Oh ho, there is a human being hiding in that suit! Azrael smiles politely as if he hadn't noticed Armando's reaction, and nods before thinking through what was just said. Wait, if everyone else is dropping out, that means... As Armando confirms their finalist status, Azrael winces very visibly before glancing at Jack and Grumpy. Well, this isn't exactly the group I'd have chosen to fight, but it's still worth a try, right?He rolls his eyes at Dave's commentary a moment later - though I honestly don't disagree. A moment later Armando imparted a breath of fresh life into Azrael's optimism by clarifying the start time for the semi-finals. Oh thank Arceus. With a little luck, maybe I can find something that will resist Bolt and Hal. He frowns slightly. Well, with a lot of luck, I guess. He followed the others outside, and looked around at the hollowed-out tournament grounds. Turning to the others, he responded, "Yeah, I'd definitely be down for a real meal later!" And with those words, Azrael's attention was called clearly and insistently to his stomach. I guess I haven't actually eaten anything since this morning... Doing his best to ignore Grumpy, Azrael turned immediately back to the Pokecenter, emerging a minute later with a handful of snacks and pastries wrapped up in a napkin for the road. Now properly prepared for adventure, he brushed his hair away from Aethon's insistent beak, and headed out of town in search of wild Pokemon that might save his cause. Once they make it out of town, Azrael will start investigating off the path without straying out of sight. His eye are generally tilted upwards in search of things flying about, but Aethon's much more likely to find things - and it's anyone's guess where Aethon's attention might be XD

"A Venipede, huh?," Jack said, easily identifying the common insect. Jack wasn't particularly keen on having a poisonous worm around...poison-types in general sent a little shiver up his spine...but battling it could be good practice for Bolt. "Alright Bolt...let's go," Jack said, stepping out of the bushes. "Hey, Venipede!," Jack said, trying to get the Pokemon's attention. "Me and Bolt challenge you to a battle!," he declared. Jack uses Agility Training on Bolt.
If Bolt is down for this battle, he'll use Charge at initiative 18. |

JackBolt moves forward, electricity surging throughout his fur, sparking and scorching the ground. The Venipede matches his movement, stopping a few meters from Bolt and letting out a high pitched Screech Venipede is 2 Meters from Bolt now AzraelAetheon flies up as soon as Azrael makes it out of the town proper, swooping over and landing in a nearby tree. As soon as Azrael makes it near him, he flies to the next one, repeating this for a few minutes. As they kept this up, eventually Aethon noticed something, flying off near a bush and pecking at it, wisps of purple haze rising from the plant. As Azrael closes in, a small floating Pokemon appears from behind the bush, Pink and with a pattern of purple flowers on it. The Pokemon floats towards Aethon who quickly flies back and lands in front of Azrael DC 7 Poke Edu unless you use a Standard to use a Pokedex LukeThe Patrat runs closer to Luke, stopping about a meter away and looking at the boy and Gawain with a quizzical look in its eyes. Luke knows enough about Patrat to know that they are extremely cautious Pokemon, and this one is most likely on the lookout for food. Gawain moves forward, slowly approaching the Patrat before looking back at Luke for a second, asking for guidance on what he should do Dave As Hal sputters and sparks, failing once more to fire off his electrical web, the Purrloin take the chance to strike, rushing past Hal and clawing him as it moved past him and stopped a meter past him, turning back and stifling a giggle at his failed attempt at an attack The Purrloin is a meter from Hal now

Bolt pulled his ears down against his head against the noise, but stood his ground.
Jack, likewise, had covered his ears against the harsh screeching noise. "Alright Bolt, you know what to do! Thunder Shock!," he said.
The little electric mouse unleashed a powerful blast of voltaic force at the venomous, screeching worm.

JackBolt looses the massive shock at the Venipede, which somehow still stands after the hit, though it's carapace is covered in scorch marks. It retaliates by opening fire at bolt, a salvo of tiny needles flying towards the Electric Mouse 22 Poison Physical damage on Bolt, and the Venipede is six away LukeThe Patrat hesitantly moves to take the granola bar from Luke, sitting and munching on it as soon as it takes it. Gawain moves closer and sniffs it a little, which the Patrat does right back once it stuffs its cheeks full of food. It then tilts its head as it looks at Luke, sizing him up, though it seems far from hostile. DaveHal beeps a few times towards Dave before he shines with a metallic gleam, which the Purrloin doesn't seem to notice as it attempts to slash across him once more, it's claws drawing a few sparks as it skids to a stop on the opposite side of Hal, eyes narrowing at the Program Pokemon. 24 Normal Physical on Hal. So like not much after all your stuff, I'm sure

Bolt almost completely dodges the attack, but he is struck by some of the needles. Although they do quite a bit of damage, Bolt is still standing.
Jack is somewhat surprised that the Venipede survived Bolt's attack. That had never happened before. Maybe having a Venipede around wouldn't be so bad after all...
Jack grabbed a spare pokeball off his belt. "Hold on Bolt, lemme give this a shot," he said, stepping up. Then came the wind up...aaand the pitch, and Jack threw the pokeball at the Venipede.

The Patrat looks over to Gawain and chitters a few times, to which the Eevee nods and then runs over and rubs against Lukes leg. After a moment of contemplation, the little rodent walks over and touches the Pokeball, getting quickly sucked in. Gawain jumps up and yips in joy at the addition of a new friend
Jack
Bolt moved quickly to the side as the Pokeball soared past and struck the Venipede, the ball barely having time to shake before it chimed in success. After looking at it for a few moments, Bolt went and sniffed the ball, waiting to see what would happen, but it sat there, motionless
Dave
This time, Hal charges and fire a proper bit of electricity, the web striking the Purrloin head on, causing the little cat to wince in pain and move with a slight limp
The Purrloin circles around Hal for a second, fur still tinged with the remnants of static electricity before seemingly going in to strike at Hal once more, before aiming for his eyes at the last minute!

