Erica starts going through the pile of items, quickly grabbing a couple of pokéballs before shoving some papers and a plushie to find a vial of a lilac liquid. Meanwhile, her pokémon fights off the alpha, releasing a single shriek that explodes with force, shaking the faintrick's body and trying to keep it away. Haruka, farther from the battle, focus her mind on invoking the protective barrier around her teammates, and just as she builds the defenses, her crocoal advances. Kasai's fire had been building up from the threat before and when he releases the blast, the force of the fumes and embers is almost blinding, forcing the two nearby enemies to recoil. The enemy not hit by the attacks leaps forward, whipping its tail at the crocoal. Kasai is taken aback, but Sentinel moves next to him to provide support, using his claws to strike at the alpha. The faintrick roars as the attack seem to have mostly annoyed it. It then strikes back, lowering its head before throwing itself full-body at the iguard. Sentinel raises his shield and absorbs some of the impact, but the force almost throws him back, staggering it a bit. The other faintrick takes advantage of the situation to attack him as well, its tail hitting the iguard's legs. The faintrick on the tree sound hectics, and cheering for their defenders, they start throwing branches, acorns and fruits at the trainers and their pokémon, which fall all around. EricaErica finds an empty pokéball (Dean's), an occupied pokéball (Erica's Muddlebee) and an Antidote. ActionsPluck hits Alpha with Sonicboom. Kasai hits Alpha and Faintrick 1 with Coal Scatter, flinching both and causing 2 injuries to Faintrick 1.
Faintrick 2 hits Kasai with Pound, dealing 25 damage. Kasai loses 15 HP.
Sentinel hits Alpha with Rough Swipe.
Alpha hits Sentinel with Headbutt, dealing 34 damage. Sentinel loses 23 HP, takes 1 Injury and is Flinched. Faintrick hits Sentinel with Pound, dealing 25 damage. Sentinel loses 14 HP.
Acorns, sticks, and branches fall in C6, C8, and I10. These are now difficult terrain. A fruit falls and explodes in F8.
Remember you have 2 uses of Reflect to absorb some damage from Physical attacks. General Education or Survival DC 8The fruit that exploded was a Sitrus Berry. A pokémon might use a shift action to eat what's left and recover 10 HP.

Seeing Sentinel take two blows in quick succession made Haruka wince, even though the stronger of the two was mitigated somewhat by the shimmering veil of the Reflect she had called down. It... probably would be bad if their most defensive ally went down, so... Haruka focused once again, calling on the power in her core, before putting her protection over the Iguard. Distracted from Kasai's actions, she forgot to give him a command as usual. Though, the Crocoal still seemed to act, as he hunkered down, growling faintly as if building up anger toward his opponents... Using Sage base feat on Sentinel, Kasai's using Revenge.

Erica holds her pokeball close. As much as she wasn't really interested in using the bug when she caught it, she couldn't help but think that it would judge her for letting the ball it was in get stolen. She'll let it out for a proper introduction later. Probably an apology too. She puts it back on her belt, and then grabs a couple more things. On the top of the pile is a brand new pokeball, probably Dean's. And then an Antidote belonging to nobody... but her now. She pockets that and Dean's ball and keeps searching through as the battle rages outside. Meanwhile Pluc joins it's allies in pinning down the Faintrick. She threads over and pecks at the one of the flanking ones. Erica spends her full turn getting 3 more items.

