On second thought, I think I'm going to back out. Give other people a chance to apply. Sorry to hear that, but good luck with any other games/apps you partake in!

Posting interest as a Steel Ace. What do I do for a starter that has no egg moves listed? (And is it ok to start w/2 steel monsters. I'm looking at Magnemite, Bronzor, Aron and Pineco)

Which Pokemon were you wanting to use that has no egg moves listed? Also, Pineco itself is not Steel, it merely evolves into Steel. (Not an issue, just pointing it out.)

Well yeah, its just one of the starters I was considering. (Also Piplup). Bronzor is the one I'm considering that doesn't have egg moves.
I'm looking at Steelheart - how do you feel about type syncs?

I'd prefer Type Syncs not happen at the start. Later on, they'll be available. I guess select an appropriate Tutor move from its list to replace the Egg move.

Awesome. I definitely wasn't planning on starting with type sync anyway, but its something to aim for

Hey I'm interested in your have and wondering exactly where you are in the game and what kind of rules you have for character creation. Did you not read the first post? Or the copy of that post in the middle of the second page? If not, please go read one of those. It should tell you all you need to know.

A notice to all applicants: Please have at least a rough draft of your character sheet done by 10PM MDT. (US Mountain Daylight Time; GMT-7)
Recruitment is officially closed to new applicants, but anyone who has already posted in here is still in the running. Final decision will be made sometime tomorrow (the 6th of June).

So far it looks like there is only one person with a sheet.. if nobody else is able to post one by 12PM MDT tomorrow, they get the last slot automatically (if they still want it). Recruitment is also officially closed now.

The idea I've decided to stick with is Eve V. Lucian. She's pretty much the quintessential girl next door. She's mostly pleasant, but just like anyone else, she's got her own troubles and past. Looking at her, you wouldn't expect anything special. Ace Trainer/Prism/Researcher(Artificer,Pokemon). She's a combination of two build concepts, which were really just an eevee lover artificer and an artificer/prism combination for the two highest db moves a trainer can get. Tossed in Ace Trainer as just about the only passive pokemon support class, aside from mentor, that would benefit all the Eevee. Fourth class will likely be Arcanist but Juggler does seem tempting to help mitigate the inherent Eeveelution weakness of being very monotype (in typing and movesets). EDIT - Artificer shards: 218 shards total, divided equally into 6 gives me 36 of each shard and 2 odd shards. Eeveelution TM and tutor moves: forums.pokemontabletop.com/topic/30044321/1/#newEeveelution Evolution: Automateon (steel eevee) - level up in a strong magnetic field. Illuseon (ghost eevee) - level up while holding a reaper cloth. Dungeon (ground) - level up holding a soft sand, obsideon (rock eevee) - level up holding a protector Draconeon requires a dragon scale and a place sacred to dragon types I guess we can say that each of the others require a "type plate" of the appropriate type. They have no listed book price, so you'd have to find them.

Three character ideas. Core concepts and builds are down. Some details, such as inventory and collection rolls, will be filled in over time. If more information is needed for any of the characters, aside from inventory, then please let me know. For example, more specific explanations for why Eve has 5 fake Eeveelutions than just, "she studied Eevees a lot and spent a lot of time going to places and trying different things." Talking about Eve, let's introduce her first. Eve V. Lucian is pretty much the girl next door. Up next is Angel Versa, who was the original character I was going to submit for this recruitment. He's the provocative jerk with a sort of silver heart who's trying to become a better person. The core of his build is supposed to be Provocateur/Trickster, but he's got a complete set of Tumbler feats just for that awesome capstone I probably won't reach in most games. As for his Pokemon, they were mostly chosen individually with consideration for his Trickster class. We'll find out in time whether or not his team actually works. Finally, I introduce the talented Hana Im. She's the triple psychic with the team I couldn't decide on so I literally created a team that just copied the opponent (mimic and transform) or had metronome. For Hana, this adventure is one of self-discovery, both of herself and her powers. Already, she's found herself a lot stronger than she thought she was, and she expected a lot considering the high expectations people had of her. When she really thinks about the extent to which she can bend or even just ignore the laws of reality, she finds it a little disconcerting. However, as her progress, as anyone else's, had been gradual, she doesn't usually notice just how scary the implications of her powers could be. As expected, a triple psychic threat with Telekinetic/Telepath/Warper. Supported with a high Acrobatics skill and her trusty Honedge, she can strike from interesting angles at both long and close range... or at least that's what I'd imagine. Her Pokemon team is mostly all over the place. Like I said, I couldn't decide, so I decided that Hana found Pokemon with interesting gimmicks... well... interesting. Aside from the Honedge and the Clefable, I don't think most people would find Hana's Pokemon being used seriously on anyone else's team. All three sheets look mostly okay, but the current party is all around 15-17, so having someone 7-10 years older than them join the party would be rather jarring. Aside from that, what did these characters spend all these years doing? Okay, they did stuff during their childhood, maybe on into their early teens, but only the academic seems to have a real reason for that, given that most "high schools/primary schools" end around age 17-18. However, even then, your backstory indicates that they spent only a year-ish in secondary school (college) when they realized they preferred a more active learning style. What made them decide to be a trainer instead of, say, becoming an understudy to a professor who does a lot of field work, such as Birch in Hoenn? Also, you need to pick one to officially submit, even if you hold off on inventory until you learn whether or not you've been accepted. I mentioned this in the Skype chat previously when it was asked if multiple apps were allowed. I like the idea behind all of these apps, but you still need to pick just one. If you can't choose, then just roll a 1d3 and pick the one corresponding to the die result. P.S. - All of your trainers say they're short a single level-up point.

