Robin nods, speaking quickly even as she thinks. "Not a bad idea, though if they're fighting this hard, gotta be something that started it, so we better be careful not to mess with anything that'd get their attention." She shakes her head, thinking about what she'd just said. "Don't s'pose there was any clue what the fight's about, huh? Well, hope there's a way around them at least."

"This looks territorial to me. Judging by how ill-fitting their armor is, they may be close to evolving. These are two powerful beasts and are trying to exert their influence on this section of the mountain with only each other in their way." She looks back at the melee and resounding blows, admiring their strength.
"Quite a beautiful spectacle, really." She turns back to her companions.
"We should definitely go around, though. Interrupting them now would be... Foolish." She says emphatically.

Robin chuckles and shakes her head. "And here was me thinking a peace march and a well-timed speech'd do the trick. Let's go with the sneaksy plan."

"Yes, go around, as far as we can. Got it!" Benji says, hugging Yash more, before tucking him deep in his hoodie. "No noises now, Yash, please. We need to get around quietly, ok"?
Sighing deeply, Benji removes his shoes, allowing his toes to get adjusted to the dirt before turning to the others. "Ok, let's do this. Everyone ready?" he says, smiling towards the others giving a thumbs up with one hand and his shoes on the other.
As soon as the group finishes preparations, Benji follows the expert, waiting for Jean-Marie to take the lead once again.

She looks around at her friends, sizing up their ability to avoid detection. If she makes an evaluation, it isn't obvious.
"Okay, here is the plan. We are going around the bend to the more stable shoulder below the plateau. That should give us enough distance to avoid being spotted by the Lairon. The loose gravel and incline will make it a little bit unsteady, however. It should not be too difficult but stay behind me so you can mimic my footfalls." She turns to watch the brawl again.
"This should keep us far enough away that they will not notice us, but still maintain a low profile and voice. We are still in eyeshot, after all." She turns back to face her companions again, appearing startlingly sober for the normally cheery girl.
"If they do notice us, get to flat ground and run. We cannot outpace them, but the distance should give us enough of a headstart that they should tire or grow bored before they reach us. Any questions?" She declares, startling herself somewhat. Yveltal, I sound like my mother.

Survival check: Onl2PbDm3d6+2Stealth check: 2d6 Robin gives a salute, smiling to hide his worry at her ability to remain undetected. I didn't choose this outfit for how well it blends in, after all.
Still, she does her best, trusting Rowan to let her know if anything happens behind her from his perch over her shoulder.3d6+2·2d6

With a look of absolute concentration on his face, Benji follows Jean-Marie's footfalls precisely, trying to keep low and quiet, and also trying to ignore the frightening creatures that might look at them at any minute now. Still, his eyes never leave his guide's steps as the group traverse around the plateau.

With practised, almost casual, ease, Jean-Marie slinks down from the laid out path onto the gravelly slope below, guiding her companions to keep their footing and stay unnoticed. Without issue, she moves past the Lairon, feeling secure that the noise of their battle would mask any small sounds they might make, and that their attention would be too focused on each other for them to spot you. Apart from a close slip up from Robin, who is quickly caught by Benji (who almost seems to move before Robin trips), the three of you make it past the Lairon without issue, returning to the path once you've most past a bend and are out of sight of the metallic behemoths.
The rest of the day passes by without much incidence, and after a couple more hours of travel, the sun starts to set, and Jean-Marie leads you all to a small hollow in the mountains, set up by the Ranger Corp to act as a shelter for travellers. Everyone take 1 Trainer Exp

As soon as the group reaches the hollow, Robin swings off his pack and squats down, pulling out his cooking supplies.
"Right, anyone got any preferences for what we're having..." he trails off for a moment before sighing, "...is a question I really should've asked when we were in town and I was picking up supplies, but there we are. Guess all the shakeups took my mind off it. But, yeah, got a few options, what are we thinking?"
A chirrup from his shoulder makes him roll his eyes as he puts Rowan down, as well as releasing Aubrey. "Well, obviously I've got some spice powder for you, Rowan. And I'll try to get a good selection for you to try from, Aubrey, see what you like, but other than that?"

After the stressful events with the lairon, Benji enjoys the rest of the trip, making small talk with the others, playing with his own pokémon, and just plainly appreciating the views. He takes some time to carve a bit of the most interesting sights on the way, to work on another of his bracelets later, but mostly just gladly moves away from what could have been a problem.
As the group settles for the night, Benji offers to look for wood and make a small fire. It's not much, really, but what else could he do? Going around camp and searching for small branches and dry limber, he also draws small protective sigils around camp, just in case. After he gathers enough, he makes the fire in the center of the camp and starts working on his tent with Maha's help.
"Oh, don't worry about us, Robin," Benji answers, as he deftly prepares his tent with the machop's aid. "Having good food as yours is more than enough for us. Yash and I are used to mostly snacking on fruits and candies when we travel, so any warm meal would be more than welcome. I hope it would be the same for Maha..." he says, eyeing the machop who firmly nods.

Jean-Marie nods in agreement with Benji's comments. "We also have been primarily subsisting on foraged goods for food. I would be happy to find some to help supplement your plan, but do not worry, our palates are quite unrefined." She smiles, cocking her head to the side. All signs of her seriousness before have long since evaporated.

Robin chuckles. "Well, that's good to hear, since I'm thinking that Caviar and Foie Gras Paté with Saffron-stuffed Lobster and Truffle Champagne might be just a little out of our price range."
That said, she gets to work whipping up an omelette for everyone, taking a moment to sniff her various herb bottles to get a good flavour combination in her head before adding it. "Hmm, Sage and Thyme, I think. Maybe some chives to level it out," she mutters to herself as she works.