While her trainer is busy with the items, Pluc leaps forward and manages to peck one of the smallest faintrick on its flank, and a bruise appears almost immediately with the force. Erica doesn't see it, though, mesmerize with another pokéball, this one almost completely white but for a thin red line on its center. Seeing the object, she starts pushing junk around, prickling her hand with a set of forks, before finding another vial under a blank notebook, this one green. As she grabs it, something else catches her attention under some candy bar wraps: a pokédex. It's slightly damaged, but Erica thinks she might be able to make it work. Outside her hiding spot, the fight continues. Haruka starts strengthening the barrier around Sentinel to give it a little more resistance, while her pokémon seems to focus on a possible counterattack, waiting for a chance. The Alpha ignores the crocoal, however, its attention on the iguard's shield. It slams both fists on the thick wood, but Haruka's charm work and the attack is weakened. One of the faintricks follow the attack with a quick tackle, but once again the magic barrier protects Sentinel. Little by little, though, he's feeling the hits and doesn't look very good, his stance faltering as he tries defending himself. The remaining faintrick, after being flanked by Pluc, tumbles sideways and hits Kasai, trying to take advantage of the apparent immobility. Its whip strikes through, a small gash surging on the crocoal's body. He growls a mix of pain and anger in return before setting his own attack. EricaErica finds a Premier Ball, a Potion and a damaged Pokédex. ActionsPluc hits Faintrick 2 with Peck, causing 2 injuries.
Alpha hits Sentinel with Pound for 34 damage. Sentinel loses 15 HP after Haruka's Sage and defenses. Faintrick 1 hits Sentinel with Pound for 18 damage. Sentinel loses 1 HP after Haruka's Sage and defenses. Faintrick 2 hits Kasai with Pound for 23 damage. Kasai loses 13 HP and takes 1 injury.
Dean and Sentinel act next, while Kasai needs to use his Revenge before the turn ends (and more things fall from the tree, yay!)

Dean sees his partner take the brunt of the Faintricks attacks and despite Haruka's help and Sentinels natural toughness, the Iguard is beginning to take more damage than he can handle. The Proud Iguard was visibly shaken by the last attack from the alpha Faintrick. Dean knew it was time to recall his Pokémon, as he wouldn't be able to take another hit. "You've done well Sentinel, Return".With his starter returning to his side, he quickly grabbed Hemlocke's pokéball and threw it out on the field. "Ok Girl, we've got this. Let's start things off by hitting that Faintrick in the front with your poison sting, don't engage just yet. Keep your distance".Prikpin, a little less timidly then last time it was called to battle, ruffled her quills and moved a little bit away from her trainer. She then let a wave of razorsharp projectiles fly. Prikpin moves to D8 and fires a poison sting at the faintrick on G8

Dean recalls his iguard to the safety of the pokéball, releasing Hemlocke in his place. The prikpin advances a bit unsure, but nonetheless shoots a volley of quills at the indicated target, the needles penetrating the faintrick's skin. Kasai uses the second of fistraction to charge at the enemy, a mane of flames bursting at his back as he makes contact. The force of the attack throws the faintrick back, instantly knocking it out cold. As the others take notice of the occurrence, the Alpha howls loudly, quickly followed by shrieks from above and more objects are thrown down at the field, including a large fruit that hits Hemlocke, the sticky juices splashing all around her. Meanwhile, another small faintrick falls on his legs, the fur on its back erect in warning as it prepares to join the fray. ActionsHemlocke hits Faintrick 2 with Poison Needle. Kasai hits Faintrick 2 with revenge for Super-Effective Damage! It faints.
Rubble falls on G11, B7, and H11. These squares are now difficult terrain. Another fruit falls on D8, hitting Hemlocke. She gets Slowed for 3 turns and loses 1 HP. A new Faintrick arrives at I6.
It's now the start of a new turn, with Erica, Pluc, Haruka and Kasai going before the enemies.

Erica stuffs those items in her pocket and goes for the last two. The battle is still going, but once she's cleared this out, it's time to get the hellll out of there. Meanwhile Pluc manages to wedge into the group, and blasts everyone! Erica grabs the last two items.

Haruka watched the battle go on, wincing at the quick knock out of Kasai's chosen enemy. She didn't even know he could do something like that! Well, it was good to file away for later but... she needed to focus, Erica was still rummaging around in that tree and needed defending after all. "Kasai, back up then use Coal Scatter on them!" she called out after seeing Erica's gross bird thing dart into the middle of the group. That made a problem since she didn't want to accidentally hit her own teammate's pokemon. And... also another problem was that the bird was in attacking range of all of their enemies. She... didn't really want to but... she had better set up her protection around it since it was the obvious target. So... she did, even if it was a bit begrudgingly. Coal Scatter on big guy and the one in H6 if it's still up. Sage base feat on Pluc

