"I'd assume it'd just be, well, being in such a corrupted world. I know I feel sickly around Dark Aetherstone," Rainbow says, "so I can't imagine how it'd be for a Pokémon. But... I suppose you might be right. I guess we just need to see what the future holds for us."
It seems like a good thing that the pair built their little bunker of wreckage, because before too long a small pack of Rattata looks to be searching about the area, sniffing the air. Slowly, the three or four rats (it's hard to be sure from a distance, and with the light starting to fade) seem to be moving in the direction of the pair.

"You'll know when the time is right." Bee encouraged Rainbow playfully.
When the rodents come, the medicine has largely done its work on her injury. Hunkering into their embankment, she released Crassi, patched up from their earlier battle, and Bylii who was still fresh, having not been used yet in their venture. "Seems I get to learn about feral Pokemon today..." She sighed softly. "I'm going to catch one, so we can see if there's any recovering from this exposure if they are removed from it. Bylii Silver Wind, Crassi Pin Missile."
A glittery powder carried by a gust of wind, and small volley of spiked needles crashed into the first wave of rodents (Beatrice binds Iterative Evolution. 32 Bug Special and 23 Bug Physical, to R1 and R2 respectively. Crassi and Bylii gain 5 DR each.)

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Rainbow asks, nervously, as the rats approach, gnashing their teeth. "What if it doesn't work?"Bea's bugs seem to do good work, with the forerunner severely wounded, and the next one hurt as well. It seems enough to stop them from making contact with their own frenzied attacks, at least temporarily. But they're not stopping. And, from the look in their eyes, it doesn't look like they will until they're made to. R1 takes 2 injuries from Silver Wind. It's super effective! R1 Misses with Bite. R2 misses with Bite. R3 and R4 use Focus Energy. R2 is hit with Pin Missile. It's super effective!
Make a Perception check.

"Success or fail, we learn something. I will explain when we aren't in danger. Bylii, Disengage and use Struggle Bug.". Though the fairy complied, the rodents wers surprisingly nimble. "Crassi hold till my mark, then use Poison Tail on my target."
Bee loosed an empty ball at the Rattata, clocking it soundly before giving Crassi the order to attack.
With a chitter, the ogre scorpion lunged at the wounded rat with proud intent, tail thudding home in one of the rodent's vital spots. (47 Poison Physical to R1)

The first rat falls and gets sucked into a ball, but that still leaves enough to cause trouble. One batters Bylli around, while the others gnaw on Crassi, sharp fangs piercing her carapace some. Though Bea can't seem to see anything concrete, she gets the feeling that there's more than the rats around. Just based on things maybe seen out of the corner of her eyes. R1 Faints from Poison Tail. Bylli takes 21 damage from Tackle. Crassi takes 15 damage from Bite. Crassi takes 20 damage and an injury from Bite.

"Bylii you're going to have to sustain yourself this time I think... target the injured one with Fairy Kiss." Fluttering forward, the insect alighted on one of the rodents and made a soft, sweet sound, but the end result was likely quite horrifying and painful.
(R2 takes 33 Fairy Special, Bylii heals for half. At 5, Beatrice switches Crassi for Tempu, who uses Mach Punch on R3 for 29 Fighting Physical)
With the abuse Crassi is taking, Bee rotates her out, cringing at all the bite wounds, and hoping that the contaminant doesn't spread with contact. Tempu comes out swinging.

Bylli drains enough energy from the one rat to cause it to fall, while Tempu's punch severely injures another. And while the rats continue to assault the position, Bylli is still fresh enough from the last rat to withstand the blow without too much trouble, and Tempu grits its nonexistent teeth in the face of the rat's very existent teeth to stay strong. The shape that Bea thinks she may have seen before out of the corner of her eye before suddenly resolves itself, a shimmer in the evening air replaced with a dark grinning gremlin with sharp teeth and gemstones for eyes. It seems to momentarily make a move for the humans atop their barricade of junk, but instead looks towards Bylli and raises a hand, moisture collecting from the wet ocean air before firing itself at the Cutiefly. R2 Faints from Draining Kiss. It's super effective! Bylli heals 21 damage. R3 takes 2 injuries from Mach Punch. Bylli takes 19 damage from Tackle. Tempu takes 24 damage from Bite. Bylli takes 24 damage from Water Pulse.

