"An excellent plan! Let us see what the cute little stumpers were hiding from us!" Olivier cried with a clap of his hands. He followed Nette in, having seen that she can handle herself well in an ambush situation.

The phantump begin to scatter, seeing their current situation as a losing fight. With one of their comrades captured a few phantump dash off while a few of the slower ones are hit by a few more balls. Bee's ball manages to hit, but the phantump is too strong and breaks out almost immediately causing the ball to break. Olivier's ball shines for a brief moment, but it's toss is rather wide and continues to roll between some trees. With the phantump now fully dispersed, the room behind the door is clearly visible. Without the distraction of the phantump a clear, repugnant odor exits the room and assaults your nostrils; calling the room uninviting would be a disservice to all future travelers who would visit this area in the future. Nevertheless, one of you must venture inside to map out the room to complete as much of the map as possible. Should one of you look through the remaining door going west, a long corridor of trees eventually splits into two parallel paths continuing west. Perception DC 10 for finding that stray ball, Olivier. Also each trainer gets 15 pokemon exp to give to their mons.

Bee pouts a little at the lack of success her throw encounters... and then wrinkles her nose at the odor escaping from the southern room. "Oh, yuck. That place reeks."
But it's a new place they have to map! Lance, at her feet, whines a little and attempts to bury his nose in the dirt outside the room. Bee looks around at the rest of the party. "I'll go in if somebody can come watch my back. I don't want to have to map, deal with the smell, and look out for Pokémon too."
Or they can look into the other door, but it's better to map out the malodorous room as soon as possible so they never have to go back, right?

Helios takes several steps back as the stench assaults him, his face scrunched up in disgust.
"Eugh, what died in there? I'm so not going into that room. C'mon, let's just go through this other door instead."

Nette sniffs loudly and frowns. Maybe something *did* die in here? Smells like the worst part of a swamp ... She picks up her little Mawlie whom seems to be gagging a little and covers her nose with a leaf.
"All right! I'll watch your back if we are quick ..." Nette offers and hurries after Bee.

The room is thankfully small and quite easy to map out taking, just a bit of time. There are no visible exits however, there is a small glowing light in the corner which you'd easily recognize as another search point. However, the light is overly faint. It appears that this point was already harvested today. Both Bee and Nithia lose 1 tick of hp from struggling to breathe in the terrible air.

Bee sketches a rough square in the right size and marks the point as quickly as she can, her lungs burning from trying to hold her breath. She nods to Nette and waves to her to get back out into the clearer air.
Once they're free of the stench and closing the door on the room, Bee lets out the breath she was holding explosively. "Gods, that was awful! I'm almost glad that point was harvested already. Who could stand the smell long enough to do that?" She pauses as she considers that question again. "Wait. Who did do that? Was someone here besides us...?"

"*Exhale inhale exhale inhale*" Nette was very happy once she was outside of that stinking room. It was moments like this when she truly appreciated the little things like normal non-toxic air! It took a minute or so before she felt well enough to do anything but breathe.
"Horrible. That was horrible!" she exclaimed and hugged her Mawile. "Maybe this is why the Phantumps wanted out? And maybe they took today's harvest from the node?"

Olivier is too busy fiddling with the bushes to actually respond to anything. His sight was a bit more spot onto today, but he was still painfully bad at actually finding anything really important. After a few moments of searching, he gives up the ghost.
"Perhaps one of us took it already and forgot!" Olivier interjects. "I know that I always forget when I do something sometimes! I just sort of do it and, poof! It's like it never happened at all!

"Are you a lackwit?" Helios responds to Olivier's scatterbrained suggestion, scoffing, "I'm pretty sure we'd remember being somewhere that stinks like that. Besides, there was only one path through to this spot, passing through only one room. Unless the geometries of this place are really messed up, I don't think a room behind us can also be a room that appears to the side of us like this."

