Haruka's cheeks puffed up a bit at the implications in Erica's statement about her plan, "W-well! I thought a threat like that would work, since they were obviously thieving cowards. If they didn't want a fight that much, I thought they'd give into a threat like that." She personally thought it had a good chance of working, even if it didn't at the time. Though... she didn't particularly agree with Dean's assessment... Haruka doubted Dean's challenge would have ever worked, though she kept her mouth shut about it just to keep the harmony. Silence stretched out for a bit before Haruka broke it, "I... I guess I'll do last watch then." At least it wasn't second watch, where her sleep would get divided in two... and she was a bit of a morning person anyway.
With that, the other two got caught up in their own affairs with their pokemon, so Haruka retreated back to her tent. Kasai... looked really hurt, so Haruka wouldn't send him out for now. She'd check on him in the morning, maybe after he got some rest. Though... now would probably be a good time to check on Wata. She rummaged through her bag, set down next to her sleeping bag, and pulled out the pokeball. After a moment, she pressed the button and released the creature. She knelt down into a non-threatening position as the Dustley appeared. "Hello! I'm sure you're confused, but you aren't in danger anymore. I got you away from those mean birds. I'm Haruka and I'll be your pokemon trainer now. I'll make sure to take good care of you so nothing like that happens again," she said soothingly.

Erica just laughs off Haruka's comment. She can think what she wants, Erica's own plan with the repel was the only one to get a result. She finishes sitting out her tent, and sets up a little light on the top so she can work while she keeps watch. As the other two head to bed, she first takes out the broken ball that started this whole mess. She lets her toolkit loose, and begins working on it. However the pure silence of the outdoors is freaking her 'used to city' mind out a little bit, and a branch breaking in the distance startles her, and by accident, an integral piece of the ball goes flying off into the woods.
Well that ball is now dead then.
Erica sighs loudly and throws the pieces back into the dirt. Onto the next option she supposes. She takes out the broken dex. She doesn't know what having a spare dex might do to help her, but hey maybe there's some info on it she can use, or she can take it apart for spare bits? Seeing how important a dex is, it's worth a look.

While Dean reads the dex entries, Sentinel and Hemlocke stare at each other. Sentinel puts his shield aside, a sign of good-will, but Hemlocke keeps her careful gaze. Maintaining a safe distance from the iguard, she approaches Beacon instead. The cresclo fearlessly approaches the prikpin, slowly circling it once before rubbing herself onto Hemlocke's soft underbelly. Sentinel simply sits close-by, cleaning and smoothing his shield. Satisfied with his team's interactions for now, Dean recalls them before getting into his tent for a well-deserved rest. Haruka is already cozy in her tent when she introduces herself to Wata. The dustley listens calmly as she speaks, and as soon as the girl is over, Wata moves closer and cuddles on her legs. Haruka caresses her fur, soft yet coarse, and soon the pokémon is peacefully sleeping. Haruka feels drowsy as well and gets ready to join Wata. Erica lets her two newest members socialize a bit while she sets her tent up. Kras is a bit shy, cautiously looking at the muddlebee, but Skre is much more active and splashes some mud at the faintrick. Kras freezes up at first, but when she notices Skre is laughing, she relaxes and brushes some dirt back at the muddlebee. Both pokémon laugh for a while, and then Erica recalls them and moves to her position as guard. Erica's watch is uneventful, besides her own tinkering. The pokéball is a challenge and she can't really do much, but the pokédex was a simple case. A cracked screen and a disconnected battery station, nothing she can't handle. But once the device works, she starts studying about its owner. Adrian Sallos was his name, and it seems he was another newbie, judging for the 2 only entries - a crocoal and a faintrick. She doesn't have much time, though, because soon after Dean comes to replace her, and then it's Haruka's time. The whole night is calm and everyone seems to be pretty rested once the sun is up. It's another hot day, with a clear sky and some humidity in the air, likely because of the proximity to the pond. Erica
You can get 75 Tech Scrap from the broken pokéball OOCYou may now apply your Experience Training and other Features. I'm letting you roleplay that bit, as well as Skre's evolution and also roll for scrap/trouble for the day.
And, to be honest, I need to know where you'll go next xD

