And then Lind is down, and then she's out. Not only did she not get very far in the trainers, she could even get past pokemon five. This just sucks.

May (and Whitney) try to comfort/cheer up Victoria. Honestly, considering the stakes in this fight, they both thought Victoria did really well! Neither says it, but both (separately) wouldn't be terribly opposed to Victoria taking a nice, long break. The conference is still a couple months out, so there's time yet.

Victoria is silent the way back and pratically throws her stuff aside and plops on the couch with a sigh. She knows the two are thinking things but doesn't want to engage in those thoughts right now.

Well, clearly this calls for...cuddles! May and Whitney plop down beside Victoria and just snuggle close. No words are spoken, just them making their support/presence known.

She sighs as the two hug her, she just wanted to pout on her own but clearly she's not getting that. She looks over to both of them.
"Ok get it out, say what's on your minds. I was trying to just pout on my own but you two just want to put me in a cutie sandwich."

Whitney grins. "I'm of a similar mind, minus the 'personal cheerleader' part. Though if it'd help you feel better, I'd go dig up a cheerleading uniform and prance around for ya." She winks.

She's silent for a long while.
"I know you're the personal cheerleader. I still appreciate it but I just feel like I suck today. Just hard to just 'be' better when I've been in this position so many times."
She gets up and chuckles a bit when Whitney suggests finding an outfit.
"What, you gonna find one for my lead cheerleader too? I'm going to go distract myself and make dinner."
She starts to head over to the kitchen to do just that.

The next day, Victoria is sat thinking for a while, and she wonders if she's spread herself too much on other pokemon types. She loves them all and even if May made a good point about Leibling not being used again but then she used ANOTHER bug to help win that battle. She had studied the bug type in her years past taking care of Leibling and then training her. Maybe she should just stick to that? She would need some off-types though. She's really only got Bug subtypes in steel, water, poison, and flying. Not a huge range of options.
She starts gathering her gear up.
"Hey guys, I'm going bug hunting in Ilex."

May sits up suddenly at Victoria's announcement, randomly shouting "Pancakes!". Whitney, who had just looked up to address Victoria glances over at May with a soft snort.
"The heck was that, girl?" She teases May.
May blushes. "N-Nothing! We're going to Ilex, right? Let's goooo!" She exclaims, quickly dashing out the door to avoid further embarrassing herself.

She wasn't sure if she should have just gone by herself considering how she's been feeling but guess she can't tell them no now. Guess we are all going to Ilex.

No sooner has Victoria begun her search for new Bug-Type friends then she spies a tiny flash of yellow out of the corner of her eye. Carefully pursuing it, she eventually comes upon a small group of Joltik hiding in the trees.

She gets up close to the tree.
"Hello up there cuties!"

As Victoria gets closer to the tree, she notices that there are a lot more Joltik than just a "small group". The nearby trees are practically crawling with 'em! There is the faint hum of electricity in the air, but they don't seem hostile. A few of the more skittish ones vanished into the foliage when Victoria approached, but there's still plenty around. With this many of one kind of Pokemon all in one place, one has to wonder... thump! Oh. There it is. Victoria turns towards the thump behind her and sees a massive Galvantula has arrived on the scene. It eyes her warily, but like the others, doesn't seem too concerned about her and her posse's presence.

Seeing as Victoria is not making any hostile movements, Galvantula allows her to remain. It waves one leg at her in mimicry, then scuttles off again. Guess she made a good impression.

At first, they shy away from reaching hands, but then some particularly bold/curious Joltik cautiously approach and eventually climb onto Victoria to eat the static off of her. When the others see that the first group is "eating", they suddenly swarm over poor Victoria to get a taste of that sweet, sweet static electricity themselves!
