While meandering around the outskirts of Cerulean, Kaeda spots what appears to be a purple balloon drifting across the sky in her general direction.

Kaeda stops in her tracks and watches the balloon. She find it quite curious, and sad if a child had lost it. She follows it, and she approaches it. Her two pokemon, Orpheus and Pyro Jack stay by her side.

The balloon settles down around Kaeda's eye level as the light breeze that had been blowing it fades away. It then turns on its own to look at Kaeda curiously. Turns out, it's a Pokemon!

While this Pokemon doesn't seem fully able to grasp communication, you sense surprise, mild fear, and many other emotions and thoughts running through its mind. You do learn that it's species is called "Drifloon".

Kaeda tries to keep herself as friendly as possible to not frighten it. "I guess you can. Don't worry. I have a gift to communicate directly through thoughts. You are so cute. How would you like to come with me, and my friends?" She smiles at Orpheus and Pyro Jack. "We are a close family, and we travel all over the region. What do you say?"

A sudden breeze causes the Drifloon to begin floating away, though thankfully it bumps into a building before going too far. It seems unsure.

Kaeda follows after the Drifloon. "You poor thing. The wind just takes you wherever, huh? I'll take you everywhere, but I'm more caring, and I won't throw you into walls." She reaches out to pet the Drifloon.

After several more minutes of back and forth (mostly involving chasing it down when the wind catches it again), Drifloon agrees to join up with you. If only so it won't get blown away again.
Female, level 22, Docile, with Aftermath and Flare Boost.

"2v2 huh? Alright then." This was something a little different, but she had to be confident. She made her way into Arena 1, and took her position. She tosses out 2 pokeballs. Out first is the regal, and towering Serperior, Castor. Out second is a happy little rock who busts out into a jig, Sandman the Roggenrola. "I'm ready!" Can you hear me, guys? Believe in me, and I believe in you. Let's do it!

The poor roggenrola gets absolutely blasted. "Geez! Hey you wanna calm down there!? No need to try and kill it!" She recalls the little guy, and out comes her next pokemon. Palladion pops out, and throws a few jabs at nothing. Kaeda snaps her fingers, and points at the Rotom. Castor, Leech Seed! Castor then tosses a few seeds to latch onto the rotom.
