Jack
The Venipede rolled its eyes, before looking at Bolt, who nodded enthusiastically. Jack can hear what seems to be a sigh come from it, before it went up and touched his hand with one of its antenna, it looks like it wants to travel with him after all, at least for now
As Jack and Bolt make the trek back to the road both of them are too caught up in enjoying the walk to notice the rock flying right at Bolts head!
Azrael
The Munna seems unsure of whether or not it wanted to leave, especially with someone it just met. Aethon squawks a few times at it, and it humms back at him, gently glowing with a blue light for a moment. But still, it just hangs in the air for a moment before slowly starting to drift away
Luke
As Luke walks into a clearing, he sees two small deer like Pokemon smashing their heads into each other repeatedly, until one seems to get the upper hand, hitting it's foe with an especially hard hit, a loud crack reverberating throughout the glade. The victim of the hit steps back, a little woozy, before taking off from the stronger opponent.
The winner turns and notices Luke, Gawain, and Maia, and begins to paw at the dirt and lowers its head, challenging them.
Dave
Hal charges up once more, firing off one final blast at the Purrloin, the electrical web wrapping up the small feline, which falls to the ground in defeat, it's fur standing on end from the remaining static electricity. Hal beeps and boops in joy, before floating back over to Dave

"Well, that was certainly... different." Dave says, more to himself than to Hal. "But, at least we won, despite some difficulties... I'll need to see if I can debug those later. It would have been embarrassing to lose to a stray cat..."
With that, and a last glance at the puffed-up feline on the ground, Dave continues towards the edge of town. It would probably be good to get more experience with the... less civilized form of battling that occurs with wild Pokémon.

Jack was relieved that the Venipede's touch was not accompanied by a poisonous sting, and he smiled. "That's great, Venipede! You won't regret it, and I'm sure we're gonna be good friends," he said with a smile, recalling the pokemon. He'd have to think up a name for it later...
With that, he and Bolt started heading back along the road when someone, or something, threw a rock at them. Fortunately whatever threw it had bad aim, and Bolt had good reflexes, and it missed.
Jack and Bolt both immediately looked over toward where the rock came from. "Hey! What was that for? Who's throwing rocks?," Jack asked defensively as he and Bolt looked for the perpetrator.

Luke backs off a bit as the Deerling challenges him. "Gawain, I think he wants to fight. You up to it?" he asks, motioning for the Eevee to move forward. He turns to the Deerling. "If you want to fight, we'll fight, I suppose."Applying Focused Training as an Order Gawain uses Flail when his turn comes up, AC2: 21 to hit, 44 physical normal type damage assuming Gawain isn't Injured

Azrael frowned, disappointed, and returned the pokeball to the back of his belt. He made eye contact with Aethon for a second, and then lowered himself to a sitting position. Maybe it'll change its mind. While trying to keep an eye on the Munna, he decided to play a game with Aethon in the meantime. He broke off a piece of a cookie, found a small stick from the ground nearby, and held them both up in front of Aethon, "You know this game." So please actually cooperate this time... With that, he wound up and threw the little stick over open ground, aiming safely away from the Munna so as not to startle it. C'mon, buddy...While he will absolutely not chase or otherwise harass the Munna in this situation, it didn't feel right to have him give up at this point. So, his game plan is basically to play with Azrael and try to hold its attention (while conveniently displaying the presence of further cookies), and generally give it a bit of time to reconsider. (I envision that Azrael has probably been trying to teach Aethon to fetch for weeks, with hilariously inconsistent results.)
If mechanics should be brought into it (e.g. Command check to get Aethon to cooperate, as I've deliberately been portraying him as quite stubborn about trivial things; or further Charm checks) feel free to make them for me (I need to dash and don't have time to check in with Skype before posting). Will drop an AP on any such Charm check, as the odds wouldn't be great.
Also, it'd be very in-character for Aethon - if cooperating - to immediately snag the cookie on the way back rather than waiting. ...
Frankly, it'd probably be in-character for Aethon to eat the cookie, pause and look at Azrael, then go get the stick XD