Erica keeps her treasure hunt, pushing more trash as she gets deeper. Passing a bunch of papers, bags, and notebooks, she almost misses a small, thin book with a couple of stains. The title says "Cooking with Scraps by Amanda Sigro", and she quickly notices it's some sort of recipe book for travelers. The second she grabs it, something else catches her attention underneath the book, touching the bottom of the pit. Something much, much more interesting: a disc-shaped device she could recognize as a valuable TM. Outside the hole, though, the battle still raged on. Pluc makes a bold move, throwing herself in the middle of the enemies, saliva foaming in her beak. As soon as she's in range, she releases the bubbles which forcefully explode around the faintrick. The thick spit sticks to their bodies, and one of them doesn't resist the force of the attack, falling unconscious. Kasai uses the distraction Pluc gives to releases another blast of fire at the larger enemy while his trainer focus her attention on protecting the dribbino. The flames envelop the Alpha, but the beast roars and endures the heat. Its newest companions acts quickly, though, beating the bird who caused more damage with a heavy slam, and Pluc seems quite hurt after the blow. She shakes her head to continuously as if trying to clear her mind EricaYou found a "The Joy of Cooking" book and a TM 11 - Sunny Day. ActionsPluc hits Faintrick 1, 3, and the Alpha with Bubble. It deals 2 injuries to Faintrick 3, 1 injury to the Alpha and faints Faintrick 1. Haruka uses Sage on Pluc. Kasai hits the Alpha with Coal Scatter.
Faintrick 3 hits Pluc with Pound, dealing 27 damage. Pluc loses 16 HP after DR and defenses, and takes 2 Injuries.
Because of Pluc's Bubble, the Alpha now moves after Hemlocke, so Dean and Hemlocke can act now. Then it's Boss time before the turn ends.

Dean has a feeling that the battle is slowly turning a bit in their favor. As long as they could take down the Alpha, he was sure that the wimpy faintrick would leave them be. He quickly glances up the tree, seeing if Erica is making her way out yet.
"Did you find our stuff yet? We could sure use your help out here!"
With Hemlocke a couple of meters away fom the main battle, he thinks it might be best to keep pressing with the poison sting. The alpha had taken several attacks so far, but it dind't seem out for the count yet. Hopefully Hemlocke could change that.
"Come on girl, keep those poison stings coming!"
Dean noticed the volume of his speech was turning up, which Always happened when a battle was really intense. He'd missed this feeling so much and decided to relish in it as long as it lasted. A giant smile crept over his face as he sees Hemlocke fire another volley of her deadly projectiles.

Hemlocke does as ordered, releasing another volley of quills at the large enemy, hitting the Alpha at its torso and arms. Nevertheless, the faintrick doesn't give up, growling once more before throwing itself head first at the Kasai, who's the one right in front of it. The powerful attack would be devastating, if not for Haruka's protective charm, the invisible barrier rippling around the crocoal as it gets tossed back. Kasai doesn't look good, but he's still standing for now. Celebrating their leader's hit, the many pokémon on the tree start jumping and cheering, more objects falling down from above. Most of the rubble falls far from the battlers, but one particularly plump fruit is thrown down at Kasai, but a sudden movement from the Alpha makes it hit the enemy leader instead, exploding in a sticky substance that adheres to its fur. The Alpha doesn't even look up, its eyes focused on the trainers and their pokémon. ActionsHemlocke hits the Alpha with Poison Sting.
The Alpha hits Kasai with Headbutt for 39 damage. Kasai would lose 29 HP, but I assume Haruka will spend the last Reflect to prevent it from fainting, which means Kasai loses 14 HP instead and is Flinched.
Rubble falls on G9, C7, and B11. A fruit falls on the Alpha, which becomes Slowed for 2 turns.
Your turn to act.

