Ori wasn't too surprised or disappointed in the lack of eye-catching fashion. When a place is struggling to survive, the novelties of such things are the first to be sacrificed.
In the crafting store, she picks through the interesting bits with care. Her focus is more on the metals and stones. "Shells really aren't my thing... but some of this... this is nice. The cool tones of the metal with the bright shine of the polished stone. Definitely something usable here."
She picked through the stones, looking particularly for any sort of blue or white. For metal, something dull like a pewter color would work nicely to form a setting for the stone. It would give an dark edge to the ornate focal point. If she found everything she was looking for, Ori would go back to one of the clothing stores for a leather belt that had a clasp that matched the metal she'd picked out. It'd be easy to alter the length to make a collar for her feline partner.

Benji gives Orianne the things he has in his bag, asking her to sell what she can since he doesn't really understand much about it. He holds onto the yellow crystal he found at the end of the cave, though, as it reminds him of... something. He then moves into the cafeteria with the other girls, smiling and waving to the duo playing cards in the corner although they don't react as enthusiastically. He sits on a couch, taking his crafting kit from his bag and carefully placing the clay and chisels on the table next to him. "Uuh, I kinda need to do this now before we move on," he tells Vess and Jean-Marie as they sit, "but we can talk if you want. It doesn't really take a lot of concentration."He then starts carefully molding the clay in small spheres before dyeing them in soft colors, separating them into groups. He takes the first one, a light orange orb, and starts shaping it into a stylized machop. "So, how did you find our first venture? Was it exciting for you, guys, as well?" he starts chatting with the girls, apparently forgetting he had first offered to see if they were interested. MechanicsBenji will use the extended action to put all the records he has in his archives. This means all his allied trainers and their pokémon in the form of beads for his hair, as well as adding the mines to his Pyrite bracelet. Profile Archive inclusions:- Maha, the machop

Robin chuckles as he looks through the money the two got selling their loot. There is a slight urge to see if he can skim a little extra off the top, but he's quick to dismiss it - this isn't a short game and that kind of thinking would just screw up his long-term goals. He needs this group to keep close, so rocking the boat with them would just be asking for trouble. Still, the money was right there. It would be so easy to...
Shaking the thought off, he stuffs the money into his bag and wanders over to Orianne, hearing her give her thoughts about what she was seeing. "Hell of an eye you got there, Ori. Gotta be honest, my knowledge of fashion stops at knowing that shoving two colours together sometimes works." He gives a mock-modeling pose for a split second, drawing attention to his outfit. "Betcha couldn't tell from looking at me, huh? Still, good to have someone with a bit of experience around, right?"

After being patched up herself, Jean-Marie glances over at the game being played, observing from a distance.
"I enjoyed it! It was a good chance to stretch my fighting muscles for the first time in a while. How did you enjoy it?"

There was a moment where it appeared that Ori might be ignoring Robin, but it became obvious she was just wrapped up in the work. Once she had assembled the collar to her liking, she turned to him.
"Hmm? Oh yes. Colors play a big role in the mood a piece sets. If you ever want any help picking out something for you or your partners, let me know!"

Robin nodded, smiling a little more genuinely. "Thanks, I'll keep it in mind." While she didn't consider herself a Zoroark-level master of disguise, she knew her way around such matters fairly well, and having someone around with such a keen eye for fashion and aesthetics could be very helpful for that.
Still, she put the thought aside, looking around. "Anywhoo, anywhere else you think we should stop by before we head back?"

Benji apparently has enough practice with the clay, as his hands move with confidence and speed as he answers Jean-Marie, the small shapes quickly taking form. "Fighting muscles, you say?" he says, smiling widely. "Yeah, I noticed some of you, girls, are not afraid to be on the frontlines. I'm afraid I'm not cut out for that..." he finishes before laughing heartily, placing another readied clay bead by his side. "I liked it as well, although Yash did most of the fighting on my side," he says petting the yungoos before grabbing another sphere. "I had never been in a cave before, so it was a little claustrophobic at first, but hey! I now have a new pokémon, so it all worked out."The clay beads If you're interested, Benji has picked a bead color to represent each of his friends before he ties them in his dreadlocks.
His own pokémon are light orange, Robin and their pokémon are green, Orianne and her meowth are cyan, Jasmine and her team are deep black, and Vess' are light gray.
He also has other colored beads on his hairs already (light yellow, dark blue, pink and light red) but you can only barely recognize the red ones as Jasmine and Professor Elder. |

The two of you eventually make your way back to the Pokécenter, idly talking fashion as walk, arriving back about two hours after you had left.
Jean-Marie & Benji
Not much of interest happens as you wait for your Pokémon to be healed, apart from the occasional groan or exclamation from the older couple. Vess is mostly ignoring you guys, brooding. After about an hour, Jean-Marie's Pokémon are healed, and she goes to the small battle arena to train with them, Benji following after to look and learn.
Half an hour after Benji's Pokémon have been healed fully, Robin and Ori return, joining Jean-Marie and Benji in the cafeteria, splitting up the cash Robin had obtained.
It takes about fifteen minutes before Benji and Jean-Marie realise that they hadn't seen Vess in a while...

