"Well. That ain't good." Brooke looks north, towards Cerulean. It might not be as big as Celadon or Saffron, but it's still large enough to warrant being called a town. An attack by wild Pokemon - enough to overwhelm whatever guards and trained Pokemon live there - would be massive. "All right. We'll head that way and try to get this sorted out. You lot... I guess I can't make you do anything. But if you keep attacking folks, more people like us are going to come after you, and they might not be nice enough to let you go afterward. If you attack the town, then the humans down south will notice - and there are a lot more of them. Hold on a few days, is my advice. Lay low. If we manage to fix this, we'll come back this way to let you know. If not... you'll do what you gotta, I guess."

Leader-sama says it will give the humans three suns (days) to solve the problem and present proof. It has seen/memorized the scent of those who would do its clan harm, as well as their own, and it will know if the party attempts deception. If they do, the penalty will be worse than what has happened so far. These attacks were only warnings, after all. If the problem is not solved, humans will die.
During this conversation, the other Zangoose were beginning to stir from their unconscious state. Injured as they are, and with Leader-sama apparently speaking cordially with the humans (if under duress), they do nothing but watch. Leader-sama is set free by the group shortly thereafter, but leaves the group with a final (reiterated) word of warning: Do not attempt deception. Solve the problem or don't, but dare not attempt to lie about it. If the party lies, and Leader-sama is forced to escalate, it won't be pretty for the humans. Even if his own group fails, there are mightier powers than himself that would take notice of the humans starting a war against the Pokemon (even if the Pokemon started it). The Zangoose warriors then disappear into the tall grass again.

"Well. That coulda gone better. But I guess it coulda gone worse, too." Brooke watches the Zangoose vanish. "Guess we'd better get ourselves over to Cerulean and start figuring this out quick. Three days isn't a lot of time."

Yue continues to sulk, somehow having managed to draw a life sized mural of herself surround by her family, friends, and Poke-friends that looks like it belongs in an art museum. "Am I allowed to do fun stuff now?" She sarcastically asks, clearly still upset that she couldn't open a truth gate in the Zangoose.

Brooke resolves to have that talk she's been meaning to have with Yue sooner, rather than later. "Depends how you feel about hiking and trackin' down some bad people, 'cause that's what we're doing next. Come on."

"Yay! Let's go kill some bad people!" Yue says, jumping to her feet and brandishing her sharp stick.

Brooke resolves to have that talk right now rather than soon. There's still some distance between them and Cerulean, and she'd really rather get this sorted out before Yue ends up cutting someone open. "Yue... why do you want to kill them? We don't even know who they are."

"Well, you just said they were bad people...And the world would be a much better place without them! It's like removing a rotten spot from a piece of fruit before you eat it!" Yue says.

Brooke shakes her head. "People aren't like spots on a fruit, Yue. Hurting people is bad. Killing's even worse. That don't change just because the person bein' killed is bad. Maybe they weren't all bad. Maybe they'd have got better in the future. We just don't know."
"I won't say you should never kill anybody no matter what, 'cause sometimes life is hard. If a fella comes at me with a knife, and I have to pick between killing him an' letting him kill me, I'll pick me every time. That goes double if he's trying to kill you, or someone else I care about. But I don't think it's something anyone ought to feel good about."

"Yue, you do realize that killing is permanent right? It isn't like knocking somebody out, when you kill somebody they're gone for good, and while these are bad guys right now we only know that they're capturing pokemon too much, they're not killing them or people. To kill them for this would be like, locking Bubbles ball permanently because she said something that upset you. Killing someone is a big decision, it's basically deciding that you're going to make a living thing...something else, something empty. You need to understand how serious that is, it's something you should only do in the direst of situations. Never take it lightly, okay?" Leon said with a voice that wasn't angry but concerned wanting the girl to understand that the act of taking a life was something she needed to take seriously

"He is correct, sister. Ending a life should not be taken lightly, nor should it be enjoyed." Nue says, inserting herself into the conversation as if she has been here the whole time. (Which she probably has.) "Father and I have taken lives in the past in the course of performing our job as Shinobi. It is a difficult thing to do."

"Eh? I never had a problem with it when staying with Uncle, though...All it took was a stab to the head of the chest...Wait, does this mean I've done a lot of bad stuff when I was staying with Uncle?!" Yue says, panicking.

"Oh, so you have already killed. Good. That makes this much easier." Nue comments. "As long as you only kill those who need killing, then it is acceptable." Nue nods matter-of-factly.

Brooke is much more taken aback. "You... are you saying your uncle had you kill people?"

"It would make sense." Nue adds. "Likely he wished to break her mind and turn Yue into his personal, unquestioningly loyal assassin to unleash upon whomever displeased him. It is a role not so dissimilar to a shinobi, save that murder would likely be the entirety of her role."

"Well, when I was really little he would throw a squirming bag vinto my room every now and again and tell me to stab until it stopped moving. By the time I realized there we people in the bag I had done it so much that it wasn't a big deal to me anymore." Yue said with a shrug, her matter-of-fact tone making it clear that she still doesn't entirely get what the big deal is.

Brooke stops and gathers Yue into a hug. (It's not clear whether this is for Yue's sake or her own.) "Yue, honey... yeah. That was a bad thing to do. But you didn't know. He did, and he made you do it anyway. That makes it a lot more his fault than yours. But you've got to do better from now on, okay? It is a big deal. Imagine if someone killed me, or Nue, or your ma. That'd be awful, right? Every time someone dies, everyone who cared about them feels like that. It makes the world a sadder place."

"..." For once, Yue was completely speechless. What should she say? What could she say? In the end, the only the she could do is wordlessly return Brooke's hug.

After a lovely talk about the morals surrounding murder-death-kill, the group pulls themselves together again and heads off to Cerulean to rest up. There is a local healer they may wish to visit as well, but either way, that inn is looking pretty welcoming right now. The Zangoose had quickly departed while the group was talking/hugging it out.

Yue didn't say anything during the entire trip. She simply walked along with the group while staring at her feet, her expression hidden behind her bangs.