DaveDave makes it the rest of the way out of town without any incident, Hal floating along beside him, happily beeping every couple of minutes. When the duo make it to the edge of town, Dave notices a small clearing. Upon peering through the foliage, he sees something entirely new. A small green bulb like Pokemon is sitting upon a stump, soaking up the sunlight, a smile on it's yellow face. It doesn't seem to have noticed him yet AzraelFor the first time that Azrael can remember, Aethon flew over, grabbed the stick, and returned with it, before waiting patiently for the cookie....for a moment at least. After waiting what felt like a lifetime to the little bird, and was closer to five seconds in reality, he gobbled up the piece of cookie. Unfortunately, the little display didn't seem to hold the Munnas attention, and the pink Pokemon drifted back through the bushes JackAs Jack and Bolt look up, they see a small tan monkey Pokemon, which Jack recognizes as a Mankey, hanging by it's tail and shaking its fist at the pair. It searches around for something else to throw, before dropping to the ground and pounding on its chest a few times. It looks like this Mankey is living up to the species reputation for provoking fights when people come near it's territory LukeThe Deerling charges forward, popping around to kick Gawain with both of its rear legs in quick succession before the Eevee had react. After the duo of kicks, Gawain ran full force into the deer, causing it to let out a cry in pain Gawain takes 28 fighting physical damage before he hits the Deerling

A Mankey? Jack had never heard of Mankey being found in the wild in Unova...that made this a pretty rare opportunity. And this Mankey was raring for a battle...but Bolt had taken some damage in his earlier fight with the Venipede... Jack decided to start out with a more...diplomatic strategy.
"Wow. Hey there Mankey," Jack said calmly, moving slowly. "I never would've guessed you lived out here...a Mankey in Unova is really rare. We didn't realize we were trespassing in your territory," he said, unzipping his backpack slowly.
"Maybe we can start over. My name's Jack, and this is Bolt," he said, nodding to the little Pichu as he pulled out a bag of pokemon food. He unsealed the bag, taking out a few pieces and holding them out to the Mankey. "Why don't you come share some food with us? I'd really like to know how you got all the way out here...," Jack said, open hand extended toward the Mankey as he inched a little closer, his other hand clutching his bag tightly.

"Good job Gawain!" Luke shouts out, as his hand reaches for a Pokéball. He kinda wanted that Deerling... He quickly lobs the ball at the deer, hoping that the Mon would stay in it... Luke throws a Pokéball! AC6: 12, Capture Check: 42

Luke
As the Deerling rears back from Gawains hit, Luke tosses the ball and it strikes the Pokemon square in the chest! One. Two. Three. The ball shakes and finally the chime of success rings throughout the forest. Gawain turns back towards Luke, clearly happy with the win and trots back to his trainer.
Jack
The Mankey looked at Jack suspiciously, inching forward towards the food. Bolt did his best to show how good the food was, taking some and eating it with a content look on his face. Eventually, the Mankey dashed forward and grabbed at the bag of food, trying to take it from Jack

Hmmm... Budew. That was one that he recognized from back home. Though, the evolved forms were much more common sights, at least amongst the trainers who came to the Tower. "Well, Hal," he asks, not bothering to be quiet, "Up for another fight?" It didn't seem fair to not let the Budew know they were there, at the very least.

Jack tried to hold onto the bag but eventually he had to let it go. The Mankey was too strong.
"I guess you're really hungry, huh?," Jack asked encouragingly. "How is it?"
After a pause, he decided to start talking again, his curiosity too great to ignore. "So...what're you doing out here, Mankey?," he asked, "I've never seen any Mankey on this route before, how'd you get here?"

Luke smiles brightly as the Deerling is succesfully captured, and quickly releases him out again, smiling at the small deer. "Hi! Sorry 'bout capturing you in the middle of a battle, but... you seemed really strong, and I could use a good fighter like you!"Charm check: 13

Dave
The Budew looked at Dave and Hal, not seeming to react at first, until it jumped off of the stump, throwing a yellow powder directly at Hals face. landing a few meters from the Program and staring him down, it's smile changed into a nearly blank expression as it's eyes narrowed.
Luke
The Deerling leapt over to Luke, looking at him for a moment before lightly headbutting him in the stomach. After attacking his would be trainer, the small deer Pokemon looked satisfied and went over to inspect Gawain, who looked at him in shock for striking Luke. Once the Deerling came close to him, Gawain began to loudly yip at him, chewing him out for his actions.
Jack
The Mankey looked at the Pokeballs on Jacks belt, and then took a piece of the food and broke it in two. It seems this Mankey used to belong to a trainer, who broke its Pokeball and set it free.
Tearing open the packaging, the Mankey devoured all of the remaining food in the pack, before looking at Jack and holding out it's hands, screeching for more, and slowly moving closer to Jack and Bolt

"I see." Dave says. "So, that's the way you want to play." He eyes the plant. "Okay, Hal, let's not mess around with electricity this time. Psybeam it."Dave Tags the Budew, and uses Focused Training on Hal.
Hal uses Psybeam on the Budew (10 vs AC 2 ) for 29 Special Psychic damage. Hal also Traces Natural Cure.

