The Phantump take the moment to laugh at their excellently planned prank, which opens them up to the ice shard attack and the light flash. Annoyed, they start swarming around in circles into a pattern, before finally splitting off; one half of them harassing the hapless Nette before recovering, the other half whirling at Bee due to his annoying ice attacks. 2 Swarm Points. Both attacks are Tackles. Nette takes 26 Physical damage, Bee takes 31 Physical damage. You're welcome to use Blessings though.

"Ow!" Nette flinched as the door slammed into her face. She didn't have much luck with doors today, it seemed ...
It took just a short moment for her to regain all her senses but things around her were happening so fast. She could hear someone calling her name, but in the chaos she wasn't sure who. She replied - "I'm fine! Owww!" - just as the Phantumps struck again. Though technically she didn't feel "fine"; more like "annoyed" even moving towards "angry"! With a deep breath she pulled upon her connection with nature and the ground bellow to replenish her wounds (Ingrain +8hp, Life Force +8hp) before striking back ...
...but her new Mawile friend was faster! The tiny Mawile let out an impressive war-cry and charged at the Phantump swarm. Her extra set of oversized jaws grew long fangs of ice and then slammed into the Phantumps to swat them from the air!
(Intimidate: -1 Atk. CS on the Phantumps. Ice Fang: 13 to hit, 29 neutral damage)
Nette herself also let out a shout; but that was merely an insult of the Phantumps questionable lineage and a statement of the fact that they would make good mulch. The words were backed up by a razor sharp spray of leaves slicing trough the swarm.
(Razor Leaf: 12 to hit, 30 neutral damage)

"Oh! What brutes!" Olivier said, covering his mouth his hand plaintively. "Go on Nee! Help those poor souls!"
Then, she thrust his hand downfield as Nee leaped off his shoulders and landed down before the enemy. She shook cotton into the air, providing a handy distraction... Before slamming herself into the enemy largely ineffectually. Nah. Completely ineffectually. But her distraction would be able to allow others to help if they wished, which was the most important part!
Nee uses Beat Down!
Dark Struggle Attack! 15 to hit, 10 Neutral Damage!

"Come on, Solaire, Use Nature Power! Try to find a spot where it isn't a grass move."Isn't a grass move? But this is a forest! Not quite understanding what exactly his trainer wanted from him, the Sunkern just moved a meter to the left and fired up Nature Power. A glowing green ball of natural energy forms, coming up from the ground to hover in front of Solaire, before flying straight into the swarm of Phantump. "Aww c'mon," complains Helios, "You weren't even trying!"Nature Power turns into Energy Ball!
35 raw damage

Nette tries to take advantage from Nee's distraction, but her high sweep doesn't connect (5 to hit vs AC 7). Maybe still a bit dizzy?
Mawile on the other hand lands a solid glomp on one of the many phantumps (10 to hit vs AC 10) and gleefully squeezes it between her jaws (for 28 damage, neutral).

"Owww!" Bee groans in protest as the Phantump focused in on her. Between being the first attacker and throwing ice at them, she probably should've expected it, but it still hurts. She beckons to Lance to go to work, knowing he's got what it takes. "Let's see how many we can take out! Lance, use Powder Snow!"The little Swinub raises his head a little and breathes out a flurry of snowflakes that blasts through the swarm of Phantump, quite possibly engulfing several of them. It's not as strong as it might be - physical attacks are more Lance's forte - but it could quite easily make a big difference to the swarm. Meanwhile, Bee nocks another long icicle, firing it into the wake of Lance's little flurry, but she's not even sure she managed to strike one of the shadowy Pokémon. Lance's Powder Snow: 9 vs AC 2, 17 Special Ice Damage, Line 4 Bee's Ice Shard: 2 vs AC 2, 23 Physical Ice Damage

"Sage's Protection! Wondershield!" Olivier cried, holding his hand out towards Nette. A faint, silver glow envelops her, granting the spritely forest sprite a bit of extra protection!
Wait. She's a forest sprite! Wow!
Olivier uses Sage! For one round, Nettes Damage Reduction raises by 16, which is her Tick Value doubled!