Adrian, huh....As Dean comes to take over, she shrugs and puts it away. Something for the morning. It still takes her a bit to get to sleep, but she is finally able. When she wakes up, she's very groggy. She wants a shower, something she ain't gonna get right away. This is unfortunately something she's going to have to get used to. She releases her team, and takes the time to apply training techniques to them all. Inspired to Everybody, and Xp training at my pitiful untrained skill to Skre and Pluc. When she's paying attention to Skre, Kras runs off into the forest again when Erica wasn't looking. When she turns around confused, Kras comes running back with another offering. Not as cool as the last one, but Erica isn't one to deny something useful. Some sort of berry this time. She pets her on the head. "Oh you are sticking with me. You ain't going anywhere."When she turns away from Skre, the Muddlebee begins burrowing in the ground. Erica turns around, annoyed. "Hey! Get back up here we aint done yet Skre!"Erica bends over to look down the small hole he dug, and looks inside. But she stumbles back when a bright shiny light shoots out like a laser, nearly blinding her. She sits up as it fades, and looks as something... odd digs it's way out in place. She's about to question when her dex dings with a new entry. "...the hell?"She takes out her own dex and sees this new little drill crab thing is called a Drillinder and it evolved from Muddlebee. She looks to it, and then the others. "Ummm... I'm confused? Help?"

Haruka watched the Dustley as she spoke, feeling a bit nervous. Well, she wasn't running away or looking frightened so... that was good, right? Though, her worries were interrupted by the Dustley cuddling with her after she finished. Aaaaaaah! So cute! She couldn't help but let out a little cry of happiness, she was relieved that the Dustley seemed to like her, she didn't now what she would do if Wata had actually been afraid of her. Haruka settled into her sleeping bag, running her hand through the Dustley's fur as she does so. It was so soft too! Haruka let out a happy sigh as she got into a comfortable sleeping position. She was going to need her rest for tomorrow, considering they still had a ways to go... and now that she was resting, she couldn't help but feel very... tired...
Haruka woke up when it was her turn, yawning widely when Dean shook her awake. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes before dragging herself out into the darkness. She... wasn't enough of a morning person for this to still not be very early for her, but... she could stay awake. And since she had some time... She pulled out her cooking supplies and the new book that Erica had given her and began flipping through it.
Time passed... and after a bit of a study and experimentation session, she sent out Kasai in the flash of red light. The Crocoal blinked and shook at the sudden change of scenery. "Are you alright Kasai? That last hit you took seemed like it hurt...," Haruka said worriedly, as she inspected through his fur. There seemed to be bad bruise and Kasai jumped and growled when she poked at it, so she let it be. He seemed to be moving a bit slower, which made her worry more... But the more she worried, the more Kasai seemed unwilling to tolerate her prodding at her, so she begrudgingly left him alone. "I'm just worried about you, okay? I don't want you to get hurt or anything..."
Haruka fidgeted as she brushed hair that had gotten in front of her face. Kasai seemed faintly uncomfortable, so she began speaking, "I... have something for you to test! It's that meal from yesterday, but I think I've improved some. I have this cookbook and... oh, you already ate it." As she spoke, the Crocoal devoured the concoction on the plate in front of him. She peered at the pokemon for his reaction and felt pleased as he seemed to enjoy it. "Ah, well.... I'm glad I could do that at the very least. Hmm... I think I can make this for the other two as well..." Muttering to herself, she went back to work, whipping up more Baby Food.
When the others woke up in the morning, they found plates with a nicely arranged dish as well as a small slip of paper tucked under it. On one side was a complicated looking design, filled with whorls and designs, while on the other was a hand-written note. It read: 'Good morning! I learned a few new tricks from the cookbook and this is the result, feed it to one of your pokemon, it should have the same effect as the meal I gave you yesterday! Though, it should taste a little better than before. The other side is a charm for luck in education, which hopefully extends to learning in training, keep it at least through this morning and I'm sure you'll have good fortune!'
Haruka herself has gotten an early start for training, getting Kasai warmed up and teaching Wata a little about tactics. She smiled faintly as Erica joined her in the middle of her session. She mostly kept to herself, trying to get Wata caught up, though a sudden flash of white light drew Haruka's attention. Turning around, Haruka saw that... the bug thing looked different? She stared at it for a few moments before it clicked. "Oh! Your pokemon evolved, congratulations!" She adjusted her glasses, wracking her brain for memories. The family Vulpix had gotten a bit... aloof once it had evolved into a Ninetails, but... it had still liked her, so... "I um... I'm not certain, but you should praise him! He evolved probably because he was working hard during training. He's still... the same bug as before, he just looks a little different. Pokemon attitudes can... change a bit I think, but they're still the same pokemon, so don't treat them any differently!"

