The year is 528 of the Age of Arceus. Twenty years have passed since D'Mara Dracor murdered the Aspect of Death, Yveltal, and stole its power in a bid to take control of the Kanto region. A ragtag group of young heroes, aided in part by Xerneas, Aspect of Life, managed to hold her off long enough to draw the attention of Arceus the Overgod itself. Arceus was quite displeased with this turn of events. It quickly ripped the soul of Yveltal from D'Mara's body, stripping her of a majority of her power in the process. Yveltal was resurrected, and all those who perished at the hands of D'Mara's undead minions were given life anew. Queen Amelia, having been slain by D'Mara herself, was not brought back. Likely as some form of mild punishment for the idiotic humans who allowed things to progress to this point. Not that humanity can really be blamed when it ought to have been the other 'gods' who prevented D'Mara from ascending in the first place. In any case, the battle was over and nearly all the damage (in lives) had been undone. The names of these heroes have been immortalized by the new Queen, Sorra Shields. Due to a lack of heirs of the late Queen Amelia, Knight Commander Sorra took it upon herself to provide some semblance of order until such time as the ruling council could decide upon a new monarch. It took nearly two years to fully repair the damage done to Celadon Castle Town, during which Interim Queen Sorra ruled fairly while still attempting to juggle her new duties as steward to the throne as well as maintain a connection with the people of Kanto (or at least those in Celadon). At the end of this time period, the council was finally able to convene to discuss the matter of a new ruler. In a surprising (or not so surprising) twist, they unanimously voted to name Sorra Shields as the new, official, Queen of Kanto. Naturally, this comes with the understanding that one ought to strongly consider producing heirs at some point, but that's really not the concern of the general populace.
During this period of rebuilding and the early stages of the reign of Queen Sorra, many things began to change. First was the obvious disbanding of the Dark Branch of the Adventurer's Guild, previously run by D'Mara. As D'Mara was under house arrest and still recovering from the removal of Yveltal from her soul, and the majority of the rest of the branch were her accomplices (despite many having been brainwashed into following), there was literally nobody left as a member of Dark Branch. Zoey, D'Mara's daughter, left the Guild to follow her new wife, Tiki, on her region-wide performance tour (whenever she isn't at home helping her mother recover). Laurel Regal, the only Dark Branch member to not be arrested after the invasion, was left to wander on her own after her colleagues' arrest. Second, the settlement/village known as Pewter was established on the western side of Mt. Moon, just north of the Viridian Forest. This place was founded by none other than Hero Clay, who has since settled down and begun a family with Mayor Kalani of Cerulean. Despite his numerous duties as both father and husband, the self-proclaimed 'monkey-boy' still does his best to make an appearance around the Adventurer's Guild to meet up with old friends and colleagues. The third impactful event of the first decade of Queen Sorra's rule was the retirement of the majority of the Branch Heads from the aforementioned Adventurer's Guild. Ashandra, Naida, Genevieve, all chose to retire roughly 7-10 years after The Invasion. In their place, they named their children (if any) as the new Branch Heads. In the case of the Fire and Water Branches, Naida's daughter Callidora and Ashandra's daughter Ashley took over for them. For Normal Branch, a young man named Jax and his Aipom partner Ace were named the new Branch Head. Nobody really pays attention to the Rock or Ground Branches, so when the two eldest Branch Heads slipped quietly into retirement, nobody noticed any difference. Fighting Branch's Head, Ming-Na, as well as Sage of Grass and Nalkeya of Poison retain their positions (though both Ming-Na and Sage eerily appear almost identical to the way they did twenty years ago). Naturally, Steel Branch also effectively disbanded, as its primary purpose was served (even if they didn't end up doing a great job of it, given their task was to watch D'Mara).
Due to dwindling resources, the Adventurer's Guild has elected to only hold Anniversary Events every 5 years instead of every year. This year just so happens to be a very special one. The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Adventurer's Guild. As always, anyone and everyone is welcome to attend the event, especially those who may wish to join the Guild. Alas, due to the aforementioned monetary problems, the Guild has been forced to start charging a Membership Fee. At least, under normal circumstances. Given this is the 100th anniversary, the Joining Fee is waived. In keeping with the tradition, a single Grass, Fire, or Water Pokemon is provided free of charge for any attendee who wishes to raise one.

Ruby smiles as she walks into the Adventure's Guild for the first time. "So this is where Mother and Father first met, is it? I wonder what the Fighting Branch is like?" Ruby certainly stuck out like a sore thumb in the crowd. From her practically glowing white dress uniform, to her rich red hair that matched the color of the large ruby set into the top of her cane, to her obvious...assets, Ruby cut an impressive figure to be sure. One that could easily serve as a point of interest to any would-be party members.

