Edgar quickly guides his employer to a bench, or at least the nearest equivalent, not seeming to be bothered by the fact that the man was practically forcing him to support his entire weight. "Just rest, you've got most of the gate to look at later, and you've got inter-dimensional clanks to study the pieces of. Plenty of time to do it in." Once he's got the man seated, he turns to look at Lennart. "Given that their entire focus was to shut the gate down, not likely I'd imagine. Though the locals may decide this is the last straw, if their resident Spark is so weak and causing such trouble that he's opening holes in space/time."

From the doorway to the laboratory a loud thump and clatter can be heard. When you turn your head you see that the aged Butler Fritz is now standing at the door with his wife Tansey holding onto his arm. It appears he dropped the load of groceries that he had been carrying.
"Thank the Masters that you're all alright. When the tears disappeared I thought that thing might have gotten dumped right into the lab."
The old man hobbles over to where the fallen Klien is laying and checks to see if he's alright. Visibly calming down he stands up turns toward the group.
"I don't know what we can do for you all but we're mighty grateful. Perhaps you'd like to join us for dinner? I purchased enough for all of us."

Skit, beginning to calm down after the ordeal and not wanting to show his annoyance to the other staff, immediately switches to "we have guests" mode. Ah yes, thank you Fritz! Let me 'elp put those things away and get the cookin' started." Skit moves to pick up the things Fritz dropped and starts out the door before giving anyone a chance to turn down the offer.

"Um, well..." Sylvia starts to protest, but then glances at the fallen Spark, and remembers that she'll have to wait to ask him about Rothkind. "I... suppose I could stay for dinner," she says, "That's very kind of you."

"How quaint, if everyone else accepts I see no reason not to as well" Angela pushed up her glasses, again. She really needs to resize them, apparently. Angela looks at the rest of the group, analyzing their reactions, she had already seen Sylvia's, but Parish's hasn't been stated yet, if she had to choose between the two...it would probably be Sylvia at this point, just because she seems more malleable than Parish...if less useful

Parish seemed to be lost in his own head as he took to bandaging himself, between the blow to the head and the series of revelations today, everything was spinning. Soft murmurs of assent were coming from the other figures standing about, and he happened to catch some mention of food. Had he eaten today? Who even had the time?! Elbows on his knees, he contemplated his hands briefly, which shook lightly when suspended as they were. "Edgar have I eaten today? There's no time for a dinner affair, but if I must."

"Oh, thank you. I'll gladly accept some food, havn't been able to sit down for a good meal in a while." The hectic traveling mandated by his on the run lifestyle didn't leave him much time to enjoy a proper meal. He may as well take one while he can get it, he had some time to spare anyway, since he wasn't gonna be able to leave till tomorrow anyway. Then again, who's to say his caravan hadn't skipped town already during the fiasco? Wouldn't be too bad to fraternize with some of the people here in case he needs to hitchhike for his further travels.

Fritz jumped as Skit shuffled out the door, hurriedly following him to the kitchen. From the door, Tansey watches as they go before turning back to the group. Giving the group an arthritic curtsey she gave the group a smile. "Well dearies, it will be a little while before that's done but for now let's wait in the dining room, shall we?"With that, she hobbled out of the door. Heading down the stairs and to the left to the dining room with the door hanging precariously on its hinges. While the house itself is obviously falling apart it's pretty clear that they do their best to maintain it, hardly a speck of dust can be seen on any of the furniture. The cabinets on the far wall have their cracked glass facings polished to a mirror shine and the table is covered with a threadbare tablecloth that while immaculate is obviously a tad threadbare. As you all wait for the food to be finished she busies herself with setting the table. She then disappears through a door into the kitchen to see how she can help. After a short wait both Tansey and Fritz begin carrying dishes out of the kitchen. Begining with a dish piled high with Rouladen and a heaping bowl of Kasespatzle along with an assortment of steamed vegetables. Once everything is on the table the pair leave and retrieve a still groggy looking Klien. Making sure everyone is sat down they begin the meal.

Looking at all the food, Sylvia realizes how hungry she is. She'd not eaten since breakfast, and even then... it's all been mostly travel food for the last little while. It's been some time since she's last had actual homemade, good food, so she takes a fair amount and digs right in.
She doesn't really want to either stop eating or talk too much at the moment, but she does take a moment to breathe, and address a few things. "Thank you for this," she says to those who'd made it, "It's delicious. Been a while since I've had food that's been more than passable..." With that out of the way, she turns to the Spark of the house. "So, uh, Mister Klien... I was told that you were the one to ask about Margarethe Rothkind. Do you know anything about here, or where she might be?"

Klien is obviously a bit worse for wear, it seems waking up on a stone floor after fainting isn't really the most pleasant experience. The main visibly flinches at Sylvia's question. It's quite obvious he's not used to talking with many people as he nervously replies.
"I-I haven't met her personally but my parents were in contact with a woman by that name. Apparently, they helped with some sort of research on reality fluctuations. At least I think that's the term she used Th-There are a few letters upstairs if you w-want to take a look. I think they mention the city of Panne which is a bit east of here. I haven't been in c-correspondence with her m-myself though so I don't know how accurate that is."

