Recruitment is re-opened. (8/19/17)
Recruitment is now closed. (9/6/17)
Final deadline of WIP applications is September 9.
Welcome (back) to the world of Pokémon!
Thirty years have passed since the "olden days", when only 150(1) species of pokémon were known, and Pallet was just a small little town whose most notable feature was the Pokémon Laboratory. Back then, the "Legendary Trainers", Red and Blue, set records by demolishing the eight Gyms of Kanto and sweeping through the Elite Four to claim the title of "Champion"; Team Rocket was put to bed once and for all, the list of events goes on. In the years since, technology levels have increased dramatically, and more and more species of Pokémon were discovered in other regions of the world. These days, you probably wouldn't even recognize Pallet Town for what it used to be. What hasn't changed though, is the desire to see the world, meet new people and Pokémon, and generally just fulfill your dreams of being a "Pokémon Master" (whatever that term means to you). Are you ready? Let's get started!

Re-Recruitment
I'm reviving this recruitment post once again to seek out a 4th player to round out the roster.
The current party is a Berserker/Normal Ace/Mentor, a Steelheart/Steel Ace/Defense Ace, and a Telepath/Provocateur/Duelist/Capture Specialist. I prefer to have some variety in the party, but feel free to make whatever you like. The party is TL 27 with 6 Milestones, 61 Misc XP and 137 Dex XP (dex entries are shared among the party). Don't worry too much about getting all the numbers exactly right for your application. So long as you are TL 27 in the app, it'll work out. If you are accepted, I will work with you to get a rough estimate of the numbers you need; the party has different levels of milestones and misc xp.
Restrictions/details: DPDoM is allowed, except for Jailbreaker and Glitch Bender. B&D is banned. GoT is encouraged, but by no means required. No Alola mons.
Some other information: When creating your Trainer, you may select 2 Underdog Pokemon to start with (plenty of opportunities to get more). One of these must have 3 stages. Both of these begin with 1 Egg Move as per the September Playtest Rules. If your chosen Pokemon has no Egg Move list, you may select an appropriate Tutor Move instead.
Setting: Kanto, 30 years after the events of R/B/Y.
A brand new roster of Gym Leaders and Elite Four!
Gym Challenges have an optional** Full-Contact Mode, but Elite Four/Champion Battles require it.
You begin play withP7000, as well as a Pokedex and 6 Great Balls. You may use this money to purchase TMs, but are restricted from buying any that are worth more than 3000.
If you have any further questions about something that isn't listed in this recruitment or the Rules thread (linked below), please ask. There is a special Skype chat that I have set up specifically for this re-recruitment so that players can talk among one another or contact me more easily. Skype is used for OOC and general tomfoolery in this game, and whoever is chosen for the game will be invited to join that chat at the end of the recruitment period.
Additional Info as of 8/19/17:
The average Pokemon level is 30, and you may have up to 6 Pokemon with you when you create your trainer (though you may have fewer than that if you wish, the levels stay the same). One of the two Underdog Pokemon mentioned above is considered your "Starter". The only thing this affects is obedience. The Loyalty mechanic from the Core Rulebook is not in use, instead, your number of Badges are what determine whether or not your Pokemon will obey you. Details on this can be found in the official rules thread in the game's sub-forum found here. Currently, the party is finishing up the exploration of Mt. Moon Basement level 2, so the recruited character will be joining up when the group returns to Cerulean.
On XP: As mentioned, all Dex XP is shared among the party in order to keep everyone around the same level. There is a separate Google Sheet used to track these that is editable by all participating players. Misc XP may vary depending on your win/loss ratio in standard "rolled" battles (see rules thread linked above), but you should generally be able to stay within 1-2 levels of the rest of the party. The party has 3 badges currently (with one player having recently obtained their 4th). New recruits start with 3: Desert (Pewter), Maelstrom (Cerulean), and Lightning (Vermillion).
Some fakemons are in use, and these include the addition of "fake" (aka - unofficial) mega evolutions. I'm trying to limit the number of these in play, but feel free to make a request for one if there is a particular fakemon that you've always wanted to use.
On the subject of Mega Evolution: While one of the players has recently obtained their desired Mega Stone, new players will still have to complete their "Mega Quest" to obtain it. You may create your trainer with a Mega Item of your choice (ex. Mega Ring, Mega Necklace, Mega Barrett). The Mega Quest varies depending on the Pokemon in question, and can involve anything from puzzle solving to battling.
***Please read the linked Rules thread carefully, as it contains important information about House Rules!***
* - DPDoM Eeveelutions are in use, so if you'd like one of those, feel free to say so.
** - The Vermillion and Cinnabar Gyms require Full-Contact.
** - The Viridian Gym (Chaos Badge) is special in that trainers don't fight in the battle, but features/edges that are normally non-League are allowed.