Erica had fed the dish to Skre earlier as a 'sorry for getting you kidnapped' gift. She had also pocketed the 'charm'. Not that she believes in that but Haruka is at least trying to help in her own way. It's the thought that counts, right? Forward to the bright lights, and Haruka explaining that's an evolution. "Oh it evolved? Why did Skre go off like a flashbang and try to blind me? Or is that just normal?"She mentions praising him, and Erica agrees. She picks Skre up. "Well Skre, seems you are on the way to power already. I like it. Welcome aboard!"She carries the newly evolved Skre around under her arm and looks to Haruka. "Dean out here yet? We need to keep moving to make it to the Professor on time. I got words for her, so kinda need to make it there. Should we get back on the main path or continue on our little forest romp?"Regardless, Erica is looking for resources. This time, using the base Survival roll! Z8Oo77vW4d6

Haruka seems to think for a moment from Erica's questions. She... wasn't sure? She knew it happened at evolutions, but not really why. "I... don't know? I know evolution always has that flash of light but... I don't know why it happens or anything. I think you'd have to ask Dean about that, most of my knowledge is practical things I got through observation. But, um... yes, I'm fairly sure it's normal for evolution."Seeing that Erica has mostly finished her training, she gathers up her pokemon and crouches down to pat Kasai, "I'm going to keep you in the ball for now, okay? You seem to be a bit stiff from yesterday and I don't want you to exert yourself and injure that further..." The Crocoal didn't seem to like the idea, but let Haruka return him anyway. She felt a little bad about it, but... it was for his own good! She didn't want him getting hurt even worse from something silly like just running around. She kept Wata out though, letting the Dustley curl up nearby as she rested from the training she underwent. "Well... I'm a bit worried about Kasai, since he took a big blow from the leader yesterday... And Wata is my only untouched pokemon, so I'd prefer to head into town as quickly as possible... We also shouldn't keep the professor waiting since she is expecting us there today. So... I'd prefer the most direct route, whatever that is."Haruka will look around for cooking scrap again with an Intuition roll.

When Dean wakes up, he sees the plate of Pokémon food that probably Haruka had left for him. Once he reads the note he smiles, maybe that little witch girl wasn't too bad afterall. After getting ready himself he releases his Pokémon for a quick morning routine. He gives them a quick bite to eat, offering the food Haruka made to Beacon this time. When he sees his traveling companions training in the distance, he decides to take a bit of distance in order for his Pokémon not to get distracted. With Sentinel and Hemlocke his training was simple. He had the porcupine pepper the Iguard with poison sting attacks and Iguard was blocking with his shield. The target practice went marvelous, with only a couple of the quills hitting the Iguard's exposed tail. When they were done and Dean told them to rest, Sentinel shot Hemlocke a dirty look before starting to take the quills that got stuck to his shield out. Hemlocke Curled up into a ball to ignore the lizard's look. It was then time for Beacon's training. Nothing too hard for now, just a quick glance at her capabilities. It wasn't the fastest Pokémon around, but Dean knew a way around that. He asked her to shoot a concentrated stringshot at one of the tree branches and then retract, making the Cresclo propel itself along using the string. It wasn't going smooth by any means, but the potential was there. One thing he was truly impressed by, was the fact that the small glowworm knew the move confuse ray. This would sure come in handy if she was to battle much. After a little while, Dean recalls both Beacon and Hemlocke and makes his way over to where both ladies are standing. Dean immediately spots the new Pokémon under Erica's arm, quite impressed with the speed Muddlebee had evolved. "Wow Erica, that sure was quick. At least, I mean if that's the evolved form of your Muddlebee?"When Erica and Haruka discuss the process of evolution Dean nods at Haruka's statement. "That's pretty much how it goes, yeah. The light is just some sort of effect, kinda like releasing a lot of energy at once that's needed to evolve. I hope we get to see it a lot more often during our travels.""Speaking about that, I think we should get going. I guess you girls want to head straight to the professor's lab right? Anyway I could convince you ladies to take just a little bit of a detour to the beach? I've spent so long at sea the last days, but I didn't get the opportunity to jump in the water at all. I think our Pokémon might like it too. Well, maybe except for Kasai.... What do you say girls?"Dean will go with the other two no matter what. Even if they decided against the beach idea. Anyway, Dean wouldn't be Dean if he wasn't looking for trouble.