Helios concentrates, forming a ball of light on the end of his wand colored to emulate the blazing orb of a Sunny Day. Waving it about, he shouts to attract the attention of the Phantump swarm, which hopefully would be distracted by this new source of sunlight. The ruse wouldn't work for long, but hopefully it would confuse the swarm during ts next attack. Flirt Maneuver: 14 vs enemy's Charm or Focus to infatuate for one turn

The assault clears a path through most of the Phantump, all of them flumping down to an assault of beatings and leaves. Only a few stand by, as they get ready to retreat from these terrible terrible people (in their opinion!), but they then get stopped by the pretty lights that Helios is shining around, back and forth. "Phaaaaaantuuuuump," they say as they start circling back and forth above Helios, following the end of his stick. Since that was pretty clever, I'll let the Phantumps not attack at all, even though that's technically not what Infatuation does.

"Okay, Solaire, now use Grasswhistle on the Phantump! Catching something in our first encounter would be a great start for the guild, and everybody will know that I helped it happen!"
As the soft notes of Grass Whistle lilt out from the Sunkern's leaf, the phantump begin to grow drowsy.
The phantump are now Asleep!

All pumped up and ready to smack around some more phantumps it takes a little while for Nette to notice they are not even trying to fight anymore. Her razor leaves are all conjured and ready to slice but it doesn't seem appropriate anymore. ...And that mesmerizing light ... so pretty! ... Eventually, with a confused nudge from her Mawile, she comes to her senses. With all blood(sap?)lust washed away she pulls out a pokéball and looks around for a phantump to bop. She quickly settles for the one that looks friendliest!
(19 to hit, 17 to capture)

Nee stares at the majestic sun in awe, seemingly also unaware of her enemies existence for a moment. She raises her leaves and basks in all of it's illuminator glory!
Nee uses Growth!

The Pokeball smacks one of the Phantump in the head, while it is very much dozing off while still chasing the pretty light in its sleep. The ball wiggles, but there is not much resistance before it settles down. Victory music, a Phantump is caught!

Nette stares at the ball as it wiggles faintly then disappears back to HQ. Then she stares at the empty air a bit longer. And *then* she erupts in a small cheer.
"Yeeey!"
To herself she adds with a noteworthy amount of glee. Hah! Vengeance! Her nose certainly felt alot better now. She *suspected* it was due to all the delicious nutrients her roots had found but the sweet taste of victory added the cerriberry on top!

Bee looks around warily, uncertain of whether the Phantump will disperse with so many already taken out and now Nette having caught one. This looks like their last chance... she throws a Pokéball of her own at another of the Phantump, crossing her fingers in hopes that it hits its mark. "Hang on, Lance, let's see if this works!"Pokéball go! AC vs 6: 11; Capture Roll: ... 4.

"Aha! Excelsior!" Olivier cried with joy. Seeing that Nette was having fun, Olivier decided to join in by tossing a Pokeball as well! What was the worst that could happen?

As the swarm dissipates in the wake of Nette's capture, Helios opts for nodding (and smirking) in approval, rather than a loud cheer. A few moments later, Olivier's perfect capture of empty air prompts him to roll his eyes, and add "Well, now that _that_ annoyance is over with, let's continue through the door. Hopefully, there will be no more ambushes this time..."
He decides to leave Solaire out of his pokeball, to get prepared for another fight with Ingrain.

"Yeah!" Nette exclaimed in response to Helios suggestion. She rubbed her nose a little and concentrated (activating another charge of life force for +8 hp) and grinned. "We beat them quite handily! Not bad for a first try... Let's see if they were guarding anything!" Nette looks trough the door, a bit more carefully this time.

Bee grimaces as she pokes at a bruise on her arm. "Who'd have figured ghosts left bruises?" She beckons to Lance gently and the little Swinub comes snuffling along at her heels as she moves into a rearguard position. She leans down to scratch behind where she thinks his ears are. "Good job, little guy."
She peers over Nette's and Helios's shoulders to see what's on the other side of the door, now that the answer presumably isn't "Phantump".