Haruka let out a cry as Kasai took a blow that almost knocked him unconscious, it was only by the grace of the protection done by the Reflect that he was still standing. Haruka didn't want Kasai to get beaten up that badly on her watch, what would he think of her if she let that happen? She fumbled in her bag for Kasai's pokeball, unaware of the Crocoal mustering a counter attack. Kasai's fur sparked with smoke and flame as he released one last attack on the large creature in front of him, just before Haruka managed to get his pokeball out to recall him. Which she did, in a flash of red light. Her pokemon safe from further injury, Haruka let out a sigh of relief. Though... that meant there were other pokemon in danger, like Dean's Prikpin. She focuses her efforts on the purple creature, forming a ward from harm around it. Coal Scatter on the big guy, Haruka returns Kasai with her Shift then uses Sage on Hemlocke with her Standard

Erica gathers up the tm and the book, and jumps out of the tree, and runs toward the others. She turns and takes stock of the situation. Pluc is not looking good, and Dean and Haruka's starters are out of play. Crap. She turns to the other two. "Alright listen up! I'm going to get our nuke in there. Dean waits to see what Gapic and Crocoal's attack do to the enemy before making a move. The larger Faintrick was done for, that much was clear so that only left them with one opponent. "it's time to take the fight to them Hemlocke, get him with your pursuit".The Prikpin took off at a staggering pace, closing the distance between himself and the faintrick almost instantly before ramming into the normal type. When the enemies are dealt with he looks to his companions and starts backing away, recalling hemlocke in the process. "You're right Erica, we need to get the hell away from here"Prikpin uses pursuit on Faintrick on I6 Dean then recalls her and starts to move away from the scene.

With the combined attacks of Kasai and Gapic, water and fire buffet the larger faintrick, and with a mighty growl the pokémon is finally subdued alonside its last ally. As soon as the big pokémon hits the floor, a creepy silence expands throughout the whole tree, all the faintrick going quiet and immobile. Without too much difficulty, the trainers and their hurt pokémon are able to pull away, leaving the beaten tribe behind as they search a place to rest. But even in the light of the rising moon, the small clearing where they ambushed is still in sight. Each of you get 25 XP to distribute among your pokémon.
I didn't know if you would simply rest and wait for the new day, so I'm leaving it open so you can roleplay how you make a camp and what you do before sleeping.

As soon as the silence takes place, Erica knows they did it. She recalls Gapic and begins taking off.
"Time to leave!"
Erica doesn't look back and runs back to the clearing they decided to camp in the first place, and leans over heaving... wait. No. Is she... laughing? Erica loses her balance and lands butt-first on the grass. But she is clearly laughing. She wipes a tear from her eye as her laughs stop.
"Oh man that was fun. Thanks for holding down the fort, you two. I cleaned them completely out. In fact, I'm feeling very generous."
Erica throws her pack out in front of her, and pulls out the cook book she had found.
"Want a cookbook, Haruka?"
She turns to Dean.
"And what did you lose, just a ball, right? Here, take two."
Erica hands him his lost ball as well as the premiere ball. Her cases always cover the ball anyway so what's she going to do with it? She also takes out the Sunny Day tm and holds it up.
"Also... lookie what I found for everybody. That hole was a treasure trove. You go over the goodies, I got something to take care of."
Erica stands back up and dusts the grass off of her skirt before taking a step off to the side. She's got someone to talk to first, before anything. Her hostage. She takes out the lock case'd ball containing the Faintrick, and re-releases it in front of her. She waits a second for it to realize where it is, before she looks down at it and takes a calm tone.
"Alright you, I'm a woman of my word. You did your job, and you are free to go. I'll break the ball once you leave, ok?"

