"Devereaux, sir. If you can hold the doorway, I'll get in do some damage and get out. If any of you see something that seems out of reach that will help out, let me know. I might be able to get there."
Rafe looked back at Felix, "don't forget the crossbow this time, yeah?" Rafe gave a reassuring grin.
Rafe slid his shield from his back onto his arm and leaned low on Hasili. He prepared to charge through the doorway.
As the door opened, Rafe burst in on Hasili's back instantly charging in a ball of fire at the nearest Zangoose. After a solid hit, Rafe psyched himself up and raised his awareness and rode back to safety. Or so he thought. The zangoose harried their retreat, causing major damage to Hasili.
"Dammit, that did not go as planned. My usual tactics aren't gonna work here, guys," Rafe said as he started to freak out.
Searching the room you find little of interest. A nest lies in the corner of the room from the Zangoose. Nothing remains of interest besides the torn scarps of clothing from previous adventurers. Continuing on into the main chamber, the furthest west wall radiates heat and the burning smell is intense. Touching the stone is warm to the touch. Searching the room reveals no traps, or hidden doors. All that remains is the paths not taken. The forward, the right, and the upper left.
Noe nearly lost his composure in his previous bout. Luckily, he was a true gentleman, and only cried for about 6 uninterrupted minutes in the corner before proceeding on to observe the rest of the now vacant hall. This heat was interesting to him. Admittedly something this warm in the dungeon likely meant that there was some sort of horrifying creature there, but things not ventured and all that. His intrigue could not be sated.
"If it's all right with the rest of you, I'd like to figure out what's causing all this burning in this hall. I believe the best way to find it is through the front. Any other thoughts?"
Isabella began adjusting her dress, making sure everything was fine from her little sprint down the hall. After finding everything to be satisfactory, She retrieved her newly acquired monsters. She would need to introduce herself to them later, for now, she would stick with Morrigan until necessary. It took her a moment to realize that Noe had just posed question, but she had no real preference for what direction they took.
"I do believe that would be fine, I imagine it would be some flame creature, but perhaps it is something else?"
Darius grunted in response to Noes' question, returning Bayeux to the device that contained him. His lack of impact in the battle had left his mood slightly soured - well, more so than it usually was. He also sheathed his sword, displeased by the absence of any blood on the blade."Fire sounds like a great plan," he said, and though the words sounded cutting, he spoke them seriously.
With the sheathing of swords and pinging of pokeballs, Rafe figured it was safe to peek around his corner. After felling a few of the beasts, he knocked unconscious. He woke to Raimundo standing over him and bit marks on his leg. He jumped on Hasili and got as far away from the action as possible. Now he is going to have to stumble over to the others, who had managed to get through the encounter without much damage.
"Hey, thanks for the assist back there," he said to the elf. "I don't like to think about what would happen if you weren't there watching my back." Rafe's leg twitched at the though of loss. "Do you think you can pop open that first aid kit and help me out?" He addressed the rest of the group, "I know you are all eager to move on, but I'm going to be honest. I don't think I can go on without medical attention for both Hasili and myself. We would only be liabilities in our current state."
Raimundo was perfectly fine after the fight, but his poor Visenya...? Yeah, looking the second worst out of all the pokemon. He quickly made his way over to her and treated her quickly. Once that was done and he put Visenya back in her pokeball, he looked over at Rafe when he had spoken up.
"Let's see what I can do for you. Please wait for a bit while I treat the two of them, alright?" With that, Raimundo went to work. If he didn't do enough, then he was certainly going to use a potion patch on each of these fellows.... which he ended up doing on at least Rafe.
With nothing but camp and rest to be had the group settled for a short rest. The elven healer set to work with his craft while the Darius began planning the next assault. All was brought together by a melodic sound from the lovely Isabella. After succeeding in enough recovery the party moved back to the split. What laid ahead was the left, right, and forward paths. Noe speaking up about wanting to investigate the smell of burning, it would seem that the left path was what he wanted. None seemed to be opposed. So down they went.
While Raimundo saw to his various injuries, Rafe pulled out the tome is god gave him and started recording everything that happened. He mapped our the different rooms that they had entered and the locations where they encountered the monsters. Since the group had caught at least one of each species, he was able to give fairly accurate additional data on the monsters. He took a deeper dive into the Zangoose entry and looked at how his new 'mon was going to grow.
