"Oh! Oh! Maybe Bubbles can tear a gate in it!" Yue says excitedly.

Leanne looked aghast for a moment, before slowly repeating the sentence Yue just said a few time in her head discussing it with Leon "Yue, do you mean interrogate?" she asked looking at the young woman.

"That's what I said, is it? We tear a gate in it so that the truth its hiding can be extracted!"

"... now I'm not the best with words, but I think interrogate just means asking questions. And maybe pokin' them with sharp objects if they don't answer, but let's start off by asking nicely. I reckon having them alone after seeing the rest of the pack go down will be threat enough."

"Okay!" Yue looks around for a little bit and then picks up a stick and begins to sharpen it.

"Um... you can put that down, Yue, we're not gonna do that part. It ain't right to hurt something that can't fight back." Yue is naturally sweet-tempered enough that Brooke can mostly forget that she was brought up by an amoral lunatic, but times like this she can't help but remember.

After managing to talk Yue out of "tearing a gate in them so their secrets spill out", Brooke and Leanne are able to restrain the majority of the Zangoose fesnyng, save for the one they want to revive to ask questions of. Will you revive the leader, or one of the 'lesser' Zangoose?

Yue sits on the on the ground, drawing in the dirt with her new stick while pouting. "How was I supposed to know it was just an expression..." She grumbles under her breath.

"I guess let's start with the big guy," Brooke decides. "He's the one in charge, he'll know what's going on. Leanne, you feed him a potion, I'll keep an arrow pointed at him so he knows what'll happen if he tries anything."

While Yue continues to sulk, Hearth wanders over to help threaten the Zangoose. Why bother with arrows when you can bring the heat instead.

Leanne does as requested, then backs up a bit. Zangoose Leader is clearly not pleased with the results of this battle, but knows it can't take on all of these humans by itself. Bubbles tries to read its mind when the group asks questions, but it's surprisingly strong-willed. Bubbles is only able to get bits and pieces of a story out of it. Talking directly to it with Clefairy and Bubbles as translators has slightly better results.
Leader Zangoose claims that humans have been capturing its kin with absolutely no regard for numbers. This has been happening for awhile now, and it doesn't matter where they attempted to run to or hide, these humans would always track them down using Tracking Pokemon like Houndoom and Mightyena. So, they now fight back. They attack all humans in an attempt to drive them away. It seems like Leader Zangoose may be hiding something more, but if so, there seems no way of persuading it to speak up. This Leader gives the group an ultimatum to deliver to the rest of the humans: 'Withdraw immediately, or there will be blood.' Leader's tone indicates that it is quite serious about this threat, even if it doesn't appear to have the numbers to actually back it up.

"Hey, Leanne..." Brooke is frowning as she listens to Bubbles relay the story. "Well, Leon actually. Am I wrong in thinkin' this sounds like your family's work? What with Houndooms and Mightyena an' all."

Leanne took a breath calming down a bit as she shifted back into Leon "I don't think so if it was my family they'd be hunting down the Houndoom and Mightyenas. But the methodology sounds familiar, my family made use of people like them when they had a particular type of pokemon they needed a good deal of. It sounds like poachers. People who capture pokemon without a care about how it will affect their population, my family always put on faux care when they hired one 'The species might not recover, but for the greater good it must be done,'" he said repeating their words to him whenever he asked about the crates of apricorn balls brought to the home.
"But in any case what do we do? People aren't going to stop traveling to Saffron and if what this guy is saying is true they're just trying to defend themselves they just don't understand only a small portion of humans are responsible," Leon said wondering what they could do for a solution.

"Really? You've got Rex, I figured... I dunno, that they hunted Dark Pokemon down and then used 'em. Set a thief to catch a thief, that sort of thing. But you'd know better than I." Brooke shrugs. "Anyhow, I reckon you've got the problem in a nutshell. We could ask the Zangoose to move just one more time, I guess, east so they're not right between cities, and then warn other folks not to travel there. But I was actually thinkin' we might see about hunting down the hunters. 's why I asked about your folks, if it were them we'd know where to start looking. If it's just poachers... that's harder. I guess we could give it a shot anyways."

"Me and Rex were both more or less victims of my family, locked up together, I use him in spite of them, not because of them," Leon explained but nodded to the proposed course of action "That's probably the best option, if we can stop the poachers and free the Zangoose they've captured, maybe that will convince these guys to leave human's traveling this road alone," he said as he looked over at Clefairy.
"Do you think you could let the boss know we plan on going after the people that have been attacking him and his kind?" he asked

Clefairy reminds Leon and the group that Pokemon often understand human speech to some extent, even if they are incapable of replicating it on their own. In fact, Leader Zangoose bursts into laughter when Leon suggests that their group attempt to stop the poachers*. Clearly it thinks they couldn't handle it, or couldn't find them in the first place. Which one is unclear. Sure, they beat him and most of his elite warriors, but it claims the poachers* are much stronger than their "pathetic" little group.
* - Leader-sama does not actually use the term 'poachers', it usually says something along the lines of 'that group of humans'.

Brooke folds her arms as this is translated, unimpressed. "Well, you got any better ideas? Seems to me you've got two choices here. One, we all work together to try and make whoever's capturing Zangoose back off. Two, you ignore us and go back to attacking everyone who passes by, until these hunters track you down again and beat the tar out of you 'cause they're too strong to fight. What good's attacking everyone do if you don't think you can beat them, anyway? You're just pissing off all the other humans who wouldn't normally give a damn about you."

Aha, but the Zangoose aren't entirely alone in this. Not in suffering nor their desire for vengeance. The Zangoose tribe is just the most aggressive and willing to spill human blood. Soon enough they will have the numbers to launch an assault on the filthy human settlement where the 'evil group of humans' (seemingly) keep coming from.

Leader-sama rolls its eyes; as if you silly humans don't already know where your own settlements are at! Clefairy reasons that it must be referring to Cerulean Cape Town, just to the North of here. Leader-sama seems to have reason to believe that the 'evil humans' are coming from there; or at least from that general direction. It could be done on purpose to re-direct the Pokemon's aggression, but it is equally likely that they could be hidden somewhere in or around Cerulean.