Olivier pouted in response, before flicking his hair majestically. "Well! I don't see you suggesting anything better!"
Unfortunately however, in flicking his hair he dislodged the poor, buoyant body of Nee who landed with a small bounce and a topple. She rolled a little bit before stopping upside down with a dour expression. Nee was quickly learning to dislike her trainer a little. However, all at once she perked up. Her little eyes were sharper than his, and in the underbrush she spotted a small, reddish and whitish glimmer.
She rolled herself over and leaped towards it, grabbing the ball and pushing it out of the underbrush where her dullard of a trainer could find it.
"Oh! There you are! Ooh~! And there YOU are!" He exclaimed, pocketing the Pokéball and giving Nee a tight squeeze! "Thank you my lovely! What good eyes you have!"
Then he turned back to his companions, where all was forgiven already. "Now! We've two paths, north and south! I would suggest the northern path myself. Perhaps it will circumvent the sleeping giant!"

The northern of the two paths turns to the north with an immediate room to explore. The southern path turns south after a bit, then east after which it also splits into two paths, both going east. Many trees nearby show signs of previous interaction as you can easily see "Robert+Jannie" carved within a heart shape into a tree. A few other trees have been marked with what can only be described as poor attempts at guild insignias. There are various other markings on the trees to see.

"North then!" Nette agrees and lead the way. Hopefully this room would contain something nice! FOE and stinking Phantumps in the last two - now it must be time for something good! she reasons.

Helios follows Nette into the north room, barely glancing at the vandalism on the nearby trees.
Maybe this room wouldn't throw any more curveballs at the party, but Helios sure wouldn't bet on it.

Bee's back in the back, busily charting out their course. Luckily, she's pretty good at drawing a map with just her hand for a solid surface, though occasionally she'll pause and use a tree for a writing desk when she has trouble.
"I guess guilds come through here fairly often?" she muses quietly. "With the carving all over the trees and everything. Wish somebody had put up a warning about the FOE before us, though. Think we'll run into anybody? I mean, somebody was in the stinky room just today, obviously." She's chattering more to occupy her mouth while she works than anything, as they turn into the room on the northern path.

"We may." Olivier said nodding. He put his finger onto the little bits of scratched bark and smiled. It was all quite positively romantic! "I wonder if we should scratch something ourselves; a little, 'We were here', you know? And... Oh!"
The half-elf stops for a moment in the middle of the path, takes out a piece of paper, and begins scribbling frantically. "Should we ever start running into a wee-little ghostie, I'm sure that you might like having a little protection against them!"
With that, he tittered like a bird and slapped the first of two cleanse tags onto Helios' back heartily. The other he pinned nobly to his chest. Probably so he wouldn't forget about it's existence. For being a ditz, the tag actually seemed very well designed with ornate runic markings. Perhaps if they ever ran into Ghosts again, it would allow it's user to use Normal and Fighting Type moves on Ghosts for a time!
---
Olivier makes Cleanse Tags!
The first has been pinned to Helios, strength 20!
The second has been pinned to Olivier, strength 19!

Though not too wide, the room to the north is definitely a bit longer than most. It has a river surrounding a tiny island that splits the room into a northern and southern spot. Across the water, you can see a search point and a path that continues north. For no discernible reason, the water rushes somewhat rapidly around the island making it hard to traverse.

"Hey, what did you-" Helios scrabbles at his back, and manages to get the tag off with a little bit of effort.
"Please don't do that again, airhead. I don't need your scribbles." Helios says somewhat haughtily. However, if anyone is paying attention, they'll notice that he keeps the tag anyway...

Bee looks across the river wistfully at the out-of-reach item spot. She doesn't think she trusts herself to make it across the river. "Geez. That's two now we can't get. Gotta remember this is here... One of these days we'll find another one that somebody hasn't looted. I mean, unless somebody's got bright ideas about getting across."
She sketches a little star on the map like she did for the other spots. "I guess we should head south instead, if we can't get over here?"

"Aww. But that was one of my better scribbles." Olivier says, deflating immediately as all of the winds out of his wondrous sails blew out in tandem. Even Nee felt sad via head osmosis. However, he quickly forgot his sadness as he pounced toward the river thrust his staff into the water.
"Whoo! That's deep. I think you're right, it'll be a little while before we can make it across." He shrugs, shaking his head sadly. "It's not like we can cut down a tree or something and then use that as a bridge. We don't have any choppity axes!"