Sylvia's stomach lurches a bit at talk of 'dimensional fluctuations'. If it means more of what had happened here, then... suddenly she isn't quite as hungry.
She really doesn't want to think about it, though. Not now. It's still probably her best shot at getting rid of her problem, however. "The location should hopefully be enough," she says, "But if you wouldn't mind me looking, I might be able to find out quite what I'm getting myself into... I don't want to pry into personal matters, though."

At Sylvia's compliment you could almost notice a Skit blushing. Then shifting to completely not subtle sarcasm "Why thank you, Sylvia. 'Bout time someone noticed what I 'bring to the table' so to speak." He almost seems to glare at Klein for a moment, but returns to eating the food he'd prepared.

Angela had eyed the food with curiosity til she had recognized the dish. If nothing else she liked trying new things, but humans had the ideas for food spread to certain circles. Some were larger, and other smaller, but in the end she had ended up in most circles of food by this point. She silently takes her seat, eating what was given to her.
When Sylvia asks a question and receives a response that insinuates the person she was looking for was a correspondent on reality fluctuations, Angela had to admit that her curiosity was peaked. "So, why ever are you looking for this Margarethe Rothkind?"

Sylvia hesitates at the other woman's question. It's not something she really wants to talk about, but... well, they've no doubt seen her issue already. "To put a long story short," she eventually ventures, cautiously, "I... was involved in an experiment. Things went wrong. You've probably seen some of the side effects while those Clanks were trying to tear everything apart. I don't want them, and, well... people kept pointing me towards her as the best one to be able to fix me. I want them gone. Or... worst case, some way to control them. Because I'm a menace right now." She looks around to gauge reactions to that. "Strong emotions bring out things I can't control. A lot of which are bad." She keeps looking around, tensing up, and getting ready to bolt out in case the others all decided she was too dangerous to have around.

Edgar checked his watch, noting the time on it, and then nodded to his employer. "It is about time for you to eat again, sir." He was looking forward to having a meal that wasn't one he had to cook. While he was... adequate, his culinary talents were very basic.
The food that the group had served to them was filling and robust, well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. He ate in silence, listening to the Sparks. Once the girl, Sylvia speaks up, he can't help but chip in his own two cents. "You're hardly the most dangerous person in the room miss. We're in the company of Sparks after all, and at least a couple of them seem to be quite potent," he eyes his employer before taking another bite of food. Swallowing and then wiping his mouth, he continues. "It sounds like you may be in need of some traveling companions. People to help you feel safe, and assist you should things go awry." Hopefully Parish would pick up the hint. If nothing else traveling with others, especially Sparks, would help mask Parish's own experiments, and perhaps draw out who or what had attacked Edgar to try and finish the job.

"Rolled beef that houses... vegetables?" Parish was in the process of dissecting his food instead of eating it up until the point he briefly made eye contact with with Edgar. His expression briefly shifted towards 'Oh, fine.' at which point he started to pick up on the general gist of the conversation. "Your spacial dysphoria would lend itself particularly well to my research. This 'Nexus' business has certainly whet my appetite, shame they had clanks waiting on the other side to shut down the gate."

"If you're taking companions" Angela piped in, slowly placing the silverware down as she did. "I wouldn't mind joining as well...I have a tendency to get lost, it doesn't help that I don't exactly know where here is, at least in conjunction with the surrounding areas" At this point Angela would reach over her shoulder and grab Rem before he floated off to cause havoc. They don't need a confused balloon roaming the meal table anyways.
"This is, of course, if you're actually wanting them. Regardless to that, this Margarethe sounds like a interesting woman. I would like to meet her, at the very least" She then tied Rem's appendages in a simple knot, attaching him to her chair so she could resume eating herself.

This... is not at all the response that she had been expecting. "Well, uh," she gets out at last, "I... can't really stop you, I suppose, if you want to come with me. It might be nice to have other people around, I guess."

Glancing over in the general direction of the stairs, Skit speaks up. "I can take you up to where the letters are stored if you'd like." Then to Klein, who seemingly missed the glare Skit had been giving him. "And Klein. I'd like a word or two, privately." As he finishes his meal, he starts to gather plates and makes his way to the kitchen to get a start on the dishes.

Lennart sat down and began to enjoy his meal, he ate at a leisure pace as he had a lot to think about since he originally set foot in the town. He had no idea what his next move would be, his caravan could be anywhere right now. Lennart felt the need to keep moving, as his unknown pursuers could be anywhere. If he got stuck here for too long they could might end up finding him. Though, if he decided to follow these new fellows who knows what other disasters he will encounter with them. Those disasters would make some interesting tales for Glifford when he caught him again, which was a plus.
"Thank you, the food was great." Lennart said to skit as his plate was whisked away. Welp, no there was no point in living cowardly, he did originally begin this journey to broaden his experiences anyway. Also, if he followed this crew he could get another look at some more otherworldly mon, like the one they saw today. "Count me in as well. I need something to do and what you guys are talking about sounds like an adventure, so I'd be glad to come."
