Brooke ducks out of the way and nocks an arrow to her bow reflexively, but the frogs don't seem to be coming back. "Huh. Some kinda frogs, looked like. Are y'all all right? That stuff's not poison or anything, is it?"

Leon shook his head wiping the foam out of his eyes "No just annoying, it seems like they were just using it as a distraction," he said watching as they ran off into the darkness.

"Huh. Well. Maybe we better move on; I reckon they're probably tryin' to scare us out of their territory without a fight, but if we hang around they might work themselves up to one."

"Sounds good to me," Leon said taking his lantern back from Yue "So who wants to take point from here?" he asked.

No sooner has the party set up camp and settled in to rest for a bit then they are awoken by strange noises. It sounds like...wings flapping? Really. Large. Wings. Between the lanterns and Allure the Litwick's flame, the group finds themselves surrounded by large, dinosaur-like Pokemon with...leaves for wings? The Tome calls it a Tropius. They seem.. annoyed that you are here.

Alex pops up excited. He would know that sound anywhere. That flapping and that cry instantly reminded him of home. The days that he would ride around on his father’s Tropius were some of his fondest memories. Alex throws open the flap of his tent. He instantly regretted it as that would probably spook the creatures even more. He paused and focused himself. He needed to treat these like the majestic creatures that they were. Alex took his last Sitrus berry, that was in a few pieces from the Goomy encounter, and also his planter from his pack. He took a few careful steps to the closest one and began to say, “Easy...steady. Look, I’m a Gardener also. We share something in common. Here, try this.” Alex offers a shaky hand holding the berry bits in his hand. He was hoping that the Tropius wouldn’t eat his entire hand.

The Tropius dips its neck down to Alex's level and peers at him. It seems unsure what exactly he's trying to say, but the offering of a berry seems welcomed. It takes the berry and somehow finagles it into the place where it stores/grows berries on its body.

Alex is overjoyed when the Tropius shows a favorable attitude towards the offer. That meant that he wasn’t going to be flattened under the massive beast right away. Yue appeared to be doing her part as well. The Tropius, as a whole, was acting friendly towards the group. Alex thought about what happened with the Wooper and decided that it was too soon to try to persuade one to join. He went searching the camp site for anything that looked edible to the troop. The berry was stashed away to grow, but that didn’t feed the beast. Alex thought that his best bet would be to look for something they could eat to show them that he could be a provider.

Alex scrounges around the campsite and discovers a hidden cache of berries! They... don't necessarily look safe for human consumption, but perhaps Tropius won't mind? If not, they can always be used as Mulch. Offering it to the giant herbivore has a mixed reaction. It does taste one, though it doesn't seem to care for these less-than-ideal-condition berries. Still, Alex has shown he's willing to put in some effort, so it might consider joining him.

Alex thinks for a moment. “Well, it ate them. I hope that’s enough.” He then pulls out his last ball and says, “Please, consider coming with me. We’re kindred spirits. We both love nature and want to cultivate plants. You are perfect for this team. We need your strength and your support. Together, we can do so much more. Let me teach you. In doing so, please, let me learn from you. Your kind are wonderful planters and gardeners. We can learn so much from each other.” Alex repeats his offering, but this time, with the ball. He trembles slightly as he did before, but not with fear. Instead, this time was eagerness. He was hoping, beyond hope, that his feelings were conveyed this time.

The Tropius considers very carefully this offer that is presented to it. It discusses with the other three, who have remained mostly silent up to this point. After a moderate length discussion (a few minutes), it eventually reaches the decision that it will indeed join Alex, while the others remain in the Swamp. They will also allow your group to have this spot for the time being, though they'll offer no extra assistance. As soon as the "Spokesatrop" is captured, the other three fly off again.
Tropius is Male, level 14, Lonely, with Chlorophyll.

During Brooke's watch, all is calm for most of the duration, but right near the tail-end of it, she and sharp spot movement among the reeds. A horde of bellsprout suddenly burst forth from the undergrowth, flailing their leaves wildly. They attack!

Brooke is the one to spot the plant Pokemon, but it's Sharp that reacts first, launching himself off the ground to dive at the nearest pair of them madly. His trainer follows a moment later with an arrow.

Morale Rolls!
Bellsprout becomes Enraged and focuses on Brooke solely until she or they are fainted on a result of 1-50.
On a result of 51-100, Bellsprout instead flees the scene, disappearing back into the wilderness.

Alex exits the tent in a hurry as the battle rages on. He notices though that it is awfully dark around him. Allure was still napping in the tent! He goes back inside and says, “Come on you silly candle! There’s a fight out here!”
(Alex holds his turn as there is nothing he can really do until next round)

"REEEE," Sharp exclaims, as the Bellsprout commits the unforgivable sin of ignoring Sharp to attack his human. The unfortunate plant receives a fierce pecking over this.

When the Bellsprout struck out at Brooke, Leon retaliated kicking the vine creature. Taking a hint from his trainer, Koffing swooped in spraying a cloud of toxins at the Bellsprout he was attacking. Taking advantage of the momentum, Leon's lip curled as he growled at the Bellsprout his shadow striking out at it.
