"Three trainers? Damn. That's a helluva quota. Flying Branch hasn't got anything like that, they seem pretty relaxed. Most of the Guild does, really, I was kinda expecting more..." Brooke struggled for words for a few seconds. "I dunno. Just more work in general, I guess. Maybe that's just me, sounds like you got plenty to do."

Yue returns with a tray stacked high with plates of food. "If you want work that badly, we could always take the pokefriend quest from each of our boards and complete them while helping each other. Personally I plan on taking that B rank quest."

"Oh, you've already got one of the jobs planned Yue...I was actually going to see if you guys wanted to come along on a mission I got from the Dark Branch." Leon said having hoped to ask the three of them eventually but figured if Yue was going to be busy he might need to find other people to go with.

"I like to keep busy, is all." Brooke shifted in her seat, looking a bit embarrassed about something. "Nothing says we can't do more'n one mission at a time, as long as they don't want you t'be in two different places. I reckon we can find new Pokemon just about anywhere. What's the Dark Branch got for ya, Leon?"

"Well there might be a problem with that Yue, your mission is for the route to Cerulean to the North, but the Dark Branch job is looking for a Dark Type pokemon in the swamp to the west." he said putting the paper on the table "I'm pretty sure we can't do both of these at the same time, and the people I talked to about it acted like the swamp was a pretty dangerous place. So completing it may take a little while" he explained

Alex just listened in as the rest discussed the missions. He thought about what Leon had said about taking a breath and a minute to collect himself. He made a small mental list of stuff that he needed to get done today. First, he wanted to stop by Dark Branch to talk to the Branch Head about Yue. Then he needed to go to Grass Branch and see if there was anything special he needed to do to join. Then he had to spend an hour or so training his Pokemon, and finally he needed to go out to see if he could find a trainer fight or two. He was so broke that any kind of winnings he could find would help.
Alex finally spoke up, "I think I'll go ahead and excuse myself. You guys keep discussing what missions you'd like to do. I have to run and do a few things. If you need me, I should be in Grass Branch or somewhere close. I'll check their board to see if I can't find a mission or two to take also. If we plan on leaving, give me a little heads up though. I may need to stop by the market in town for supplies. I'll go with you guys if you want to buy anything also." Alex was going to mention the fact that he didn't want them to be cheated out loud, but with people in earshot, he didn't want to draw that kind of attention to them. He looks towards Leon and adds, "Thanks Leon. Guess I just needed someone to tell me to go take a break. I've been going non-stop since we got here. A walk in the garden may be just what I need. I'll see you guys later." With that, Alex excuses himself and exits the mess hall.

"No problem Alex, Don't worry we won't go anywhere without you." Leon said waving as he walked off as he looked back to Yue and Brooke "I think Alex has the right idea at the moment. How about we get everything else out of the way first, then come back here around lunch and decide which mission we're tackling first? That would give us all some time to prepare." he said hoping that the suggestion wasn't disagreeable.

Yue nods in agreement. "Sounds good to me! It'll give me time to see if the girls with Eevees are in today!" She says, grabbing Bubbles and running off towards the Normal Branch area.

Leon waved to Yue as she headed off, soon finishing his breakfast as he stood up "Well I should get going if I want to train my pokemon, and find some people to face for the quota, I'll see you at lunch Brooke" he said waving as he went outside, letting Rex and Toadstool out of their balls. Leon gave them a bit of a pep talk, before going through a small mock battle to get them used to fighting.
After they seemed warmed up, Leon returned them before heading off into the city. Looking for trainers to battle.
(Gave Rex and Toadstool Inspired training and Exp training)
(After Encounters)
After an afternoon of battling Leon headed back to the guild, with 2 wins secured and his coffers filled. After getting Rex and Toadstool healed at the infirmary. He headed back to the guild mess hall to meet the others for lunch. Taking a seat and filling his plate as he waited for the others to join them.

"... yeah, yeah, next time I'll let you have take the first shot. I wasn't tryin' to peg the poor little guy that hard, y'know." Squawk. "I know. I was just worried, the way he zapped you..." Squawk! "All right, all right. Sheesh. I hope this is the kinda thing you can sleep off, is all." Brooke re-entered the mess hall with Sharp nestled in her arms. She caught sight of Leon, and headed his way with a nod.
"Hiya. How's your first day in the Guild goin'?"