"Yeah it's Skre all changed now into a tiny drill crab! But yeah ok, I guess I'd just like a warning before my pokemon tries to blind me."
She pauses as he suggests the beach. She tilts her head and smirks.
"Sure you don't want to just see two girls in bikini's?"
She thinks seriously.
"Well I don't know. I mean the beach doesn't sound like it'd be too hectic a place... What do you say, Haruka? I mean you'll be more likely to find non-gross pokemon there. Maybe something other than your beat up Kasai or a bunny?"

Haruka frowns at the question, she... didn't really want to make another pit stop. She honestly wanted some time in the pokemon center in Etaoin to put herself back together after spending a night roughing it... though she wasn't going to say that outright. "... I... don't know. I'd rather not. It'd be more out of our way than it was before considering we have to go back to the main path and then keep going past to get to it... plus if we spend time there, I don't know if we'll make it to Etaoin with any time to spare and I'd really prefer to have some."
Haruka thought some more, "Not to mention... the reason we decided on going this way instead of the beach is because Route 2 looks like it's mostly going to be near water. I think we'll get another chance to go to the beach."
Though Haruka ended with a shrug, "But if you two really want to go that way, I'll follow I suppose... I don't want to walk to Etaoin all by myself, after all..."

A goal in mind, the group decides to head back towards the route to have a shorter trip. Soon they are on the path, a dry dirt trail with white markings on both sides. A patch of carefully grown grass with scattered pale flowers surrounds it, and the group finds it really much easier to travel. They can see the ocean on the right, the air salty and humid with the proximity, while the grasslands extend to their left, signs of life on the distance where birds fly and the grass rustles. It's all very peaceful and pleasant. After a couple of hours of brisk walk, the group finds themselves on top of a small hill and can see their destiny ahead. Etaoin Town stands no more than an hour away, it seems, and it's actually not very big. Perhaps two dozen buildings in total, most simple wooden cabins. There's a white building with bright red lines right on the entrance, the clear marking of a PokéCenter, and seeing it renews the trainer's desire to get there sooner. Dean, Erica, and Haruka push forward under the rising sun, much earlier than the agreed time with the professor. And, of course, that's exactly when the group is startled by a group of small light green pokémon running. Three of them cross the route going towards the ocean side, the white flowers on their heads almost losing their petals. It only lasts half a second, and then two ophidian pokémon are on the chase, with blue skin and red markings, disappearing on the grass to the south after their prey.

Somewhat relieved they were going straight to town, Haruka's walk was a little more enjoyable. She kept at the pace of the other two, but she made sure to take in her surroundings this time rather than be on edge the whole time. The main path was very nice and maintained, which made it easy to see things in any given direction. It also seemed like it was going to be a nice day, if a little warm. Haruka wished she had packed for clothing for warmer weather.
Soon, Etaoin itself came into view and Haruka smiled slightly. They had made good time! There was definitely enough time to prepare to meet with the professor and maybe have some time to explore the town a little bit! She didn't have much money on her, but maybe she'd be able to find something in her price range that was interesting. She hurried onward, slightly more quickly than before whenthere was a sudden blur of movement in front of her, causing her to yelp and stop in her tracks. It took her a few moments to gather what was going on, but when she did, her eyes widened.
She spun around quickly to address her two companions, "Come on, we have to save those three! They're too cute to get eaten by snakes like that!" With that, she dashed after the group of pokemon, getting Wata's pokeball ready as she did so.

As they walk, Erica squints. The sun is an awful thing and she hates it. At least going off the beaten path meant there were trees breaking the light up. But on this path, it's all bearing down on her. Ugh. But it seems they are getting close to their destination and her answers from Professor Lotus. She'd also been toying with the broken dex she had managed to fix. This 'Adrian Sallos' lost his dex to the faintrick almost immediately, so she wonders if he got that far...
And then a distraction runs across the path and nabs Haruka's 'cute' sense almost immediately. Erica rolls her eyes, recalls Skre from the position under her arm (With the flash case she's switched to), and heads after. Haruka one track mind of 'cute' will get her lost, and considering they nearly split up last night, Erica heads after.

