Ayame's tone has not changed from neutral the entire time, so she's somewhat confused on why he's indicating for her to 'chill'. Nevertheless, she merely shrugs. She has no more words to offer on the subject.

Not quite ready to turn in for the night yet, Lowell searched for wild pokemon (mostly bugs but he'd take trade fodder too) in the route between Saffron and Lavender.

While searching for Wild Pokemon on Route 8, Lowell spies something amazing. It's hard to see, but there is almost certainly a Drapion hidden among the trees.

Lowell looks very excited for about a second before remembering that Drapion are, in fact, not Bug-type pokemon. He released Jamke, grumbling about nature and evolution and it not being fair before motioning for Jamke to try and sneak closer.

Very slowly, and very carefully, Jamke sneaks up on the Drapion. It turns its head, looking in Jamke's general direction for a moment, as if sensing something, but then it goes back to... standing very still. It's unclear to Jamke what it is doing.

The Drapion's behaviour was very confusing to Lowell, so he tried to see if there was something strange around the Drapion. He also pulled out his dex to check, and tried to remember anything he may know about the species.

Lowell called Jamke off (still hidden just in case something happened though) and rounded to where the Drapion could see him, arms raised.
"Yo there. No ill intent, just wanted to know if you'd like someone to help get ya some food as you wait" he said

Drapion hisses at the human that stands before it. After a moment, when it realizes Lowell isn't coming any closer, it relaxes some. Only a little though, as it continues to stare him down. (Disposition raised from Very Hostile to Hostile)
Just as you begin to think you are making some progress, this random girl just stumbles into the area, sending the Drapion into a frenzy!

Maeve and Cú walk through the forest, attempting not to disturb any of the local wildlife in their search for the berry trees. Maeve thought they were doing well. She forgot which of her pokémon she had at her side. Normally she kept her wits about her when travelling with Cú outside of his pokéball, but the kindness of the Weepinbell and the calmness of the forest had made her comfortable. Taking advantage of this, Cú walked beside his trainer, looking for something he could use to prank her. He found his chance when she stopped before a clearing.
"Hang on a second," she whispers as she peered through a bush, seeing a Drapion and a trainer ahead. The Trainer didn't seem to be in command of the Drapion, going by the nest of eggs beneath it. Still it would be better to avoid disturbing the-
With a quick push, the Houndoom sent his trainer falling through the brush, landing in the clearing. Her pokémon did his best to keep his laughter quiet, but Maeve immediately knew what happened through their link. Looks like he might not be getting that berry after all, she thought...
As she rises back to full from her tumble, the Drapion lets out a roar. Realizing the situation, Cú leaps forward to stand in front of his trainer; one of these days he needs to learn to check his surrounding for dangers before he made plans for a prank. "Cú, wait," Maeve shouts as she reaches out with her senses once more.

Now able to "channel" the Drapion, she understands it to be saying: "BEGONE, FIRE DOG, FRIEND OF HUMANS! THIS IS MY TERRITORY! LEAVE OR I WILL SLICE YOU TO RIBBONS!"

Lowell took a couple steps back and couldn't help but sigh in extreme annoyance. He turned to the newcomer with a big frown.
"Heck are you coming from? What on earth possessed you to go out with a fire dog in a forest? Get away, you're agitating him"
He ground his teeth.
"And I was getting through to him too"

Maeve does her best to hide her embarrassment with a smile; "Well, seeing as I'm foraging for berries and this one has a good nose, it seemed like a good idea at the time." Realizing just how much trouble Cú had caused, she decides to recall him (though there would be words later). Holding up the pokéball, a red beam shoots forth, returning the fire dog pokémon.
Taking a few steps back, Maeve turns her attention back to the Drapion. "Look," Maeve says calmly, "the fire dog is gone now, and I'm moving back from your nest. I promise, I meant no harm."

Drapion narrows its eyes, but doesn't move from the nest. Instead, it spits up globs of toxin that harden into spikes which are then scattered all about the immediate area. "Begone humans!" it shouts (though only Maeve understands it).

Lowell made a motion to Jamke to regroup farther along the trees, then grabbed Maeve and started dragging her away.

Maeve is dragged along by the wrist, not putting up much of a fight. Partially because the whole situation was her fault, but also because she is curious about this guy who was trying to negotiate with a Drapion.

Once the Drapion was out of sight Lowell let go of who he was currently referring to in his mind as 'the idiot' and motioned for Jamke to reveal himself and join him.
The Armaldo came out from the trees and settled to Lowell's right as he just kept walking back towards Saffron.

As the young man lets go of Maeve and begins walking away, she calls out to him. "Wait," she declares, "look, I'm sorry I messed up your negotiations there. I came out this way because a Weepinbell told me there were some berry trees out this way and I wanted to collect a few. And I still plan to. Want to come with? I owe you for interrupting either way." A look of contemplation crosses her brow. "I actually wanted to ask you about that, by the way. Why were you trying to negotiate with that Drapion? Could you understand what he was saying?"
