'Keno, Tori, Oliver, himself, and that last boy. Don't remember the Professor mentioning all of them. He certainly likes his paperwork to track five people's lives!' Barry thought. It was a lot to take in so fast. Two new faces and now a possible double battle at that? Barry glanced towards the nurse. If she overheard that she'd have four more patients soon, she was gonna thump all four of us! 'Must be how she learned to fix them up so fast!' He thought.
"Oh right, you wanted to see this." Barry said as he fished out his ID. "I'm not sure what 'trial' you're speaking of, but Sitri and I have had our share of adventure in the past couple days." Barry was still keeping the stone ordeal close to chest. 'Was that a trial? What is this stone's true purpose?' He thought as his mind went to the stone in his breast pocket. It laid next to the stone from the Lunatone. He felt both were significant enough to pick up, but he was unsure as to why.
Barry spoke up, "I mean, I guess that works. I'm sure the exercise would warm Sitri up a bit. Not too sure how well I'll fair as she's not really bred for battle. Farm work is close enough though right?" Barry turned to Oliver and said, "If we do a double, I hope I don't hold you back too much. Kinda learnin as I go."

Fighting in a pokecenter seemed like a surefire way to tarnish one's reputation or even lose a trainer licence. It was had to say which of the two options would be worse to Keno, regardless, they were both wretched.
"No the center obviously," this Oliver wasn't impulsive, grant him that. What a mess it would have been should he have jumped to throw down. That was a point for Oliver.
Barry seemed hesitant, but was it a lack of confidence, or a lack of skill, that was yet to be seen.
"Outside worked for John," and if it was good enough for him, Keno could endure as well. On the thought of the great outdoors, "or we could run into the tall grass and see who takes down a wild Pokemon first. A little friendly competition?"

"Outside sounds fine. I reckon if we're fast enough, the barricade should still be up. I'm sure people would love to see a follow up match." Barry said with less than usual enthusiasm. He hadn't really gotten a chance to train much with Sitri. He was sure that she'd struggle in a real brawl. On the other hand, battles were a great way to get tougher over all. Barry also considered the catching contest as well. He'd never caught his own Pokémon before. That might be fun. "Or if y'all want to, that catching competition sounds mighty fun also. Good way to get a few new team members." Barry's enthusiastic voice returned when he mentioned the new team members. A slight hesitation was still heard when he mentioned the competition part.
Barry looked down to his phone and read the message. He pointed to the screen as he read along with the names. "Uh huh. John, yup Keno. Oliver. That's everyone. Looks like it's just us five. Oh oh here, the Professor says that if we register each other as contacts, we can share this pokedex info thingy. That will help a lot! I may need someone to show me how to program this thing though. I tried to scan that little blue thing with no luck. I might be doing it wrong." Barry finishes. He waits around to see if anyone will share their contact info with him.

John picks out a white jacket before heading to the junk shop. John, the cashier charges you $10 for the jacket before you leave for the junk shop. You see a balding, overweight man tinkering with a space heater behind the counter. His shop looks like a mess, to say the least, with shelves of parts organized by what they belonged to. Some of them look like broken or outdated pokeballs.

Tori nursed a water bottle, nodding in response as she was quickly introduced, content to quietly observe the boys as they chatted and did a little verbal sparring. That might turn into a little actual sparring? If they really were all interns too, maybe she oughta get in on that. But she'd rather see how the others fought before she tried to take 'em on herself. "I'd be all for a catching contest," she chimed in, stepping up from her seat and slinging her pack back over her shoulders. "An' then maybe... face off the new recruits in that double battle thing? See whose catch is the baddest?"

Upon seeing the junk shop, John is in heaven. Walking up to the man, "Ummm Sir, I need a buncha pokeball scrap, for ya know makin' custom balls and cases." Pausing briefly, "How much ya got for sell?"

The man looks away from his work to look at John. He shrugs and said, "Well, I just gathered a whole trash can full of them from last year. Lots of failed catches were made in this town, when that swarm of Yanma passed through. I'm selling 'em for $1 a pound."