As the cat goes for Hal's eyes, Dave winces. Even for an artificial being, having something try to rip out your optics was probably not very pleasant. "Okay, Hal, try again. See if that first circuit's working now." It does seem to work this time... though it's nowhere near the cat, Hal trying to avid having to have his eyes repaired. Well, at least it works... thinks Dave. Dave uses Expend Momentum to recharge Electroweb.
Hal uses Electroweb, but misses. (1 vs Ac2)

Luke smiles as the Patrat allows herself (as he found out later) to be caught. Quickly checking her vitals, he releases the rodent. "Welcome to the team, little lady. I'm Luke and this is Gawain. You're gonna need a name as well, aren't you?" He thinks for a moment, before smiling. "How about Maia? That sounds good right?" He smiles down at her. After hearing her response, he stands back up and turns to Gawain. "I think we're gonna stay on the road for a bit longer, see what else we might run into, 'kay buddy?"He continues walking through the road, keeping an eye out for any wilds, Gawain and Maia on his heels. Azrael gently pats Aethon, "Gentle there, buddy. No need to startle them - good spot, though!" He looks the pink creature cover carefully for a moment. Huh, a Munna. Weirder than I was expecting around here. He pauses thoughtfully, scratching the side of his jaw. Buut... it could be pretty useful. He pulls a cookie from his recently acquired stash, and crouches down, holding the cookie at arm's length, "Hey there little fella, how are you?" Keeping his peripheral vision on the new 'Mon, he glances at Aethon, "Well, what do you think? Seems nice enough so far." Charm: 13 |

Jack smiled slightly as he caught the pokemon. "Good job, Bolt. That went really well, and I think it'll be good practice for tomorrow," he said with a grin, walking over and picking up the pokeball.
"Well, let's get acquainted with our new teammate," Jack said. And I really hope he's not in a bad mood...
With that, Jack released the Venipede out onto the field neare to himself and Bolt.
"Hey there," he said cheerily. "That was a great battle. You're the first Pokemon to be able to land a hit against Bolt here, much less survive one of his Thundershocks. That's really impressive," he said with a sincere grin. "Me and Bolt are actually just starting our journey, and you're the first wild pokemon we've battled. Pretty cool, huh?," he asked, trying to gauge the Pokemon's disposition.

Bolt jumped and cheered for a moment, though as Jack released the Venipede, it quickly became clear that the insect wasn't in the friendliest of moods. As Jack attempted to talk to him, he seemed to completely ignore the boy. Bolt however, knew just what to do. The little Pichu once more ran over and began to search through Jacks bag, returning a moment later triumphantly holding another cookie that Jack had never seen before in his life. The Electric Mouse, broke the cookie in half and offered half of it to the Venipede, which quickly ate it, and seemed in a more pleasant mood afterwards, though it still looked at Jack a little warily
Luke
Luke, Gawain, and Maia all walk peacefully along the road, Gawain and Maia seemingly chatting with each other, though Luke doesn't hear anything other than chittering and yips. However, after a more minutes of walking, the Scout Pokemon freezes and points off in a direction, looking to Luke and making it obvious that SOMETHING is over there....He just can't figure out what that something is from this distance
Azrael
Aetheon stays near Azrael, though he inches towards the cookie. Before he has a chance to do anything with it, it's covered in a soft blue light and is pulled from Azraels hand, floating over to the Munna which quickly begins to eat it, floating towards the pair and slowly opening its eyes, looking for the source of the cookies
Dave
As the webbing goes wide, the Purrloin snickers once more, before going in for a strike in one of Hals more vulnerable regions, hoping to put the Synthetic Pokemon out of commission for a bit, even with its steely exterior at the moment

Luke frowns slightly at Maia's gesturing, somewhat concerned. "What's wrong, Maia?" He looks over to where she's pointing, and sees... something, though he can't make out what. Motioning for Gawain to stick close to him and Maia to stay put, he carefully walks closer to the figure hiding in the bushes. Jack shook his head and sighed with a smile. "Where do you even hide all of those...?," he muttered to himself before looking back at the Venipede with a smile.
"Well, at least you're getting along with Bolt. That's important," he said kindly. "Listen, Venipede, I don't want to force you to come along with me and Bolt if you don't want to, but we'd certainly like to have you come along with us. You'll have plenty of opportunities to battle and improve your strength, and I promise there will be lots of yummy food along the way," he added. "But if you want to stay here, or if you decide to leave in the future, I totally understand. All you have to do is say the word, and I'll let you go, though I'd probably miss ya," he said. A little reluctantly, Jack extended his hand toward the poisonous pokemon. "Well? Whadda ya say?," he asked cheerily.

Azrael clapped his hands together softly with delight and amusement, "That was cool!" He grinned at the strange pink creature floating towards him, and held his left hand back out, wiggling his fingers to invite it over. He glanced at the conspicuously quiet Aethon, "C'mon, totally seems nice, right?" With his right hand he slowly reached to one of the empty pokeballs on the back of his belt, and holds it out for examination slightly behind his outstretched left hand. "Would you like to come with us? Me and Aethon," he inclined his head towards the little bird, "could really use your help if you were interested."
Azrael paused for a moment, thinking about the fight with Team Plasma that morning. With a more concerned and pensive expression, he said, "I'm not sure how much you understand me, but if you want to leave later, I promise you can." After spending a moment lost in thought, he perks up and adds, "There's loads of free food back at the Pokemon Center, though, so I can promise you won't go hungry!"
