. A little smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth until she addressed her Pokemon. "Come Stitches."
The small bear let out a soft cry, and kept itself within three steps of it's mistress at all times, eyes straight ahead. Incredibly disciplined, but apparently lacking much personality to speak of.

The group carries on, and for the most part the brief walk is uneventful; though their progress is soon halted by an outstretched wing. Upon looking down it seems that the dartrix stopped them for... a pile of pebbles and weeds? A faint breeze sways through the area, the leaves of the weeds seeming a bit sturdier than one would expect.
Pokemon Education would likely be helpful to roll here.

Lyzare frowned at Beau, then looked across at his teammates. "His interest has been piqued. I do wonder what by..." He leaned in closer, trying to determine if the weeds were in fact another pokemon. Poke Edu 11. Pretty much the best I can do fam :L

"Getting nervous about a little dirt and some weeds Lyzare?" Alyx jabbed playfully at the model, leaning past him a bit to get a better look at the mound of whatever it was.

Hobart stared at the pile of rocks, wondering what had caught the Dartix's eye. He bent down grabbing a pebble and tossing it among the weeds. Maybe that would draw out whatever was hiding there.

The weeds shake and shift more, uprooting themselves. Three appear to be relatively mundane Oddish, but one of the plants looks a bit more like a budding flower. The rocks seem to shake and shift too, scuttling a bit away from the new visitors, orange shapes peering out. They are easily recognizable as Dwebble. All in all there appear to be 3 Oddish, 2 Dwebble, and a singular Budew before the group.

Lyzare stepped away quickly as the rocks--Dwebble, he realized--moved. He schooled his expression into one of disinterest, letting out a short sigh at Alyx's taunt. "I've no need to get near them myself, and I'd rather not be in their way if we're not going to make an attempt to capture them. Live and let live, no? I'm partial towards continuing on those those larger pokemon in the distance, myself. If any of you are interested in these, perhaps we should divide into pairs get our capturing done?"

Hobart stood up from his crouch and surveyed the Pokemon that had appeared. None of them caught his eye in particular. Turning to the others he said. "Hy musht admit, noting here looks particularly intereshtink to me. Hy vote ve keep movink."I must admit, nothing here looks particularly interesting to me. I vote we keep moving.