As the evening progresses, a meal is had by the three of you, Robin's cooking making what would otherwise most likely be a rather plain ordeal a proper dinner, the simplicity of the ingredients elevated to something much more with Robin's skill. You pass the meal, and the time after that, together, either with light chatting or companionable silence, before the three of you, one by one, let sleep take you, the darkness taking hold quickly after a long day.
Benji
You find yourself on a cliff overlooking a clear blue ocean. The sky is clear, and the sun is shining down on the land, though you can feel no heat from it. Looking down, you find nothing where your body should be. Looking behind you, you see a village next to the delta of a slow moving river, a thick forested area nearby. The village, and buildings, feel at the same time familiar and foreign, like you should recognize it, but can't.
Suddenly, you experience your first sense of physical touch, as a warm, lazy breeze brushes past you, carrying with it a multitude of whispering voices, all overlapping. In the cacophony, only one word stands out, in the Samsara's native tongue. 'Home.' Just as suddenly as the voices had come, they leave, as the wind grows, the howling growing stronger as you are ripped away from this point, finding yourself, for but a brief moment, out at sea, the sky dark and grey, waves high and tumultuous. This visage, however, abruptly falls away, as your vision goes black...
As the dream passes and you return to deep slumber, your sleep, for now, uninterrupted.
The Next Morning
One by one, the three of you wake up, two of you having had an uneventful, if restful, night, and the third feeling half memories of something drifting at the edge of his mind.

Benji wakes up early, as usual, feeling quite well-rested as he lazily stretches out before some distant recollection wanders through his mind and he's instantly awake. As the memory of the dream gets clearer and clearer, he tries very hard not to panic, holding back tears as he rummages through his backpack for some paper and crayons. His hands shake as he tries to sketch something to remind him of the dream later, but he is barely able to represent a single building on the cliff before the details start to disappear from his mind. He can't seem to recognize anything but a single word from the vision, despite how familiar it felt. When he's finished, he finally notices Yash curled up on his lap, worry in its eyes.
"Oh, hey, Yash!" he says, wiping the moisture from his eyes, "Sorry, it's all good now. Thanks!" He hugs his pokémon tightly, and the yungoos licks the boy's face in return. After almost a whole minute like that, he lets Yash go and starts getting up, and a few minutes later he's all set. It's still quite early and the girls don't see to be up yet, so he decides to run a bit. It's been a while.
A few yards away from the camp, he releases Maha and the trio begins a slow jog nearby, trying not to go too far away. They eventually reach a point with a nice view, and Benji removes his hoodie, crumples it up, and screams a few times into the fabric to muffle the sound. Maha looks at Yash, who simply seems to ignore their trainer, so he too decides better not to worry and the two pokémon sit a bit to relax. After a few minutes of venting his anxiety, Benji and his party return in a much lighter mood.
"Come on, girls, it's time to wake. We still have a long way to go!" he calls them from outside their tents.

Robin sighs as he hears Benji calling out. He'd been awake for a short while, but hadn't wanted to move or make noise in order to avoid disturbing what he was seeing: Rowan and Aubrey outside the tent, basking in the early morning sunlight. Having Pokemon who could subsist on such things had always been an advantage, even if he generally fed them anyway, but even without that, he loved it just for the joy on Rowan's face as he absorbed it. And having Aubrey in the picture too, still new to the idea and freshly enamored with it, just completed the picture.
Still, Benji's call, while probably for the best, does kill the moment and, as his Pokemon turn to him, he gives a passably-believable fake yawn and groan and starts wriggling his way out of his sleeping bag. "'kay, I'm up."

Jean-Marie opens her eyes to the clear mountain air, smiling at the rays shearing through the trees. She takes a moment to stretch and enjoy the light before addressing her companions.
"I am up too! How did you guys sleep?"

"Fantastic!" Benji quickly exclames as he finishes packing his things. "I feel compltely rested, which is good because we still have quite a way to go. I was thinking we could do a quick training session on the move, maybe? You know, agility and reflex and all that..." he proposes, his satchel already in place. He wants to get moving as soon as possible, but he tried to sound casual about his hurry.

Robin's eyebrow quirks ever-so-slightly at how quickly Benji's moving, but doesn't say anything or make any obvious expression. Going a bit quick, aren't we? Didn't think we were in that much of a rush. Probably nothing, but...
After a moment's thought, she shrugs. "Fine by me. And, hey, if breakfast really was the most important meal of the day, wouldn't be so easy to skip it, would it?" She rubs his eyes a little and squats down, fiddling with the contents of her backpack. "You need a moment to check everything before we head out?" She asks, looking away but keeping Benji in her peripheral vision, curious how he'll react.

"Well, I've checked already, so I'm good," he says, patting his bag and turning towards the path ahead. "And who knows? Maybe we won't have to skip breakfast completely. We might find something on the way we can snack. right? Yash and I did it all the time," he says with a smile.
He waits (impatiently) for the others to finish packing if necessary, but as soon as they are done he starts walking towards their destination, Maha and Yash walking along on both sides.

The three of you break up your camp and head off on the road, spending the first hour moving slower as you do some on the road training. The weather for the rest of the morning and early afternoon is pleasant, the storm of a few days ago well and truly gone as the sun beams down from a clear blue sky, warming the air to a perfect degree.
Not much happens as you walk, no road obstructions, no clashing behemoths, no Geodudes. The road, initially rocky mountain paths past high cliffs and plateaus, now leads through a meadow, rolling hills covered with grass and mountain flowers, with the occasional rock formation jutting out of the scenery. The only Pokémon you see are some Pidgeys and Spearow fluttering about, and at one point, a small herd of Mountain Skiddo, grazing a little ways off the path. All is peaceful and quiet, leaving you with plenty of time to chat, enjoy the scenery, and think.
