Izzy doesn't comment one way or the other on the choice of which water source to check first, though she does give Keno a double-take at his last comment. "'Squirrels'?" she asks.
When the group starts moving, she hangs at the back, her expression distant and somewhat troubled as she tries to remember any mythology she might have every learned about this "Great Mystery" business.

Isabella, it doesn't take much for you to recall that the Great Mystery is the sun. Some mistranslated stories also call him the "Great Spirit". He is commonly worshipped by the indigenous Tribes of the region and is said to own every rock, tree, and animal in the world. He gives warmth and grows food.

(OOC: auto correct changed squirtles to squirrels)
"Squirtles. You said there were some in the next room."
Keno has no problem leading the way to the tunnel with the Squirtle, which the rope had once pointed to. As he walked, he kept his eyes on his steps and the walls for more glyphs on the walls.

Keno, you find that the walls are bare and heavily worn from water erosion. You don't see any more glyphs in this room. The squirtles were just the same way that Isabella left them, asleep in the mud and clay. In the clear water under the flashlight, a white figure moves slowly with large pinchers and long feelers.

Izzy nods, "There were when I was there." She shakes her head slightly, she must have just misheard him earlier.
She gives the trio of Water Types a small smile as she notices them sleeping, though if she spots the white figure under the water she locks her gaze on it, watching to see if it nears the sleeping Pokémon.

In an excited whisper, "I think that's a Cave Corphish, they are extreamly rare! I read about them in the professor's lab. I wish I had some pokeballs." He laments seeing it here and now befor he gained his licence.

Isabella, it was hard for you to not see it. The Pokemon was very strange with a pale white shell and no eyes. This creature was certainly familiar from the exhibits in the visitor center. It didn't seem to be going towards the squirtles, instead it seemed to be feeling around its aquatic home.

Isabella frowns as she glances over at Keno, "Wouldn't that have the same issue we'd discussed about the Squirtle? This area is Protected, isn't it?"

"I don't think that's in the nature of the trial, might not work out so well for us. We should probably talk to the professor before we try to catch anything, maybe after we're licensed he would let us come back with some Pokeballs. On top of all that we don't have Pokemon to defend ourselves, and we were advised against stirring up trouble with the locals."
Despite all this Keno really did want one of those white Corphish. It was interesting how life in the caves had made it practically albino. The idea that Pokemon could evolve within their own species to be different, sparked intrigue, and Keno wanted to know more.

Fallowing the group into the section with the lake, Jason is amazed by how large the underground cavern is. To think it contained a lake and a water fall? Just how big was the rest of the world that Jason couldn't see? Being careful and quiet not to disturb the sleeping blue turtles, he kneels down to get a better look at them and pulls his stone from his pocket. Curious if these creatures where who they needed to connect with. But, without a reaction, Jason stands back up, returns his stone and looks around the lake shore.
"How deep do you think it goes?" he asks to no one in particular.
(OOC: Sorry if I missed it earlier, but how wide is the lake? Can we see the other side of it?)
Perception Roll for anything of interest around the shore. Tracks, more ghost/memories, crystals.

Watching Jason bend down towards the water, and stare out at it, "You thinking of going for a swim?"

Isabella's jaw drops at the suggestion that someone might toss a Pester Ball so assist a non-Trainer to capture a Pokémon.
"Are you trying to get us all disqualified, if not down-right imprisoned!?" she hisses, clearly trying to voice her displeasure but only managing to appear alarmed and flustered at the very notion. "We are not Trainers yet! We are currently in the middle of our Trial. And to top it all off, this area is protected!"
Balling her hands into fists at either side of her, she spares a glance towards the Squirtles, hoping she didn't disturb them with her conversational-level outburst. "If any of you try that, I am going to leave this Trial and report you to the Authorities. I can only hope the Professor would allow me to restart the Trial, if it comes to that."

John grins at Izzy, "You know you want one of those cute Squirtles." Then realizing what he said he hunched his shoulders. "But you are right, lets move on."

"I don't want any Pokémon so badly that I'd become a Poacher," Isabella counters with gritted teeth before turning away from the boys to check along the right-hand wall of the cavern, stopping about ten feet from the waterline, or sooner, if the Pokémon seem disturbed by her proximity.

"OK, so no catching until we're trainers, and no catching here without professorial permission."
Trying to break the tension and move forward, "So it's a pool with water, the pokemon are nice," and he wanted the Corphish, but had no rihgt or ablity to get it, "so now what?"
Keno searched for anything of interest and perhaps a way around the water without taking a dip, He tested the water with his hand to gague the temperature, if it was comfortable for Squirtle to sleep in, he wanted to know what he was in for should it come to swimming.

Jason, you see that the lake is pretty small, only a few hundred feet wide. At the north wall, there is an indication that it extends even further, beyond what is visible, since you can see it go deeper under the rocks. You can see the other side easily, thanks to the shaft of sunlight coming down on the mentioned raised area. Moving your flashlight around, you can see through the water and into the depths, which go so deep, it looks like you might fall in, if you leaned too far forward.
Isabella, normally your intimidate will have to beat John's focus roll in order for it to work. If he rolled a 1 or 2, he would have been intimidated. However, it seems he has chosen to follow your advise of not doing pokemon poaching. While this is going on, you have never heard of people, catching during a trial, but they have tried. They say something odd happens to pokeballs, when this is attempted. As you move by the shore, you don't seem to be disturbing the pokemon in any way yet. They ignore you, like you weren't there.
Keno, you test the water with your hand and it is very cold. Not as cold as the air outside, but certainly uncomfortable to swim in. It's curious that these cold-blooded creatures are fine with it.