Alright, so I've narrowed the selection to one, Eve. Sorry about that, I must have forgotten when you said one app only. I am now working on a more in-depth answer to this post by just creating a google doc for the character's backstory. I guess I'll pop you a message in your skype chat when it's done so I don't clog this thread, which is also why I just edited my original post with my decision instead of creating a brand new one... that I'm doing anyways... Ah. Whatever. I can't finish the google doc tonight, but I'll give you a quick answer to you questions in this post. Originally, the times I put in for Eve were just placeholders and I admit that amidst the various other edits to my character's fluff, I forgot to double check to see that everything made sense. Aha. Sorry about that. As for why Eve decided to not become an understudy, it was 1) because I didn't know if the Eevee siblings would be accepting any or who else to name as an Eevee specialist and 2) because being an understudy would severely limit Eve's ability to travel and train her own Pokemon, something that was important for her change in education. Of course, that's all originally. To better mesh with the party and make everyone feel less awkward, Eve will be getting younger. I still want to keep that "I'm older than I look!" aspect, though, so will 19 work? With the younger age, I'll probably change the story so that Eve took, like, a semester of college before deciding to set off into the bigger world for the reasons mentioned above. Depending on the month, her time on her solo adventure can vary, but it's the same general idea. She was busy doing her own stuff and some of it took a really long time. I mean, if everyone stumbled onto a fake eeveelution within a month of their journey, then the Eevee siblings probably wouldn't be surprised to find that someone else has figured out how to evolve an Automateon/. Well... even if Eve did stumble upon a fake eeveelution once a month, that's still five months for all five of her Eevees... not to mention finding and catching them. In case you were wondering, Eve does have plans to return to college/university.

- Like I said, I don't mind people offering multiple app ideas, so long as they settle on one to make 'official'. - Placeholders for background stuff is also fine, so long as the end result makes some sense. - While 19 is still a bit older than most, with Eve's late start to the Trainer scene in favor of a normal education, it's fine. - In-game, just under a month has passed since the group started their journey (just reaching Day 30). - No need to rush to finish up your app, there is still plenty of time before the big crunch. - The Eevee sisters are notable mainly because of their family's breeding services. They breed Eevee for a living and give them to the various Professors around the Pokemon World for beginner trainers (Eevee is obviously very popular). They themselves are also exceptional in the battling department, each with their own style of battling. Despite this notoriety, they tend to travel alone and are difficult to track down. Additionally, they are not actual 'researchers' per se, but simply passionate trainers who work exclusively with Eevee. - The "new" Eeveelutions are not common knowledge, though there are rumors of their existence. Similarly to the Champion's Mega Milotic, you'd have to see it to believe it (though in the Champion's case, it was recorded as part of her title match vs Lance). - It took incredible luck for the Eevee sisters to stumble upon the first of these "other" evolutionary forms, and in truth, they kept most of their findings secret to avoid a huge influx of people inadvertently harming Eevees trying to get them to evolve into a different type than "normal". (Where "normal" is the standard five forms.) - The most approachable (and youngest) of the Eevee sisters is Emily, so if you want to add me on Skype personally, we can discuss how/where/when your character could have met her to determine how you learned about the 'other' Eeveelutions.

Posting this as a placeholder here! I'm definitely going to be submitting something, based on the concept of "N, but without his message co-opted by Ghetis the puppy-kicker and his merry band of incompetents." Also, quite possibly the single most non-combatant character I've ever made - Oracle/Channeler for sure, and then some combination of Mentor, Sage, and Commander. He doesn't "do" combat, really, but he can make his team really, really good at it.
As an aside, I have a backstory-oriented question: relative to the game's current time, when did the first Team Plasma crisis happen in Unova? I'm thinking that maybe this guy's parents dragged him from Unova after that incident, and he hoped that battles would be "cleaner" here, was proven VERY wrong, and has set out to do something about it.

If your character doesn't do combat, they're going to have a very difficult time with this game where trainer combat is mandatory for the League. Based on the unofficial pokemon timeline on Bulbapedia, the events of the Generation V games (Black and White) happened approximately 6 years after the events of Gen I/III/ORAS (which all happened concurrently). Thus, given this game's setting of "30 years after the events of R/B/Y", the first Team Plasma crisis would have happened approximately 24 years ago, and the second crisis (B2/W2) happened 2 years later.