Receiving her single pokeball back from the nurse, Orianne immediately released Sapphire. The cat stretched and yawned while the girl pulled the collar from her pack and presented it for inspection to the feline.
"Not only will it set a strong first impression for those you'll be battling, it'll give you the tenacity to shrug off the moves that would cramp your style." She clasped the collar around the cat's neck as she spoke.
Once Sapphire had her new accessory, Orianne spoke to the other trainers. "Did Vess go somewhere after we left for the stores?"

Robin raises an eyebrow as she notices what Ori said. "Hmm... she didn't say anything, did she?" She thinks for a moment before sighing and continuing. "When'd you last see her here?"

Benji smiles widely as the girls return, quickly putting the last beads on his hair as he joins them to take his healed pokémon. He releases Yash and Maha, checking quickly their condition before returning both to their pokéballs. He finally notices the girls' discussion about their companion.
"I... I didn't see her leaving, no." he answers, looking around to make sure Vess isn't anywhere. "She was kinda... distant? Jean-Marie and I went for practice and she stayed here. She wouldn't leave without saying anything, right?" he asks no one in particular but looking at all three girls.

Robin thinks back over everything that had happened and everything he's seen, and indeed felt, from Vess. While no mind reader, he has a good sense of how people work and he recognized in Vess the signs of someone uncomfortable working with and relying on others. If nothing else, he recognized them from his own thoughts.
He shakes his head and sighs. "Hate to say it, but... yeah, I'd say she probably would."
His hand twitches at his side. One of the first things you learned in the con game was that it's a hit-and-run business. The less time for the mark to think, the better, and the moment things started failing, you got out of there. This first sign of failure sets off alarm bells in Robin's head that tell him to leave at the next opportunity. It'd be fine, just leave them to their...
He closes his eyes tight for a moment, reminding himself of how much work he's poured into this plan, how much he'd been relying on it for his future and how much he stood to gain from it. This loss is... concerning, but he resolves to stand firm for the moment.
As such, he gives the others a smile. "Well, then, I guess we've got no choice. We're just gonna have to make enough of a name for ourselves that she'll feel confident in coming back. You think we're up for it?" She flashes her eyebrows to make clear how confident she wanted them to think her.

"That's really unfortunate, but there's not much we can do if she has decided this isn't for her..." Ori moved toward the kitchen to get Sapphire her evening meal. Once done, she returned to the group and looked at the clock on the 'dex.
"It's probably not worth breaking from the town today. I don't think there'll be much light left to get very far. Better to strike out fresh tomorrow?"

Planning your next course of action, the four of you eventually come to an agreement. Orianne and Benji head out to the front desk, to as the on duty nurse if they'd seen Vess; while Jean-Marie and Robin go check the dorms to see if Vess had left any signs or notes.
Orianne and Benji learn that Vess had gotten her Pokémon shortly after they'd been healed, well over forty-five minutes ago, and had left the building, carrying her bag.
Jean-Marie and Robin find the bed Vess had slept in empty, her bag gone, and a small note laying on the pillow. "Gone to find someone. Don't try to follow me. - Vess"
The four of you convene, discussing shortly who Vess might be going after or how her travels might go, before the conversation naturally meanders into different topics. Eventually, after a hearty meal provided by Robin and the Center's supplies, the four of you head to bed.
The next morning, the four of you convene once again in the cafeteria over breakfast, planning the day ahead. Halfway through the meal, Orianne gets a message, and her eyes widen. "I hate to do this, especially now, but... my father has fallen ill... I ... I think I have to go back and see him. I'm... really sorry. You all should go on without me, no sense putting this off because of me."
With that, and some final farewells, she takes her belongings and leaves the building, heading toward the docks. It would seems there's just the three of you left...

Benji's sleep that night isn't good. He sent a message to Vess, but no immediate reply comes and he can't avoid wondering what exactly made the girl leave the group without evens saying good-bye. Still, there's nothing more they can do about it, as Robin points out, so he tries to rest a bit before the next day comes. And of course, that day starts with more bad news.
"I'm... I'm really sorry to hear that, Orianne," he says honestly, hugging the girl a little awkwardly. "If there's anything we could do, we are all ears. Remember you have our numbers there, so when things get better - and they will - call us and we can meet again, ok?"
After the farewells, Benji turns to the remaining members of the group. "Soo... We're still traveling together, right? We haven't even left town, so don't you dare go anywhere for now!" he says half-jokingly. "I'm still not good at this whole training thing, and you said you'd help me, Robin."

"To Aconite Town, of course," Benji answers matter-of-factly. "Isn't that where the professor asked us to find his friend?" he says as he moves outside towards the training area. "We all got new pokémon, right? So there's not much for us to do here and we really should do what the professor asked soon..."
He quickly grabs his pokédex and deftly navigates its menus, popping the map up. "So, the professor said we should go to Seraphinite, and that it would take two days, and then a week more to Aconite," he says, showing the map to the others. "So we really have a long way ahead, no reason to wait here. Oooh, and we get to go through the mountain! That sounds fun."