At lease everyone seems up for a challange."Tall grass it is, if there is time for a battle we can do that too, but it might have to wait for Mercury City."
Withdrawing his pokedex, "so we should link up huh?" Keno wasn't fond of gleening knowlage from others work, lest it be said he rode coaltails. On the other hand, if there were supposed to stay together, the connection could allow for faster coordination and even travel.
"Sould be a sinch."
Tech ed NrGjkRfQ2d6 to fiddle with the dex and connect them
Orienting twards the exit, "shall we go; rules suggestions? I dont want to be at this all day so a time limit seems practical, say an hour?"2d6

Keno, you find a "+" sign in your contacts list and an empty template appears on your screen, where you can add the name, number, email, and other addresses to make a new contact. Above it, you see a button that says, "seek". You press it and, after a few seconds, a list of numbers with the names of your companions appears.

“Uh,” Oliver said, thinking of something. “Two questions: First, how are you gonna tell the guy who’s not here about this? Cause otherwise we kinda just ditched him. Second, what happens if two or more of us encounter the same mon?”

lookin to the merchant, "Got a backpack for sell to? cause I'll take 30 lbs and a bag to hold it all if you do." Pausing, "Also if you have any broken balls that are repairable i'd like a look at em. Not really interested in the generic balls but if ya have anything fancier i might be buying."

"John and I planned to meet up here soon, he had errands to run, but if you're worried, I bet we could leave a message with the Doctor. Counter question to your second. the same exct pokemon, or two of the same?"
Keno didn't have an answer to either question exatly, more an opinion. This mostly came ou of there not being any set ranking guidlines set. How should a winner be determined? rarity, level, speed of capture? Further more, whould they be allowed to attempt multipe pokemon... this was turning int quite the logistical production.

He shrugged and said, "What do I look like? Some guy selling outdoor gear? You want a backback? Go to the sporting goods next door. As for balls, I have a few under the counter." He reached below and pulled up three broken balls. Two of them were light green with dark green lines in a net pattern. They were chipped horribly with their inner circuits exposed. The other was a pink one that was smashed in half. He seemed to ignore one behind him that was metallic with gold and silver halves.

He looks back at it and says, "Noticed that did you? I found it in a dumpster. I wondered why anyone would throw it away, but found out that it doesn't open. The locking mechanism is busted, so it's shut tight. So, now it's a display piece and not for sale." He fills multiple plastic bags of scraps and rings up the prices for the three balls. "That'll be $65."

"Easy answer t' your second question, Ollie," Tori added, partway interrupting the end of Keno's sentence. "We all go separate directions outta town, meet back in the middle an hour later." She patted the pocket Getty was still being lazy in, drawing another puff of smoke. "Me n' Getty are go for launch."

Barry was a bit uncomfortable with the idea that they should all take separate ways. 'Pretty sure the Professor wanted us to stay together' Barry thought as the idea was mentioned. Barry thought back to the farm and just how many pests he had to drive off on a daily basis, and that was just his family's small piece of land. Anything could go wrong outside of town.
He turns to Oliver and says, "I still think teaming up would be best here hoss. If yer willing, we could both head out South. That way we can back each other up. If we're double battling later, sure would help us work on our teamwork before hand right?" Barry was also hoping that, with Blitzen being more used to this weather, that having a Pokemon's nose to help them track out potential candidates would greatly help. Barry had a little skill in tracking, and it helped that it was the dead of winter, but even he wasn't the best at it and a lot of Pokemon would be hibernating right now. He really didn't want to come back empty handed.
"We should probably work out some sort of rules also. We don't want to take too long, as this is only a way to fill time while that John guy finishes shopping. We also have to get to uhh....Mercury City I think? The one lab where the Professor's friend is that gym leader. So how about a Double battle, 2 max per person. Our starters here, and one fresh capture. I reckon that will tell us all we really need to know about each other at a glance. How well you've trained your own friends, and how well you can command a newcomer. It will also show a lot about how you plan out battle tactics and such." Barry looks around after his long winded speech and adds, "Or maybe I just overthink things. That's my thoughts on the matter at least." he finishes and goes quiet.
Barry started to fiddle with his Pokedex a bit when he noticed Keno making headway. aqCgvmEm2d62d6

Oliver took out his own dex and tried to follow along. He wasn't sure where he had gone wrong, but he was pretty sure that it shouldn't be beeping and shaking. " Uh, help," he said offering it to Keno. " I think mine is trying to do the Macarana." He could hear Blitzen laughing at him. " Either way works for me really," he said. " But if we're doing this, then let's get started!" " Deerling!"