"Battling is actually really stressful when it isn't for fun." Beatrice observed with a frown, considering the condition of her Pokemon, their opponents, and the new terrifying rival with gems for eyes and gnashing sharp teeth. One thing at a time.
"Bylii reposition and Struggle Bug, Tempu, Mach Punch." Bee had her last curative at the ready, they really couldn't afford any more injuries at this point.
Moving in behind her Cutiefly, the trainer used the last bottle of her sprays, (healing Bylii for 20 Hp.)
(R3 and 4 take 31 Bug Special Each. Bylii gains 5 DR. R4 takes 30 Fighting Physical)

"See?" Rainbow says, nervously, "that's what I've had to live with my whole life..."Both the rats go down in quick succession from the attacks of the bugs, leaving only the gremlin left. It seems to have a vehement expression whenever it glances towards the humans, but Bylli's presence appears to make it a little wary to get any closer. Even if she's not directly in the way, she seems to unnerve the thing enough for it to focus on her instead of the humans. And focus it does, as it leaps at the bee fly, tearing into her with viciously sharp claws, only the swarming of the remaining energy protecting her. But, it's not enough, as the creature's shadow moves around to behind her, clawing her until she falls. With a malicious grin, the Pokémon turns towards Bea and Rainbow, eyes glistening darkly. R3 Faints from Struggle Bug, and R4 is hit. It's super effective! R4 Faints from Mach Punch. It's super effective! Bylli takes 34 damage and an injury from Fury Swipes. Bylli takes 21 damage, an injury, and Faints from Shadow Sneak.

"Perhaps a wider range of specimens to determine a control, or range of recovery. Rodents are often used because of their similarity to humans, but this Pokemon is humanshape but otherwise seems to be something else entirely... Bylii return, Limul you're up!" Releasing the Anorith, she considered her options for a moment, before throwing a ball at the gem-eyed gremlin. "Fury Cutter, Bug Bite, Go!" Her two insects set upon the lone ghost together, an empty Pokeball flying into the mix.
(31 Bug Physical from Fury Cutter, 41 Bug Physical from Bug Bite, Bea switches a fainted as a shift, and attempts to ball tag the Sableye as a standard, 11 on an AC 6)

The cretin snarls and hisses as the bugs swarm over it, tearing at its body, and it turns from Bea, unleashing another bolt of water, this time at Limul. The bug very much does not like this water, and barely manages to hold on. But... hold on it does, valiantly. Sableye takes damage from Fury cutter and Bug Bite. Sableye is hit by the Pokéball. Limul takes 31 damage and an injury from Water Pulse (including DR).

"Keep on him you guys..." Limul tosses his head angrily at the blast of water, his next swing going wide, eyes blinking furiously, but Tempu seems to have a proper rhythm of things and chomps down once more, while Bee directs both after the creature's weakpoints.
(Iterative Evolution issued, Bug Bite hits, Fury Cutter Misses, 42 Bug Physical)

The Sableye recoils at the ferocious attack, before quickly striking back at the Anorith… who manages to hang on, just barely. The claws of the ghost snap out before it slashes at Tempu, who's beginning to get battered and bruised but is still ever-defiant. Limul's finally taken out, though, as the Sableye's shadow creeps up behind him once more and is able to tear a gash in his shell before he can make a move. Sableye is Staggered and gains an injury from Bug Bite. Limul takes... 3 damage from Astonish. Tempu takes 23 damage and an injury from Feint Attack. Limul takes 9 damage, an injury, and Faints from Shadow Sneak.

Bee tries to keep it out of her voice when issuing commands, but it is clear that stress is building there. Outside of gym battles, she has never dealt with an encounter so intense before. With Crassi already wounded, Silica down, and Solenoid badly injured, things were not looking good.
Rotating Limul for Crassi, she again instructed her insects on ways they could improve. Tempu begins to falter from his injuries, but Crassi unloads a volley of.sharp needles into the gremlin.
(Iterative Evolution on the new Mon. Crassi hits with Pin Missile for 45 Bug Physical and gains 5 DR, Limul misses and gains 10 DR)

The ghost staggers under the barrage of missiles, but isn't prepared to give up yet. While its shadow is still recovering, tatters on the ground wreathing back together, it lashes out at Tempu, trying to put the bug down for good. It seems like the Ledian is able to withstand the swipes momentarily... but in the end, he, too falters. The gremlin isn't looking so good on its end, either, visibly shaking. "Do... do you think you can stop it?" Rainbow asks, with trepidation. "What do we do if you can't?"
Crassi hits with Pin Missile. Tempu takes 19 damage, an injury, and Faints from Feint Attack.