Dean walks along the path with his hands behind his head, basking in the light of the sun. Lavardige was built around a volcano that constantly exhumed soot, so not a lot of sunlight broke through. Next to him, Sentinel prodded along lightly, twirling his shield around as he went.
Even though he had rather been exploring some more, he was happy to see Etaoin in the distance. Maybe if they could speed up a little more, there would be plenty of time to talk to the professor and hit the road again. Honestly, he'd rather camp outside then spend the night in a pokémon center. His attention was suddenly grabbed by a group of pokémon streaking by. The trio was being chased by a couple of snakes, malicious intent apparent in their eyes.
Without a second to gather his thoughts, Haruka was already in hot pursuit with Erica follwoing close behind. Thinking it would hurt the group in the end if they split up, Dean decides to follow. "here we go again" he mumbles as he follows the pair of ladies on yet another 'save the cute pokémon' mission...

The group rushes after the hunting pokémon, trying their best to keep the ophidians in sight as they run to try and help the prey. After about a minute running, they're almost out of breath and the pokémon are nowhere around. They stop to try and locate them, but not even a trail is left on the tall grass. When hope starts to fade, however, sounds of a blow followed by a high-pitched hiss comes from nearby, and once more the trio moves. Not more than 20 yards they find what they were looking for. A small cliff rises from the ground, the earth wall blocking the path of the flower creatures as they huddle facing the snakes and looking to their sides for a way out, but the hunters seem to know what they are doing. One of them extends its body to prevent them from running, while the other is coiled and ready to attack, apparently the one hissing the loud sound that caught the group's attention. Pokémon Education or Intuition DC 12The sound is very similar to a mating sound you heard before, but given the situation, you can infer it's more of a calling this time. ActionsI didn't know who Erica and Haruka would be sending out, so I didn't put their tokens on the map. The group has a brief second of advantage, meaning everyone can do ONE action. That means either a standard, shift or swift action for each trainer, to be used by the trainer itself OR their pokémon. It means Dean, for example, could either move himself, move Sentinel or use one of Sentinel's moves. Once that free action is taken, turns start as normal. The pokémon will move as a group at initiative 7, so you have to see if your characters move before or after that. And if you try scanning them, here's the Dex for the snakes and the Dex for the flowery ones.

when the group finally tracks the running Pokémon down, Dean sees the three Pokémon huddled against the cliffs. Fearing they have no way out, he thinks it would be a good idea to distract the large snakes. When one of the Pokémon let's out a loud hiss, he immediately recognizes it as some sort of mating call, probably to alert others of their location. There wasn't a lot of time to act, and without looking at his dex he reckoned the snakes to be of the poison type. This leaves Sentinel once again at a disadvantage over their opponents.
Well, maybe they didn't have to mercilessly beat the snakes at all. it would probably be enough to create a distraction big enough for the flower Pokémon to get away.
"I don't like that call guys, these snakes are calling for help. We have to be on the lookout for more of them coming our way. What do you say we create a diversion so these three can escape? Sentinel, I want you to use leech seed on one of those snakes. let's go!"
The Iguard lets out a low growl and a single seed forms in his mouth. He Spits the seed towards the snake. On impact, the seed sprouts and a mass of small vines coil around the creature, slowly sapping away it's strength.

Haruka led the chase after the creatures, though the speed of the pokemon meant they quickly left her view. She still doggedly continued in the same direction for a while before coming up with... nothing. Had they turned somewhere? Haruka glanced around for any sign of their passage through the area and came up with nothing. Haruka's enthusiasm toward running after them began to drain away, had that been a waste of time? She had no idea where they had gone and- a sudden loud hissing noise interrupted her thoughts. Her eyes lit up again as she hurried toward the source of the noise and found the pokemon. As she took in the situation, she found she agreed with Dean. "... I want to catch one, but I otherwise agree. We should get this finished quickly before any reinforcements show up." She sent out Wata in a flash of red light before pointing her at one of the snake pokemon. "Use Sheer Wave on that one!" she commanded, pointing at the one on the right. Wata moved forward before stomping the ground and sending a wave of earth at the snake creature! Using Sheer Wave on the Superboa in G7

As they catch up, Erica's face is red and out of breath, and such she doesn't look up until the others have chosen to fight the snakes in order to get their attention. "Whoo, ok... I guess if Haruka wants to catch one, and we want the rest to run, then I suppose... we gotta thin the numbers."She sucks in air and stands once again, and stares down the snake. It's head looks suspiciously similar. Something calming to Erica. She can't place it. Something she'll have to figure out later when she catches it! As Wata's attack lands, Erica chucks a lock case-ball. If she can nab it, it'll be only one vs three and the others will have their chance.