As Kasai and Gapic's attacks finally managed to down the leader of the group of pokemon, Haruka did a small jump in victory. That would teach them a lesson! Hopefully they wouldn't steal anything from trainers walking past anymore now that they learned that doing things such as that had consequences. Though... the sudden silence after the defeat of the largest Faintrick put her... a bit on edge. She didn't think they would attack, given how cowardly they were, but... "... Let's get out of here before anything else happens..." she muttered to her companions, unwilling to break the silence before hurrying away from the large tree.
The victory was satisfying, but... Kasai still got really hurt during the fight, which she regretted. Haruka hoped he'd be alright later... it looked like that last hit from the leader had done a lot, even through her barrier. That also didn't bode well for their journey ahead. She wasn't sure how ready to fight Wata would be, considering she hadn't even said hello to her yet. Maybe once they had settled down for the night, Haruka could introduce herself to the pokemon. Haruka suddenly realized she was a bit tired, after thinking about making camp. It had been a long walk, punctuated by a lot of wild pokemon getting in the way... it'd be nice to rest for a bit.
As they fled the area, she asked, "Do you think that clearing we first got attacked in will be safe? I don't think there's a better campsite around and it's dark already... I don't think those pokemon will attack us after us defeating their leader but... Maybe we should keep watch or something anyway? I was going to put down a Cleanse Tag, but those won't protect against physical beings." Haruka yawned widely before she remembered something. "Oh! Did you get all the stuff you lost, Erica? I would assume so, since you were in there a while. Was there anything else in there that was- oh my!"
She stopped as Erica dumped a wealth of items in front of them, Haruka's eyes widened, that was... a lot of things. Useful looking things, too. She took the proffered cookbook and flipped through it. "Hmm... yes, I think I can use the recipes in here... Thank you! I think I won't waste as many ingredients with this." She paused for a moment, looking at the disc labeled 'Sunny Day'. What... was this? Hmm... Oh! It was a Tee Emm. Or something like that. It could teach your pokemon moves or something? She tilted it back and forth, squinting at it. She assumed that it would teach pokemon Sunny Day but... she didn't really think her pokemon needed such a move. She put the device back down after a few moments.
She thought about her next words for several moments before speaking, "I um... it was no trouble! There were a few mishaps, but I think we make a good team." Her statement came out as a stammer, which made her redden slightly. Why did she always have trouble saying things like this? She distracted herself from her troubles by taking out her tent and setting it up. It wasn't too hard and after a few minutes she took a step back, inspecting her work. She then promptly took out her calligraphy set and drew out a charm on a piece of paper. The whorls and symbols covering it would ensure that any spirits in the area would be unable to pull their usual tricks... She tagged it to the wall of her tent and nodded, satisfied.

As the Faintrick mulls over everything, Erica looks back to answer Haruka.
"Without the leader I doubt they'll make a move at this point, regardless, I was going to offer to keep first watch. I've never slept outside the city, so I'm probably not sleeping for a while anyway."
She keeps herself turned away as she slightly blushes herself as Haruka seems to appreciate the cookbook.
"Yeah, I cleaned em out and got my Muddlebee back. That's your cut, enjoy."
The Faintrick seems to mull things over before wandering off.
Guess that's my answer.
She turns back around and picks up the Tm for now. If either of them want it, they'll let her know. Haruka seems to mention being a good team, and Erica looks slightly back at her before returning her gaze to the dark forest.
"Uh, yeah I guess..."
She was always one to work by herself, but it was nice for someone to have her back. Even if their ideas were bad.
"I mean I guess I have to the the brains of this operation, considering Dean challenged their honor and you threatened to burn the tree down. Someone has to keep ya'll in line."
As she addresses the group, the Faintrick comes back. Erica tilts her head in confusion until she sees what it has in it's mouth. A strange red shiny stone. Seems like it's worth a pretty penny. It drops it, and nudges it closer to Erica. To please the person who beat it's alpha. Erica blinks a few times.
"Where'd you get that? And is this some sort of peace offering? You want to stay after all that? I guess I shouldn't say no, especially with that, shit."
Erica plops the stone in her bag, where it can be safe, and removes the lock-case off of it's pokeball.
"Stick around for a minute... Kras. We'll call you Kras. Stick around and relax for a bit. Sorry for locking you in there for so long."
She takes a moment to let Pluc out and thank her for fighting so long, and that she deserves a rest. Good job, Pluc. She's doing well as Erica's apprentice. She then moves to her reclaimed ball. She releases the Muddlebee, and looks sorta guilty.
"Ok look, cards on the table. Your ball got stolen, and I almost lost it trying to get you back. And I didn't even name your or say hi after I captured you. So uh... sorry I guess. So let's start over, alright? I'm Erica, and I think for you... Skre? Does that work for you?"
The Muddlebee thinks for a moment before digging in the ground a bit, and making a smiley face.
Oh we got an artist one here. Oh boy.
"Alright, stick around and make small talk with Kras over there. She's your new teammate. I got a tent to set up."
Erica sighs and begins making her tent.

