Bot have you picked your 2nd Research field yet? I would recommend General Researcher for it, or pokemon caretaking. You could also take a 2nd Research Class for a total of 4 fields. With General Ed you can get a feature that allows you to use a secondary point pull for binding books so you don't tie up all your AP in books. There are at least 3 books you will be interested in. "How Berries??" , "Caretaker's Manual" , "A field guide to Fungus" and "The Joy of Cooking" all jump out as good for your character. That is ALOT of AP for them, at least 4 for the novice ranks in each. Though the Fungus one may be less useful for you. Look into the playtest general ed field when you can. For what you are building: Mentor / Researcher (Botony / General Ed) / Researcher (Pokemon Caretaking /??) would be real strong Ooo lot of good info. I'll have to take a look at it. My "build" is really random right now. I just took things for planting and growing. I wanted it to stay fairly open just in case I could be a merger. I had didn't know that it was a 1.04 thing though. Part of me wants to try to fix it for 1.05, but that's a lot of work and I'm still too new. I don't trust myself fixing it solo. Now I did "pick" a second specialization. It's the medicine one. I just didn't have the medicine skill yet to take it. All I really wanted from it was patch cure. I don't think I'll go with it though if this general education one is as good as it sounds. I may need these books. The only thing I think I want to do is build into channeler. That 4th is pretty much open. If merger is out, I may just do researcher to pick back up the medic one. That's pretty far out though so we have a lot of time before then.

eh. he really hasnt started the game yet and im nit totally sure he avtually picked a second He's got it in his notes on the Features Tab of his sheet. Though, botduo, I'd put a note or comment on the front page on the Researcher Cell so that it's easier to check what your Fields are. It's quick book keeping for teammates or GMs who are just trying to refamiliarize themselves with your character when they need to.

Sorry, still trying to figure out the best ways to do this. I want to run a game but as you can plainly see, I can't even keep tabs on my own characters. Just gotta get used to the system is all.

Hey, just wondering, about how far away are the mon from each other? They are roughly 5 meters from each other in the center of the arena.

Okay, on Lav's advise, I swapped out Apothecary for Pokemon Care taking. I like the idea behind patch cure to save money, but I also like just having the natural side of healing over the modern side. Makes it more a challenge. Besides, why waste features on basically the same thing?
I looked over the skill books and the one thing that bothers me is that I would have to basically change my skills from survival to general education to make use of them. Since we will be traveling more, I think I like the survival idea a little better. It also covers more stuff I might use over just general knowledge. Don't get me wrong, the berry book looks pretty good, but I plan to harvest a bunch over time. That once a day for just one extra berry doesn't seem worth $1000 right now. Maybe a little later on.
I do have a couple more questions though after reading through those. the first is about Egg Moves. Am I reading it right that you only start getting inheritance moves at 20? Well in the playtest now 10 if they are at-will and under DB7 or something? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of egg moves? I'm pretty sure in PTA you can at least start with one. Seems a little silly.
Then the second one, they changed the capture mechanics to a 1d20 with modifiers. Are we adapting that one or sticking with the 1d100 rule? I don't care which, I am just curious is all.
Lastly, What Pokedexs are we going to use? There's that new 1.05+ with the new February update. I already looked and Turtwig doesn't change right now, but does have different advanced abilities later on. There's also 2 different aloha dexs out. It looks like Dark's is more up to date with abilities and such so I have been reading that one.
Again, just a newer player trying to get everything situated. I hope I'm not too annoying with all the questions. I just want to be all caught up is all.

Well, if anyone other than laverance wants to interact IC right now, Oliver is currently to the east of the match.

We're still using the d100 rule. The pokedex we will use is the 1.05+ and the Alola dex.

Sounds good. Thanks for the clarification.
Barry is going to "forgo" posting until the battle ends seeing that he's just watching. I don't want to clutter the battle. Now if something odd happens (I don't trust that one of those Teams won't try to interfere) he'll be ready to act.

Oh, huh. Blitzen gets a new basic ability then. Seasonal. Good thing he hasn't shown up yet.
It's still technically Autumn for the ability right?

New initiative order should be To Declare Russel 6 (9-4CS for Stuck) Arach 7 John 10 Ralph 13
reverse to act.
Aslo DOC can you delete my last in character post, i did the math all sort of WRONG and was out of turn because i forgot the -4 to speed CS from Stuck

Ouch. Poor Bagon. Got knocked down to 5 Speed then lost combat stages. Zero speed evasion.
Of course one more hit and Arach is basically down.
