Sleepy-head stops and turns toward Rei's voice. "Hello! I am Hitomi! Welcome to Poison Branch!" Strangely enough, when Rei looks into Hitomi's eyes, she sees that their color is faded for some reason. A shame too, as otherwise they'd probably be such a lovely shade of blue.

She pauses for a moment.
"Also nice to meet someone who will talk to me in the branch. There was another girl I was hoping to talk to but she was pretty quiet and packed up and left. And the leader was being stood in for a pokemon, so I haven't really gotten a good chance to speak to someone."

Hitomi giggles. "Leader Nalkeya does that a lot. Not that most people complain. Honestly, her Pokemon is better at paperwork than she is. At least the [insert Pokemon of the week] is punctual, according to some of the Branch gossip I've heard." She sighs when Rei mentions the 'quiet' girl. "That would be probably be Takako. She's suuuuper serious all the time. Not sure why. As you probably noticed, she's not exactly a social butterfree."

Couldn't be sure of that though." She ponders a moment. "Anyway! I'm starting my night! If you were here earlier, you probably noticed I was asleep, yeah? It's much quieter at night, so it's easier for me to get around."

The eyes thing and humming hasn't really 'clicked' for Rei yet.
"Oh ok, so don't expect her back for a while. Got it. And I'd offer to go with you if I didn't have such an early start to make it to the town and spent my day already. I don't know how long I could stay up. A shame, really, we'd be great together! Two cuties out to paint the night red!"

Rei feels a little embarrassed not putting the pieces together. Her eyes are faded can really only mean one thing. Rei blushes a little at the mistake, but hey she can't see that. (Or see or appreciate her own self, dangit!) Rei decides to just run with it.
"Well 'yeah', you are! Hasn't anyone told you? With how you look I'm very surprised that you don't get compliments all the time!"

Hitomi grins wickedly, seeming to know that Rei has finally put two and two together. The grin lasts only a moment before her face morphs into a perfect image of shock. "I'm cute and nobody told me?!" She gasps. "Those wicked fiends!" She cries dramatically. "All this time I believed I was perfectly average-looking! I could have been exploiting this cuteness the entire time!" She harrumphs. "Clearly, they were all jealous of my cuteness!"

"Cute bat!"
She waves at it.
"No, I know I 'could' but I've always been told as a kid I was a bit of a fragile little thing and would tire myself out easily. It's better now, but it made a real habit of me getting up early. When my sisters would like to go out at the witching hour, I'd try but get sleepy along the way. They'd usually drag my cute sleeping butt back to our house. I mean I can do it if I REALLY try but it requires a late start. Which I'm totally going to do tomorrow if you want!"

The sun is going down, and most folks are headed home for the night, so a lot less noise for our sensitive ears." She reaches up and gently strokes the tiny bat Pokemon. "Zabuza, this is Rei. Say hello!" Zabuza chirps at Rei in greeting.

Unless Rei deigns to try and join Hitomi and Zabuza tonight, she waves goodbye and twirls round once before setting off with that same musical tune she was humming earlier.

Rei heads back over to Bug Branch with the intent to track down Sabine and 'schmooze' with her. Bug Branch's 'entry hive' seems just as lively as ever, with Bug-Types of all sorts hanging about. Neither Sabine nor Sara appear to be in the common room, but there's still plenty of folks to try and get to know. Maybe.