"-...And it is on this GLORIOUS DAY, that we give thanks, we give praise, and bask in the warm, bright sun! We bathe in the brilliant pink light! We must pray to Xerneas, for he is why the sun shines above our heads! Come, and join me in prayer!" The beautiful, pink haired woman in the black clothes, bowed her head. It didn't matter if people payed attention or not around her, but she spread the word! She lifted her head after a silent prayer, held her hands out, and a tiny yellow bug pokemon floated to sprinkle pink dust into her hands. The girl tosses out the dust to the people. "Praise be to Xerneas!" She steps off of the wooden crates she stood on, and happily walked towards the guild. "If anybody would like to hear more sermons, seek out Sister Freya at the guild!"

A blue-haired woman in a chef's outfit walks with purpose toward the guild. She's idly talking to a Munna floating by her side, who doesn't really seem to be paying attention.
"...and then we have to find the most intellectual branch there, and join that one! Surely they'll be able to help me, right? Right. Your always good to talk to, Destiny. The Guild should have the knowledge I want, the supplies I'll need, access to the pokemon I want... and subjects the world over!"
She gives a shit-eating grin while rapping her fingers together. Nobody here knows her, so nobody will suspect she'll be inserting dream smoke into her delicious food!
Her thought process is interrupted by someone shouting into the crowd. She looks over and sees the pink-haired lady spouting religious nonsense. Anything about the incident twenty years ago really doesn't interest her besides the rumors that the heroes had dealings with Darkrai and Cresslia. In her own searches, they've seemed to have gone quiet since the incident. Shame, too, because they for sure would be able to grant her the ability to eat some dreams.
She decides to try getting past the woman only to get blasted with that dust in her hair. She coughs and wipes it out of her hair.
"...At least if I dream mist someone they fall asleep."
She looks to the woman.
"Excuse me, just 'what' was assaulting me with pixie dust supposed to do? I'm all for experimentation, but unless this dust is mind-altering, then what am I supposed to believe?"

Freya turns to the girl, and smiles. "Oh! This wonderful dust is used to bless those with the loving touch of the fairies! Other...'practices' use holy water, or incense. But, I use this dust! I'm always glad to answer curious lambs who wish to know about Xerneas's grace." She holds the girl's hands in her soft, gloved hands. More of the dust sticks to the girls hands. She'll find out soon that it does not come off easily. "I am Sister Freya, and I spread the good word of our savior Xerneas. Please tell me your name."

Hmmm, she's very trusting with the sudden contact. As well as with any heavily religious person, can be misled easily given the right motivation. One to keep an eye on.
She tries to ignore the annoying dust and smile to the woman.
"Stephanie. Stephanie Myler."

Freya grins widely, and shakes her hands. "Ooohh Ms. Myler. You are very lucky to have met me. If you are here to join the Adventurer's Guild, then please do seek me out often. Every few days I deliver sermons. I speak the truth of our lord and savior, Xerneas. It is because of he that our mornings are greeted by the sun. Hehe. Please. Please do attend as you will surely be further enlightened, and you will surely be blessed as am I." She does a small twirl, and smiles brightly as she basks in the non existent pink light. "May Xerneas's light brighten your path." She bows lightly, and continues on her way. The small bug flies infront of Stephanie's face. It is quite a cutie. It wiggles about dropping dust onto her nose, and then zips off after Freya.

Ruby had heard something of a ruckus and was heading towards it, but as she rounds the corner, another girl rounds it from the other side at the exact same time. Ruby thankfully manages to retain her balance despite the resulting collision, but the pink haired girl isn't so lucky. Ruby lunges to catch her before she falls to the ground, managing to get her hand behind the girl's head, resulting in the two's faces being quite close indeed. "Are you unharmed, fair maiden?" she asks, as her pink eyes stare into the pink hair girl's.

Stephanie tries her best to suppress the urge to sneeze from the final blast. After Freya is out of earshot...
"Lucky indeed..."
Her Munna was also blasted with some splash damage glitter, and is now in 'mental destruction' mode, slowly floating after the bug. Stephanie stops her in her invisible tracks.
"Hey now, if you go kill the bug now, you can't eat their dreams in the future. Play the long game, Destiny."
Stephanie makes a big distracting display of trying to get all of the dust off.

"What's this about killin' bugs?" drawls another voice. The source is a tall boy with a shock of bright orange hair and a long coat. Despite his calm tone he looks a little harried - Emil isn't used to such big crowds, and has been hanging around the edges for some time, slowly making his way toward the Guild.
But, well... Hero Clay found his place at the Guild, and his mother used to be a member before she moved out to Pewter Village. It seems like a good place to get to grips with the world outside of the village and the immediate area around it - somewhere he can test and hone his skills in more and different ways than just by living out in the wilds. So he can brave the crowds and see whether the Guild is for him.
A Dwebble scuttles out from where she was hiding in the fringes of Emil's coat, peering up at the Munna as it shakes the dust off. Emil gives Stephanie a slightly-nervous smile. "Name's Emil. You headed for the Guild, too?"