Leon smiled "Actually it hasn't been too bad, I managed to get 2 wins already, and my second opponent gave me this." he said putting the winnings from his second battle on the table "I might not know exactly how much that is, but I'm guessing it's a lot. How about you? Has your day been alright? " he asked when he noticed she was carrying Sharp "Is something going on with your Spearow? Usually, it's flying around you." Leon said wondering why Brooke was carrying Sharp.

Brooke whistled at the money. "Damn, that is a lot. Looks like you've been doing well for yourself. Wish I could say the same; I lost to a fellow just outside town, then Sharp got himself zapped by a little mouse Pokemon. I thought about catching it, but, uh, ended up knocking it out by accident instead." She rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm not used to shootin' to wound."

"Yeah the guy was so rich he could pay someone to talk to me. Sorry, your day hasn't been as fortunate. If Sharp needs a bit of healing, I have a few items that might help or I could just cover his healing down at the infirmary if you don't mind me giving you some money." he said putting a potion and paralysis heal on the table and was willing to pay for the healing having more than enough at the moment. "I think I still might fall short of the battle quota though, I couldn't find another person to battle. I need 1 more win before I'm done, but it seems like most people are all battled out already." he explained.

"I'll make do," said Brooke, her back going a little stiff at the offer of money. "If you still need a third, I guess I could give you a battle. Won't be lettin' you win, mind." She glanced down at Sharp, clearly reluctant to let him fight in this state, but also unwilling to take what she sees as charity.

Alex walks into the Mess Hall with a big grin on his face, and two papers in his hand. He takes a look around the room for any of his friends. Noticing Leon and Brooke at a table, he casually walks over to them. As he sits down, he lays the papers on the table before the group. He then says, "Ahh I feel better. Got a bit of training in, took a walk through town, found some trainers, and finally joined a branch. Newest Medic/Botonist of Grass Branch reporting for duty!" Alex then notices Sharp isn't right. He leans over Brooke, getting awfully close to her and the bird, and starts to poke around. "Hold on a minute little buddy. I think I've got something for that." he says as he pulls his bag around to the front side of him. He looks around for his first aid kit, and not finding it immediately, says, "Squirt, help me look." The Wingull finds it right away and takes it into his beak. "Thanks buddy." He says as he takes the Kit from the bird. "Brooke, may I?" He says with the kit in his hand.

Leon noticed Brooke's hesitation "You know I don't feel right about fighting an injured pokemon, and If it get's out that I won just because your Spearow was hurt. They'd probably just come down on them harder if I didn't fight the 3rd battle at all. So I'll accept your offer but only if you'll let me heal them first." Leon said acting like it was an honor thing, but he just wanted to do something nice.
Though when Alex came up and offered to help he felt a bit silly "Or we could just have Alex look at him first." he said blushing slightly

Alex quickly goes to work checking over the little bird. As he's looking, he's muttering to himself, "So, no cuts, no bruises that I can see, no punctures. Looks like it's just the residual electricity in your body. I can fix that right up." He pulls a small syringe out of the pack along with a little vial. He fills the syringe out of view of Sharp, and says, "Oh please don't bite me." With that, he sticks the needle into the bird just below the beak in the side of it's neck. One little squawk and one attempted snap later (that Alex just narrowly avoids), he turns to Brooke and says, "All done. He should have full range of movement here in less than a minute or so. You don't owe me for that, it's my job. You guys are out there to get better, I need to keep you healthy. You and your Pokemon." He finishes with a smile, and then turns back to Sharp as the medicine should kick in soon. "Sorry little fella. I know that stings. You'll feel better in a minute."
(Sharp is healed 27 points of health (that he didn't end up needing) and is cured of all status aliments. Alex drains 1 AP. He has two remaining until an extended rest.)

"Be nice," Brooke scolded Sharp, "no bitin' the sawbones. And just 'cause it's your job doesn't mean people don't owe ya for it. That's what a job is. I'll pay you back by shootin' something when we head out east, how's that?"
She stood up, stretching. "But first, Leon and I got a match to fight. One Pokemon, or two?"
