"Alright then, we'll head to the rooms to allow you to drop off your things as quickly as possible." Oswald walks you inside the castle. The front hall is elegant, with different trophies from the Knight's previous battles all around. The helmet of the Tyrant King, the Sword of Lost Souls, the Blade of Berserker Rage, all of the weapons and artifacts from the stories are there. Oswald beckons you towards a flight of stairs. You would estimate you went up about two floors before making it to your rooms. There are two, one for women and one for men. Aviss and Elizabeth head into their room and you head into yours. The room is aglow with several torches lining the walls. There is a balcony just outside, along with a sprawling lawn meant for practice battling. The room itself has 5 beds, each with a large dresser next to it.

Bryant walked right in and grabs bed that's closest to the window. Tossing his stuff into his bed, he carefully removed his Glaive from its carrying position on his back and rested it against the wall. He'd organize his stuff after their exploration was done and he still had to write that letter to Aleera. He stretched out his hand and rested it against the wall as he scanned the room that would be his residence for the time.
"Any chance I could get a wall rest for my weapon, or must it be kept in the armory?"

Egon peeked in then headed for one of the beds on the sides of the room, right next to the wall. Without many ceremonies he dumped his backpack on it to mark it as occupied, then he was already ready to go and explore something more interesting. The gardens waited! Or the library. Or.. well, he wasn't picky and there was a lot to see. To be honest, he didn't particularly care for the sparring space, but he'd probably have to learn how to use a sword. Sooner or later. Probably later.

Rinka looked at all the artifacts in awe as they passed them, before finally setting his backpack beside his bed in the room. Rinka takes the sleeping bag out of the backpack, and proceeds to fold it into a small pile on the floor for Caliber to sleep on or in. "I'm a little suprised we're all staying in the same room, though I guess that'll help us get used to each other's company easier!" Rinka pats the bed, as if checking its softness, before preparing to continue walking. "So then, where to next? Shall we head to the library once everyone's finished unpacking?"

Sawyl tried not to look like he was rubbernecking too much, but it was hard to avoid when they were surrounded by mementos of the knights' history. Just because he loved telling stories of his own didn't mean he didn't listen to them, too. "Is that the Sword of Lost Souls? Really?"
His bag was slung onto one of the beds nearest the balcony without much ceremony, and he started digging through it to tuck a few things in his dresser. The clothes in the bag were folded neatly, and a few things that they'd been wrapped around were set on top - the most prominent was a large, spiraling conch shell. "I expect once we've been here longer we'll get our own rooms. Proved ourselves, that sort of thing. After all, I can't imagine the Knights all share rooms when they're all here." He looked out through the balcony, though most of what he saw from this height was just the practice lawn. "I still want to see from those towers."

Quill was a bit perplexed at Rinka's comments. To him, sharing a room was simply what was done. Whether in his crowded house, the orphanage, or the dorms of the Academy, he always fell asleep to the snores of others. He cocked his head slightly at Sawyl's comment. "Own rooms?" he mumbled.
With the library book returned Quill only had light baggage. His notes could barely be considered to be bound, but Quill paid no mind to aesthetics as he sorted his papers on the top of his dresser. As cliche'd as it might be, he only had a few worn robes to his name. A small hand sickle was stored in them for the trip, and seeing no more room on the top of his dresser, Quill shoved it underneath his bed.
"Yes, the library sounds great! I'd love to see what the Knights like to read."

Oswald turns to Bryant and says, "Anything you need sir, just say the word. We can have a rack installed by tomorrow morning." He waits for all of you to finish unpacking and listens to your requests on places to go. "We can head to the library and once we are done there, we can head to the towers for you, Sir Sawyl." He leads you down back to the main hall and heads into a door on the right. You follow and see a library filled with books from top to bottom, from one side of the room to the next. "Anything I can do for you, dearies?". A little old lady sits nearby, reading a large book entitled "Magic and it's Effects on the Economy of Ransei.". "We have any book you may need for any situation, look around and enjoy yourselves."