"Thanks for patching me up," Rafe said as Raimundo helped him up, "Maybe this time we shouldn't put Hasili and Visenya on the front lines. Here's some scrap that was given to me by my familia before I left. I don't have much use for it, but you might be able to use it for medical supplies?" Rafe hands over $234 worth of scrap. I can barely afford to make that mistake again.
Rafe rejoins the rest of the group. "Fire sounds like a good idea to me." As they walked along, Rafe had Hasili brighten up the walls with her flames as they walked to better see in the dim light.
The group continues on the left path and come across a door on their right. The lot of you are able to ascertain that while the door is not booby trapped it is locked and will need to be opened. The resounding sounds of footsteps can be heard from coming up the chambers above. Combat is surely to ensue if you continue further. Bracing yourselves you are left with option of opening this door and figuring out what dangers, or treasures lie in wait, or simply advancing forward and dealing with the obvious threat.
Upon seeing a door, Raimundo went on forward to try and unlock the door first, with scraps of metal in hand -courtesy of some scraps offered by Rafe earlier- to try and open the door with a little help. If he succeeded he would immediately try to peek in and take a gander at what's inside while listening in, and if he failed then he would wait for someone to open the door and THEN try to take a gander and listen in.
After all, it wasn't just medic he was playing the role of in here.
The door takes a bit to jimmy open, but with a skillful twitch of your hand you're able to send the door agate. The room is open except for a large chest sitting against the back wall. As the parties eyes widen with the idea of this perfectly ornate treasure chest, Raimundo is quick to stop anyone from entering the room. The floor shimmers a bit and with with his special Elf eyes Raimundo can see the small outlying floor panels. He can quickly deduce that its a pit trap where certain death is sure to await all who fall into this hole.
"One of you boys cross the pit," Darius ordered, well aware of their being better suited than him to such pursuits of agility. "No reason for us all to risk it." He then proceeded to walk slightly down the corridor toward the sound of footsteps. Planting his feet in a combat stance, he drew his sword, the sound of the metal sliding from the sheath reverberating in the immediate area, and readied his shield. "I'll guard our flank, should those things down there decide to pay us the pleasure of their company."
Noe smirks upon seeing the chest off in the distance. Perhaps a pretty prize for his dear Diancie lies before him? It would certainly be worth investigating, regardless of how many pit traps lay before him.
"I'd be happy to take the lead on this one dear Darius. No need to do anything to dangerous when your beloved is so close by~"
Noe makes sure to take his time traversing the room, gently touching each plate with a toe before putting any weight on it so he may find a safe path to the treasure
The plates arent easily discerned by Noe, but that matters little when you never touch the floor. Noe with the skills of a flying Grayson hops to a wall and before his foot can plant somersaults on top of the chest. He gives a toothy grin, but realizes the bad boy is locked as well.
The footsteps are indeed closing in and the faces begin to illuminate upon Darius. Its a larger canine than before, its muzzle dripping with saliva. Its eyes a fierce red, as it begins to growl at the stalwart steel clad warrior. The beast lets out a mighty howl, that causes the sound of further feet to resound throughout the tiny chamber.
Noe seems to be struggling with the chest mechanism, and as he fiddles with it the dogs come into view and begin to charge Darius. As Darius had readied he shield he may act first as the beast comes flying in towards him.
Darius wastes no time in this combat. Already prepared for the fight, he lashes out at the hound the instant it comes into range. He has not bothered to summon Bayeux this time around, as he is now well aware that the Ghost-type monster is ineffective against these foes, and could only really get in the way. It was time for some good old fashioned sword play, something he hadn't truly experienced since he was a youth. A cruel smile graces his face.
Instincts last a long time. Darius has clearly drawn the beast's attention with his attack, and in a fluid motion, he raises his shield to block the counter strike he knows is coming.
To hit with wounding strike (AC = 2): IKmYYbhV1d20 Damage: 2d6+13 + 1 tick of HP Darius marks the Herdier. It now has a -3 to attacks against anyone other than him. Darius spends 1 AP to ready his shield, gaining 4 evasion, for a total of 6. And to put it here because I forgot in the last post, he has Stalwart Bastion bound. Initiative: 5

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