As Aethon flew back over with the stick and deposited it in Azrael's hand, he just watched for a stunned moment. As Azrael blinked for perhaps the sixth time in a matter of seconds, Aethon clearly reached the end of his patience and snapped up the chunk of cookie on his own. "I... you actually did it..." He made eye contact with Aethon for an awkward moment. "That was awesome!" he shouted, jumping up with a questionable amount of excitement and enthusiasm.
Remembering the original point of this endeavor with a start, he spun towards the bushes, but the Munna was nowhere to be seen. Ah well, win some, lose some. "Well, you were great, buddy. Thanks for helping out." Picking up the little stick and slipping it through a loop on his backpack for luck, he brushed off his pants, and set out back along the road for a bit, keeping an eye out while encouraging Aethon to watch from above. After a bit of walking, he paused to glance between the road on his right, and the trees and deep grass on his left. With a shrug, he turned left. Putting the road to his back and pushing deeper into Route 1.

"So your Trainer released you here...," Jack said, putting two and two together. He knew Mankey could be pretty difficult to train, since they were so aggressive, but there could be other reasons too...had Team Plasma forced the Trainer to release this pokemon? Had the Trainer just abandoned it here? There were a lot of questions...
"Well, I don't really have anymore food that I can give you right now Mankey," Jack said reluctantly. "But if you want to travel with me and Bolt, I can make food like that for you all the time, and some stuff that's even better," he said enthusiastically. "I may not know why your old Trainer released you here, but I think you're pretty awesome, and I'd be honored if you joined our team," he said, trying to be as inviting as he could. "You'd get to battle against lots of strong opponents and get even stronger yourself, and, of course, if it didn't work out and you decided to leave, that would be totally up to you," Jack explained, trying to appeal to the pokemon's aggressive nature. He hoped the chance to test itself would be appealing.
"Well? What do you think?," Jack asked, looking at the Mankey with hopeful eyes.

"Oof!" Luke steps back a bit as the Deerling headbutts him lightly. He frowns a bit. "Yeah... don't do that. Regardless of anything, I am the boss, understood? So no attacking me, or anyone else of my friends unless I tell you to, got it?"

Dave
As the Psychic assault blasts into the little sprout Pokemon, its breathing became obviously labored, the attack taking a lot out of it. It attempted to fire back a glowing green tendril, but the attack went wide, completely missing Hal.
Luke
The Deerling nods, kicking at the dirt a little bit, but otherwise seeming to agree with what Luke was saying, though looking a bit sad about it.
Azrael
As Azrael and Atheon began their trek back along the route, Azrael noticed Aetheon flying directly into a gray and white bird Pokemon! It seems Aetheon was too busy looking towards the ground to look ahead and notice his fellow flying type
Jack
The Mankey seemed to get agitated when Jack mentioned he wouldn't be getting any more food, causing Bolt to run over and attempt to rummage through his secret pocket for another cookie, only this time he didn't find anything. With a pleading look in his eyes, he pulled on Jacks jacket and then gestured towards the bag, unsure of where his secret stash had went.
During all of this, the Mankey came closer to the pair, looking at Jack thoughtfully for a moment, before climbing up his back and sitting down on his head.

Luke smiles encouragingly at the Deerling. "Don't worry, I'm sure there will be plenty of other mon to fight for you." He tilts his head a bit. "You're gonna need a name, aren't you? Hmmm... how about... Abaddon! That sounds fitting, don't you think?"

Pondering for a moment, Dave elects to quickly rummage for a Pokéball, before hurling it at the Budew. After all, he thinks, Isn't that how the tradition of wild battles is supposed to go?
Eh, screw that, he thinks, bitterly, as his throw goes wide. Way wide. Hopefully nobody saw that. "Y'know what, Hal, finish it off. If it's good enough for the Battle Tower, it's a good enough plan here."Dave throws a Pokéball at the Budew... and rolls a 1. The world still hates him, apparently.
Hal uses Psybeam on the Budew (13 vs AC 2) for 38 Special Psychic damage. (I'd misread two numbers, so there was a +1 accuracy bonus, and 2 less damage than there should have been.)
