The Bagon pauses at the interruption and swivels, irately. But then perks up a bit when 'fly' is mentioned. The Milotic radiates curiosity with what Parish is planning...

"Okay so... Bagon, this is Milotic. Milotic this is Bagon. You two are neighbors, isn't that great?". Parish introduced them. "I figure, if Milotic uses it's tail to help, you would go a lot higher, and hang in the air longer. You could be friends!"

There's a lot of staring at him in confusion. From the two Pokémon, and from the three humans. Only Hero seems to be enthusiastic, chirping out an affirmation and waving arms. But it's never entirely certain if he knows exactly what's going on in the first place.
The silence is broken by the Milotic using said tail, and splashing it into the water, soaking Shane again. Who storms off far away, muttering.
"...how do you feel like Milotic's tail could help?" Rebecca asks.

"Well, lift is about upward momentum, Milotic could get a good arc going pitching the Bagon, either into the adjacent pool which would be a shorter walk back, or off the cliff at which point the tail strength should amount to a longer jump arc with a longer high point... Maybe I should demonstrate...". Parish has a seat on that broad fin, and asks for a toss.

There's a shriek from the Milotic, as the tail is abruptly drawn back into the water the instant Parish puts pressure on it. He finds himself in the water, pulled with the tail's momentum. The Milotic does not look happy. Nor does it radiate contentment anymore.
"Parish..." Rebecca says, hesitantly. "You should always ask before touching a Pokémon. Even if it rubs up against you first or something, it's polite to ask."

"Oh... Oh jeez...". Parish looks immediately distraught, worry, fear, and reticence radiating from him. "I'm really sorry... Please don't be mad... I didn't realize your tail was so sensitive.". Closing his eyes and covering his ears, he just let himself float in the cold water, hunched up.

The serpent retreats a bit in the water, only letting the top of its head stay out, staring at him. There's definitely a lot more wariness coming from it now, and less enthusiasm.
The Bagon snorts, having jumped back at the shriek, and has wandered back to its favorite cliff.
There's not really any talk from the humans on land, as Parish is left to soak to his own devices. The Milotic doesn't seem to be mad, just... disappointed.

When he does finally unfurl, the boy struggled to find his voice with it watching him. This wasn't a feeling he was used to. "I'm really sorry, is there anything I can do to make it up to you? It's a very pretty tail..."

There are a few languid blinks, before it shakes its head. It's seems to understand his contrition, though, and it's come to terms with the event. It just sort of... killed its enthusiasm. It doesn't wish him any ill will, it's just... not really in the mood to play anymore.

"Okay... Well... I hope you and the Bagon can still be friends someday. Sorry again. It was nice meeting you.". Sullen, he makes to climb out of the pond and excuses himself, detangling from the Milotic's mental space. He kind of wanted to be alone, but he was out with friends.
Hero gave the snake a tiny fin wave, and a burbling goodbye before squishing along after his trainer.

There's a gentle 'mrrrrr…' from the Milotic, as it rubs its head up against Parish, before slipping back into the depths below.
There's silence, before Faith quietly says, "You can't always make the right decisions in life. What matters is how you move on from them."

"It was having such a nice day, and I messed that up. Later doesn't matter right now, right now matters right now. Right now I feel bad, so I will remember this later.". He sprawled out on the rocks to dry out a little and just laid there, staring up at the sky.

"It's never an easy thing..." she says, staring off into the distance. "Each mistake hurts. But you can't let every mistake shut you down. Regret, pain, sorrow... all are valid emotions. But the later is just as important as the now. You can't dwell so much on the now, that you never move past it..."
"Mistakes are how we learn. How we grow. The only true mistake is failing to change because of it. You will never do everything perfectly. We're only human, after all."

"I guess it was bound to happen eventually... Moss didn't like his tail or head being touched either.". Parish sat up. "I did the equivalent of walking into someone's house and grabbing their behind. Twice. AND I didn't get to show the Bagon my neat idea."
Sputtering he rolled into the larger pool and swam towards the falls. "If I wasn't always behind everyone, I wouldn't be learning basic social skills now.". He grumbled as he swam along.

"Everyone has to learn sometime," Rebecca says, taking a seat at the edge of the water. "So don't feel bad about your upbringing. About how you are. Everyone's different, and learns different things at their own pace. And you aren't behind," she adds. "You've got skills and knowledge that people over here could only dream of."

Parish paused his swimming, and was going to retort, when Hero draped the deelies over his eyes and asked "ChouuOoou?". A little laugh, and a slow smile. "Is it a big fish in a little lake, wanting to take me to school?"
"Chiiii~". "Okay, okay, mister talks without touching. "I'll play with you. I'll be fine you guys. I didn't get this far by not learning? Let's just... Move on? Going to catch Hero again first!"
Hero was not very good at tag. He enjoyed being picked up too much and often waited for his trainer. Still, they got around the larger pond and had a good time.

Rebecca seems content to just watch by the poolside, while Shane tries to find the sunniest patches to sit in to try and dry their clothes. Faith's let out a small bug and a fairy with a flower, and has just spent time sitting against a rock talking to them, and letting them flit around.
It seems as if everyone's found a thing to do that they enjoy as the day trickles on.
After a while, Parish feels something sleek and notices that there seems to be a blue serpentine Pokémon with finned ears and wide inquisitive eyes rubbing around his legs. It's far smaller than the Milotic, but still very long. Lake noodle.

"Oh, hello!". He waves at the smaller noodle. "Today is a day of long thin things! All of them have been really nice.". He lets out flying colors to float over the water. "Look Colors, Blue! A really nice Blue too!"

Flying Colours peers at the blue noodle. The blue noodle peers back. There's staring, and more staring, and lots of staring... until the bluedle finally closes its eyes and lets out a happy noise, dancing and swimming around.
The noise seems to break the tension, and Colours gets more animated, floating around and looking at all the different surfaces, and the waterfall, and everything, the noodle seeming to guide it along and chitter all the way.

"Oh, I suppose you wouldn't have seen sheets of water across rocks, or a lot of other colors in high places.". Parish surfaces under Hero and trails along after the pair, in a better mood watching them vocalize back and forth and play a little. "Blue, how come noodles like high places so much? Moss came up here, and my big friend in the other pond was a noodle, and you're a noodle."