"I don't know. That wasn't an eventuality I prepared for." Bee replies in a tight tone. "Ironic, a lesson learned too late though it was understood in practice." Blowing a wisp of hair out of her eyes, she releases Solenoid. "I don't have any choice anymore. I'm sorry friend. Both of you, this must be done now... please, defeat it."
(Focused Orders as a Standard, Switch a fainted as a Shift)
"Crassi, Bite. Solenoid, Thunder Shock."
The scorpion and the magnetic ball Pokemon release their attacks in tandem at the monster of a creature that had laid their fellows low (Initiative 9). Crassi's bite seems to leave a lasting impression, flinching the creature, and allowing for Solenoid's followup to strike home. (23 Dark Physical and Flinch, 28 Electric Special)

The gremlin stays standing after the bite, and turns hungrily upon the bug... until Solenoid's electricity goes wracking through its body multiple times. It keeps clawing forwards, until eventually, finally, it falls down, twitching, before it gets absorbed into Bea's ball from what seems like an eternity ago. And all is quiet. Crassi hits with Bite. Sableye faints from Thunder Shock.
You gain a Milestone for surviving Dewford, and 150 EXP for that encounter. You caught an Alolan Rattata! Level: 15 Gender: Male Nature: Proud Moves: Pursuit, Bite, Focus Energy, Quick Attack, Tail Whip, Tackle Abilities: Thick Fat
You caught a Sableye! Level: 20 Gender: Female Nature: Bashful Moves: Feint Attack, Shadow Sneak, Detect, Fury Swipes, Astonish, Water Pulse Abilities: Keen Eye, Frisk
You probably don't want to use either yet, though.
After a tense several moments, Rainbow finally speaks. "Is it... is it over?" She looks at Bea. "That was so brave, Bee. Especially this close to the meteor..."

"I didn't know what we were getting into, and now that I do, committing to the next venture will be that much harder. I don't have the supplies on me for more recovery items, and my Pokemon have already been pushed to their absolute limit. I hope Alissa gets back soon, cause we don't have many options left." Bee dabbed sweat from her brow with the hem of her coat.
"As I would have explained earlier, if we can prove that their manic state can be cured, then purifying your time is all well and fine. They can be treated, and nature will recover. If they won't, or can't recover, then preventing that degradation is paramount instead. You will be doing few and no favors, unless newborn Pokemon are free of that corruption. That is the only plausible way I could see the world recovering."

"Eggs do indeed seem to be protected," Rainbow says, nodding. "When they hatch, they're comparatively docile for a time, at least until the corruption spreads to them. It's during that time that they're safe to Bond with."
"I don't want to think about what would happen if all this is for naught..." she says, quietly. "I do want to thank you, for all your strength. For your willingness to put it all on the line."
The night begins to fall in earnest, but it seems that nothing more comes to assail their position. It's fairly dark when Alissa floats along, gently alighting their pile of barricades with the metal case. "Well, you didn't die. That's good. Ran into some Aron on the way, gave me a nasty walloping. Guess they're not super happy that my home fell into theirs." She gives the slightest of smiles, before it fades again. "But, I'm here now. Got the rock. So... I guess now that you have this, you should probably leave. Not safe for anyone else to be around here. I'll admit, forgot what it was like to actually have people around..."

"Well, that's good at least. Y-you don't have to say it like that, it makes it seem like more than it was, but I appreciate it I guess." Pink in the face, she breaks eye contact and doesn't make it again for several long moments. When Alissa arrives, the girl visibly sags and starts to relax.
"It'll be two days before my friends are in any shape for anything else, but it was worth the struggle. Going to be a long ride home, hopefully Lapras is alright still." She exhaled, and offered Alissa a hand to shake. "Thank you, for reaching an understanding with us, and for all your help. I'll talk to the gym leader we spoke of when the time comes." She finally shares a look with Rainbow. "Is there anything you'd want to tell her, for later?"