That was a -lot- of books. Egon sort of wanted to stop the tour here, and when he answered the lady he didn't even look at her, attention still fully focused on the rows upon rows of books. "Just exploring around for now." He was visibly conflicted as he answered. "But I will definitely return. Are there books on plants? And history! And.." He forced himself to stop with a light blush of embarrassment: two topics at a time was probably enough.

"Woooaahh...." Rinka was at a loss for words. So many books. So many stories to read. So many tales to be inspired by. "Um, I can't stay for long, but just so I know when I come back, are there any books about the Knights' journeys? Or any stories about heroes?" While he wanted to stay and read, he wanted to finish the tour. He could come back later, after all.

Bryant nods his head in salutation, mindlessly reverting to Heracles gestures and etiquette.
"Good day, ma'am.. I apologize about the disturbance to your reading, but we're all pretty excited about being here and some of us really wanted to see the library. Just out of curiosity, are there any books on woodcarving? It has been a pastime of mine for a while now. Some light poetry would be nice as well" he said, his eyes scanning the room and taking in the majesty of the library. The smell of paper and ink was one he had always loved.
His eyes went wide for a second before he addressed the woman again.
"Also, may we have your name?"

The wonderful smell of a library. Truly intoxicating and somewhat nostalgic even if it was his first time in this particular one. "Unfortunately we can't spend much time here, but I'll definitely be back." He grinned at everyone's book interests. He remembered something he had overheard from Ms. Silvia, "You can tell a lot about a person by the books they read."
"Although before we have to leave I'd love to know how large your magic section is." Quill asked a huge smile plastered on his face. He didn't realize he was quite close to the old librarian, invading her personal space. He was just too excited to contain himself.

Sawyl isn't much for books. Clearly quite a few of the other recruits are more intellectual than he is, considering the general gushing about the library. So, uncharacteristically, he more or less fades into the background once they step in - though he has to admit even he's astonished by the size of the library. He's never seen so many books in one place before.
Wonder what sort of stories they have... He supposes getting a human's perspective on his own race might be good to know, too, if he's going to be diplomacizing - which seems likely - but he'd much rather read an adventure story if he has to be reading something. What he's learned about politics so far has convinced him that it's deadly boring.

"To answer all of your questions, we have books on all kinds of topics that you can enjoy. Just ask me and I can tell you where to find them. Even adventure stories," she says as she gives a knowing wink to Sawyl. "My name is Margaret and it's a pleasure to meet all of you. I would love to show you all around the library but I'm pretty sure Oswald wants to get on with the tour." Oswald harumphs at this. "There is a task that the Knights have given for the young masters to complete, so yes, I would like to keep on schedule." he says. "Goodbye, children!" Margaret cheerfully says as you walk out of the library and she returns to her reading. "Apologies but you will have time later tonight to explore the castle but for now let's head to the towers. Oswald walks you up several flights of stairs, stops in front of the farthest door down a long hallway, and lets you inside. Inside there is only a small window. "This is the surveying tower. You can see the entire castle grounds from this height. Go ahead and look." You look outside the window and see that the greenery stretches back farther than you had originally thought. You can see large Pokémon like ants from this height as well.

Egon held his breath in as he admired the landscape extending into forever under them but couldn't help but eyeing Oswald from time to time, curiosity obvious in his gaze. "Sir.. what is that task you were talking about?" Apparently he couldn't find a position to still himself in: while talking to Oswald the greenery below kept attracting his focus. Still, he managed to sort of keep looking at the man long enough for an answer. "Do you know? Or will we have to return to the knights?"

