Cloyster #3 goes boom, and Cloyster #2 gets zapped. It didn't like that any more than its companion did. It gets in close and slashes with razor-sharp edges on its shell.

After finishing off the Cloyster and patching herself up as needed, Lia gets ready to head onward. Out of the corner of her eye, she spots movement near the icy pool the Cloyster were hanging around. There is a brief splash as something dives into the water. Moments later, a humanoid figure pops out, carrying one fish in their mouth and one more in each hand. They throw the two extra fish out onto the ground as they haul themselves out of the water. They briefly drop to all fours and shake vigorously to get the water off of them. Now that they are out of the water, it seems plain to Lia that this is not a human. At least, not entirely.

The...girl? woman? is covered in a very fine coat of pale blue fur, almost blending in with the permafrost on the walls. Is she.. a hybrid like Sasha?! What? How? Why? So many questions, so little time. No sooner has Lia unconsciously taken a step towards this strange being when the blue-furred ears atop the hybrid?'s head twitch and she looks in Lia's direction. Her eyes lock onto Lia's for a long moment, as if both sides dare the other to move first. Before Lia can so much as proclaim her surprise, the being's expression darkens and she begins to rapidly charge up an icy attack within her fanged mouth. Oh boy, Lia knows what's coming next. That's a Blizzard attack! Only her wealth of experience from both here and the Fuschia City Gym allows her to dive out of the way of the oncoming attack in time to avoid being frozen solid. By the time it has cleared, the person/hybrid/whatever is gone, probably run off to hide someplace nearby.

Lia's luck seems to hold, as nothing accosts her on the way across the open area. As she approaches one of the small side passages, she hears noises. It sounds like... eating? Did she just inadvertently discover where the hybrid is hiding out? No sooner has she stopped to consider this then she realizes the eating sounds stopped. Likely they heard her coming and have either gone silent to try and hide better or are waiting in ambush.

After moving away from the hybrid's lair, Lia heads down a nearby tunnel, eventually finding a giant hole in the ground. Judging by the sudden drop in temperature around the hole, this must be where Articuno roosts; or at least leads to it. Backtracking a bit, Lia continues down the side passage that seems to gradually be heading down deeper beneath the water level outside. Re-entering the cavern proper, Lia notices she's now on the other side of that giant chasm from earlier. She also spots another giant hole in the ground, this one much larger than the last. Looks like it just drops straight down.