Stephanie looks over at the boy approaching and overhearing.
"It's nothing to worry about, just a un-wanted shower of glitter by a little fairy bug... that doesn't seem to be getting out easy..."
She keeps wiping, but answers his other question.
"Stephanie. And yes I am headed to the guild."
Stephanie stops and looks up, and she can note his hesitation and nervousness.
"Is something the matter, Emil?"

Emil sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "It's nothin'. Just not used to seein' this many people in one place. I'm... not great with crowds," he admits quietly.
He leans down and picks up Tulip, cradling her in his arms. A hermit crab with a rocky shell isn't the cuddliest Pokémon ever, but she settles right into Emil's arms, still goggling warily at the Munna.

Upon hearing that, Stephanie blankly takes out a notepad, writes Emil’s name at the top, and begins taking notes with the pencil hidden neatly behind her ear.
”A fear of congregated humans isn’t that rare. Usually for those who are dangerously anti-social. Now, you tell me, that’s not you is it?”

"I wouldn't say I'm dangerous." Emil frowns at the note pad, tempted to try and see what she's writing down. "Sorry, uh... Pewter's not near as crowded as the big city. And I spend a lotta time out in the woods. Nobody much out there to talk to but Pokémon and I'm better with them. 'Specially bugs. Prob'ly I'm just not used to it."

"Oof!" Freya almost goes tumbling, but opens her eyes as she seems to be floating. She locks eyes with the most gorgeous set of...PINK EYES!? "O-Oh my goodness!" She then realizes how close she is to this other person. "Kyaaa!" A quick slap causes her to finally hit the ground, but she quickly recovers. "O-Oh my...My apologies!" She gets up to dust herself off from the dirt, and looks to this new person. "My apologies once again. I should've paid attention to where I was going." She then takes a moment to observe this girl's eyes. "Oh what brilliant eye color you have! A shimmering shade of pink!" She takes her hands, and holds them gently. "May I please know your name, madame?"

"Ahahaha! It's quite alright! I always enjoy meeting someone with some fire in them!" Ruby says with a laugh. "The name's Ruby. Ruby Edelsten. May I know your name as well?"
On the inside, Ruby's inner self was having a party. She's so friggin' adorable! I just wanna hug her!

Freya's eyes shine brightly. "Ahhh. Ms. Edelsten, you are very lucky to have met me. If you are here to join the Adventurer's Guild, then please do seek me out often. Every few days I deliver sermons. I speak the truth of our lord and savior, Xerneas. It is because of he that our mornings are greeted by the sun. Hehe. Please. Please do attend as you will surely be further enlightened, and you will surely be blessed as am I." She does a small twirl with her luscious, pink hair swirling about. It's almost as if her words, and mannerisms were rehearsed/performed hundreds of times...Her little bug also drops some dust onto Ruby's head. "May Xerneas's light brighten your path. Oh! I was just heading inside, and would you join me? I assume you will be registering for the Adventurer's Guild as well?" She tilts her head, and smiles sweetly.

"My apologies, Lady Freya, but I may not come to your sermons often. For while the Aspect of Life is indeed one worth worshiping, I myself believe that actions speak louder then words!" Ruby says passionately, clenching her fist. "Therefore! I shall be spending my days protecting innocent lives from those who would do them harm! For I am a Hero of Justice who strives to purge evil from the land wherever it may take root!" She says, putting one foot up on a mysteriously placed box and pointing to the heavens.
"But enough about me! Let's hurry up and get registered! The sooner we do so, the sooner we can get out into the world and deliver Justice to the ne'er-do-wells of the world!" She says, picking up Freya in a princess carry and and rushing over towards the counter.

Freya waves off Ruby's heathen suggestions. "Oh I'm sure you'll find plenty of time. I can also drop by to deliver my full itinerary directly to you! No matter what, it's important to make time for our lord. I'll be making sure you do." Her speech is sweet and friendly, but her words leave no room for debate. "Yes. Now let us head-AHHahaha!! U-U-Unhand me!!" Freya yelps as she is picked up. How embarrassing for a woman of the church!

"Ahahahaha! As to be expected from a priestess of the Aspect of Life! You're so full of the stuff! This will be a fun journey indeed!" Ruby says boisterously as she runs up to the registration counter. "Excuse me, but may I inquire as to how myself and my lively comrade her can sign up for the Guild?"
