The young trainer watched as his magby finally passed out from the attacks, quickly recalling his Pokemon back to the ball, and falling back a bit, trying to cover his head. Curse it all! He had to pull back and let the others deal with it for now! Botshba was already barely on his feet. Bo recalls the fainted Magby, and retreats back 5 meters

Jenny finally snaps out of it. "Oh, no! Go, Growlithe!"She deploys her Growlithe and it blows a cone of fire into the trio of Spearow. One of them drops to the ground, KO'd. Pulling out her baton, she manages to score an impressive hit of her own, whacking one of them hard enough to send it flapping down to the ground before it manages to get airborne again. That one looks pretty hurt and might be captured easily. As Nike once again avoided even a single hit from the Spearow, Justin called, "Alright, just one more hit, and that's officially four that we've handled. Finish it, Nike!" Looking to the side to see how the others were doing, he spotted Bo retreating and said, "And it looks like one of the other competitors has already bowed out. Too bad." From the sounds of it, he was having a lot of fun. He takes a moment though to pull a potion from his bag, and toss it to the younger boy.
Justin once again uses Expend Momentum (Level 2), and uses his swift action (that seems fair, right?) to through Bo a Potion. Asa grabbed a ball from her belt and threw it at the injured bird that had attacked Growlithe. Despite their size, the Spearow's aggression was impressive. Asa seemed to always have her Pokedex in mind. Capture Attempt: | Zdqz_1IC1d20 |

Bo deigns to keep Botshba from going out into the fight, on his meager reserves, less the last spearow make him a target. He grimaced at Justin's words, he caught the tossed potion, making sure to reteat further to be less of a hinderance, should the spearow think he looked the most pleasing of targets.

Growlithe and Jenny's combined attacks are enough to fell the final Spearow.
"Dear me," she puffs, dropping her baton back into her belt and putting her hands on her knees to catch her breath. "I don't know what got into them. We need to pick them up and move them off of the road."
That first Spearow is currently gulping down the final bits of the candy bar.

"That was great, Nike!" Justin said with a grin, hoisting the little rock Pokemon up into the air. "You didn't even get hit once!" he continued, seemingly having forgotten the wounds he himself had incurred. Turning to the other members of the group, he said, "You guys were great too! Your Pokemon worked so well with each other. I swear you looked like you'd trained in double battles at the Battle Frontier!"
At Jenny's comment, Justin looked around, noting the road now peppered by unconscious Spearows. The one that had taken his candy bar looked to be just finishing it. "Let me see if I can handle this last one first," he replied. Placing Nike back on the ground, the Roggenrola still wearing the - now rather battered - Stetson, he walked slowly up to the dining Pokemon, and crouched down. "Hey there little one," he said with a smile. "Seems like you were a bit smarter than your friends. You like that candy?" He took another candy bar from his bag, and fed it to Nike. "I've got plenty more. You wanna come along with Nike and I?" He removed an empty Pokeball from his belt, and placed it on the ground in front of the Spearow, button toward the bird.

The Spearow is won over. It hops up to the button and gives it a peck, allowing it to open and draw itself inside. Spearow is captured!
Level 9. Male. Docile. Keen Eye.
Also, each Trainer earns 4 Levels to give to any Pokémon that they own.
Jenny (and anyone helping her) finishes moving the unconscious Spearow into the tall grass just off the road, and then she urges everyone along. A loud avian cry from behind causes everyone to turn around and look to the sky, where someone is flying in atop a Talonflame. It's Wally. He lands and returns Talonflame to its ball.
"Hi, guys. Sorry it took me so long. Did I miss anything?"

"Oh nothing much..." Asa winced as she inspected the cuts and scrapes on her arms. "Just us almost being pecked to death by a swarm of bird-brain birds!"
She knelt down and inspected her Pokemon before digging through her bag to give them each a bottle of enriched water. "You guys did a good job protecting me." She gave them each a pat on the head.

Grimced, having no words to say at the officer as he released his recently captured, and newly battered Croagunk, generously applying a potion to it to soothe its wounds, in addition to taking out the bruised and passed out Dym from their ball, reviving the knocked out fire type. He was NOT at all amused by the rather inept actions of the Officer that had accompanied them, checking over his Pokemon carefully. Neither of them were in perfect fighting shape, and Dym was on the brink of needing some severe injury care. he turned, looking to Wally as he returned. "It might have gone better if there was a little more Blue in the battle and a little less Yellow." he said, a jab at the so far less than competent Officer Jenny. "Oh, it wasn't that bad," Justin said lightly, then winced as he returned his hat to its place atop his bloodied hair. Disregarding the pain, he continued to say, "Nike and I actually had a lot of fun! We even caught one of the Spearows. That's one down for the professor's Pokedex." Removing a bottle of water from his bag, he asked, "How'd your thing go?" and took a drink from the bottle.