Bryant smiled as he took in the sights. Let it never be said that his new lodgings weren't impressive. The gardens and the Pokemon that filled the grounds gave the image a sense of life that rendered the picturesque sight almost alive amongst the rustling of leaves and the buzzing around of countless creatures.
At the mention of an assignment Bryant snapped out of his awe and went into buisness mode,
"An assignment, you say? We'd better go see what it is, then. Being late to our first meeting does not set a good impression"

The sight of such brilliant forestry brings a sense of peace to Rinka. Though it also brought a sense of nervousness, as he didn't want to get lost down there. This was definitely a grand castle, and he was glad he would be staying here. He turned towards Egon and spoke. "I doubt it's anything to huge. It's likely a test of our basic abilities, or something along those lines.Regardless, I agree with Bryant. We've essentially seen what we set out to explore, for the most part, and we can explore the gardens in depth at a later time. I wouldn't want to keep the knights waiting because of curiosity, after all."

Sawyl leaned on the windowsill, all but sticking his head out into the open air. Now this was more like it. Nothing like the sea air he was used to, of course, but he'd always liked being in the crow's nest, seeing the world spread out around him and feeling the breeze. His gaze wandered over the grounds below him, trying to at least pick out enough landmarks that he could avoid losing himself in the grounds later. This place was gigantic.
He was grinning when he stepped back from the window, displaying a mouthful of rather sharp teeth. He ran his fingers through his hair to smooth it down where the breeze had mussed it. "Now that is what I call a view. Thank you, Oswald. Nice to get a sense of perspective." Nothing helped Sawyl's image of himself as the center of the world like being literally above it all. "I suppose we really should see to that task. I hope it isn't too simple. It's no fun if things are too easy."

"I think you all will enjoy this task. It requires you to explore the gardens to your heart's content but for a reason." Oswald is speaking as he leads you down the stairs. "The Knights are asking you to catch a Pokémon from the gardens. It can be anything you'd like, but a second fighter at your side will be nice for the quests ahead. The gardens carry a variety of Pokémon for you to catch but try to share." Oswald has the front gate opened and leads you to the center of the front garden. "Have fun and be in once the garden lights come on." Oswald smiles and walks inside. The gates close and leave you outside. Make a Perception check if you'd like to try and find something.

Egon's eyes literally lit up at the chance of exploring the garden, and he got even more excited as he heard they had free rein on pokémon catching. He summoned Micah to his side, then his expression turned thoughtful as he looked at the Paras, then at his own bags of collected spores and back at the pokémon again. "Are we splitting up?" It made sense if they wanted to cover the most ground, but he didn't look forward to being locked in an one-on-one fight. Especially if there were fire pokémon to stumble upon. "I suggest we stay together, or at least split into pairs with a trio."
Hate losing a post to browser crash. Anyway.. looking for THINGS. Ideally grass-typed things able to do more than dumping statuses on other things. Maybe a Turtwig? JGEhf5U23d6+1

Well, now Sawyl was really glad he got that look from the tower, and not just for the breeze. He flourished with his coat dramatically as the gate closed, leaving his sword free. "No need to worry. I'm sure the Knights' successors can handle a stroll around the grounds, can't they? Especially you, Egon - you look like you know your way around a garden."Seeing Egon summon up his Paras, he raised a hand to open his own portal. Davy emerged at a dignified pace, a proud-looking Corphish with the spikes on his head covered by a three-cornered hat. Sawyl glanced around for a moment before striding off boldly, never mind that he didn't know his way around a garden particularly, or a forest, and basically just picked a direction at random. If someone else wanted to follow him and leech off his glory (or just make sure he didn't get into trouble), that was fine with him. He had a vague idea about looking for one of the larger Pokémon he'd seen from the tower, for an impressive capture, but honestly, he knew that might be biting off more than he could chew. Maybe it wasn't such a good plan. Well, he'd see if he stumbled across anything interesting. Fairy-types were in fashion right now, weren't they? Looking for big Pokémon or Fairy-types, mostly, but Sawyl will be interested in anything sufficiently cool. qSrjhBhD2d6 2d6