With the battle done and the team ending up victorious over those pesky thieves, Dean was feeling pretty happy with himself. Sentinelhad taken quite a beating as did some of the other pokémon on their team, but in the end they had come through. He was especially pleased with Hemlockes performance and he's already thinking on what he can do to make her an even more effective battler in the future. Hmm, porcupines are normally able to roll themselves up and stuff, so maybe rollout could be an option at some point. He's snapped back to the present when they reach the place where they were initially trying to make camp. When Erica gives him his empty pokéball back plus a nice looking premier ball, his spirits are lifted even more then they already were. The fact that they'd done the exact same thing they had punished the Faintrick for was only nagging at the back of his mind ever so slightly. He wasn't going to bring it up, too happy with how the battle had gone. "Thanks Erica, this might sure come in handy. And that TM is a great find indeed"When they started to setup camp, Dean had pitched his tent in no time and he starts gathering some dry timber to start making a fire. When he hears Haruka say they make a good team, he nods in agreement. He looks up from his work as he speaks to the group. "We sure do, so far I'm really thankfull for having you ladies around. By the way, I don't think any of our ideas were that bad actually, even if they ended up not working."He tries his best to find enough stuff for the fire, but the dying light makes it a particularly hard tasl to achieve. A sudden flash of inspiration strikes him as he grabs the pokéball of his newly captured bug pokémon. Releasing the creature in their midst, they are immediately greeted by a nice bright light coming from the tip of her tail. "That's a lot better, don't you guys think?" He crouces down and takes a good look at his new addition before getting lost in thought for a minute. He finishes up gathering some more firewood before he takes the cresclo in his arms, stroking it gently. "I think I'm going to call you Beacon, how does that sound?"The little bug squirms in his grip, but only to nestle itself more comfortably in her trainer's arms. She gives a small chirp, indicating she likes the name. Dean sets her down for a moment, looking around the camp to see what the others are doing. Haruka seems to be writing something on a piece of paper, but he didn't want to pry into that whole witchcraft thing she had going. So far, her abilities had proven immensely helpful in their battles, so he was not going to be too much of a little bitch about it. Erica was talking to her Muddlebee and her Faintrick, who was holding something shiny in it's paw. Those two deserved each other, Dean thought chuckling to himself. He decides to take all of his pokéballs and release his team, hoping the three could get to know each other a little bit before they turned in for bed. When the boy from Lavaridge sees his starter, he winces at how beat up it looked. "That was quite a first day on the road huh guys. Especially for you Sentinel, so much battling. You did amazing though and I'm going to make sure you'll be all healed up as soon as possible"He rummages through his pack, looking for one of the potions. Gesturing for his Iguard to come closer he carefully starts to spray the pokémon with the soothing liquid, some of his wounds knitting itself together almost instantly. He then introduces his pokémon to eachother before letting them play for a couple of minutes. Dean takes out his pokédex, flipping through the entries for his pokémon. He's happy to learn that he was right about the rollout capabilities of his Prikpin, but is even more interest in some of the other moves it can learn in the future. Cresclo was also a pokémon that had peaked his interest. She might not learn too much right now, but he was sure that the bug would be a rapid evolver. After a while he pockets the device and recalls his team, telling them it's time for bed. When Erica offers to take first watch, Dean is easy to agree, as he could sure use some rest. "sure thing. Wake me up in a couple of hours, then I'll take second shift"Hemlocke earns 20 exp, leveling her up to 8 and she learns defense curl. Sentinel earns 5 (6) exp, and uses a potion to regain 20 HP Cresclo doesn't earn XP right now I've already given Dean his edge he'll gain once muddlebee evolves, (train the reserves).