"Uh, fine," Wally answers quickly, casting a nervous glance at Officer Jenny, but she's too distracted with moving the last of the Spearow to hear Wally very well, and Bo's remark flies right over her head as well.
"Here," Wally says, pulling off his bag and opening it. "Please allow me to help. Sorry I wasn't around."
He pulls a few Revives from the bag and hands one to each Trainer. He then pulls several Hyper Potions from the bag and gives two to each Trainer.
"That's very generous of you, young man," says Officer Jenny, approaching and accepting her share of the items as well. "Okay! Everyone use your restoratives and then follow me! We'll continue up Route 01 to the last place the children were seen!"

Justin accepted the gifts graciously, then downed the rest of his water and cast a speculative eye over Wally. He was clearly up to something, and Justin wanted to know what, particularly if - and it was seeming more and more likely - this was the Wally he'd heard about back home in Hoenn.

Justin:Wally is definitely nervous, that much is obvious. It seems like maybe it's Jenny that makes him uncomfortable, but Justin can't tell anything else.

Asa gave a small smile as Wally handed out the items. She tucked them in her bag and hefted it over her shoulder again.
She returned Maw to his Pokeball while Brandy continued on with her nose to the ground, following Asa's original order to try to pick up a scent.

"Move out!" Jenny cries, and the group begins marching onward. Brandy's nose leads her in the same direction for now.
After about fifteen more minutes of travel, Brandy takes a hard right, darting into the overgrowth. Growlithe follows.
"Our Pokémon have found something!" Jenny hollers, and rushes to chase after them. Pushing through the initial wall of tall grass, bushes, and trees, the group arrives in a large clearing. Brandy and Growlithe stand at the edge of a large hole about the size and depth of a public swimming pool. A single adult stands at the top of the hole across from the party, watching the goings on down within the hole. Down inside, there are two more adults and five children. No, wait. It's three children and two Machop. The five of them are digging, still making the hole bigger and deeper. The children dig away with their picks, their eyes blank and their faces expressionless. They dig in perfect rhythm with one another.
The adults all wear attire that is almost exactly like the outfits worn by that terrible criminal organization that hasn't been seen for decades - Team Rocket - only instead of a big, red "R" emblazoned onto the front of their shirts, these guys sport a big, yellow "F".
Floating in the air high above it all is a single Abra.
"Chop!" one of the Machop yells, and holds up some kind of fossil.
"Hey, one of the Machop found something, boss!" yells one of the men down in the hole, taking the item from the Machop and holding it up.
"Lemme see," says the man at the top. He takes a few steps that way and leans in, squinting his eyes as he stares at the fossil. "Nope," he says, standing back up. "It's not the one we want. Put it with the other one."
The man in the hole tosses the fossil up out of the hole, where it lands near another one that was presumably tossed up out of there earlier.
"I've found something, sirrrr," one of the children says in a long and monotone way.
"Lemme see," the man in charge says again and heads that way. He looks at this one and his eyes grow wide. "That's it! That's the one we need! Start packin' it up, boys, we're done here!"

Sighing a bit, he trudged along with the rest of the group. He was not looking forwards to having to let Dym fight again should they come across anymore fights. As useful as Wally's restoratives were, Dym was just excruciatingly beat up from the fierce pecking. Fights from now on would rely mostly upon the new, curious, and slightly annoying presence that was the Croagunk. He did not feel the frail frog pokemon would be perfectly up to the task should the fight become long and drawn out. Maybe....
He purposely started to lag behind the group. Jenny was far too engrossed in her marching order to hopefully take notice, as Brandy and her Growlithe went on sniffing out the trail of the children. Taking every effort to be non-chalant, he fiddled idly with his Pokedex, waiting for the right moment, before using the special function, to swap out his injured Dym, for Toks who was waiting on standby.
While doing this, he was the last of the group to take note of finally finding the children, biting back on his lip, thinking as he surveyed the situation. When the group was gathered, he quietly spoke.
"If you let me send Botshba to leap out and Astonish one of the Machop, I could take it out of the fight for at least a moment. If you have a better plan, do it now." He said, keeping his voice to a low whisper as he reached for the ball.

Wally slowly pulls a Poké Ball from under his coat, but he waits to see what the others do.
One glace at Jenny's face and posture makes it very obvious that she's seconds away from giving away the whole party's presence by shouting for everyone to put their hands in the air or some horribly overdone police-type thing like that.

Asa assesses the situation fairly quickly and gives a harsh whisper of direction. "Officer Jenny, you and Growlithe take the man in the pit so he can't hurt the kids. Bo, you and Justin take out those Machops." She glanced at Justin for a brief moment. "Might want to use your new bird instead of Nike...""Wally, you've got he biggest Pokemon, stop the man at the top of the hole from fleeing. Knock him in if you can so Jenny can arrest him.... Leave that Abra to me and Brandy, we've got the range to deal with it's levitate."She looked at everyone with a brief glance to make sure they knew the plan. "Right, let's go in fast and hard!" With that, she jumped out with Brandy already spewing fire at the Abra.
