This is the list of items I meant. However, since you are not starting with the trial in your background, the pester balls are replaced with pokeballs. You also start with a smart phone that has a pokedex and town map as apps and 5k to spend on other supplies. That's interesting! As a player I'd like in on the fight, but the way it's going, being roped off, and the pokemon called out already, Keno's not interrupting the battle. That would be rude and he would hate for that to happen to him, unless he were challenged to a different fight or asked to join, this fight is not his. Of course, if there Burton kid were to start cheating some how, he'd be in for a startling change of pace. |

Are we newbies okay to start posting in Episode 2 as part of the crowd? And when you get the chance, what starting items do we get? If possible I'd like some Food Scrap to craft a Snack or two. Either way I intend to forage for more in game as opportunities presents themselves (which is why I took a Skill Stunt for it!). Also, I would recommend editing links to everyone's sheets into the first post of this thread, or perhaps making a separate Cast thread or something. It really makes it easier to keep track of everyone and reference things! You may post as part of the crowd, if you wish. You may also jump into the battle before the Mayor announces the rules, if you want to make it a 3 or more-way battle. Doc, if it's easier, just open a thread group for the cast and we can keep it updated. I mean, we already need to keep the information up to date as is. It's just a simple copy paste from there. If you want, we can have a format or something to make your life (and ours if we need to keep quick referencing) easier. I mean, Lav already has his in his signature which is good thinking but yeah don't put everything on yourself. If we can help, I'll gladly do what I can. |

Indeed, that's what I intended for the Cast thread idea - each of us making and updating our own posts in it with links to our character sheets and summaries of our current Pokemon party. Nothing as elaborate or detailed as the sheets themselves, just something simple for quick reference.
Tori's inventory is complete, and I've also elaborated on her Wishlist a bit. I'll get a post in sometime before work tonight!

By the way, Barry is only going to enter the battle of someone runs into him and forces him in to join it. Otherwise he will sit the battle out as it's already basically started.

That mon you're facing almost sounds like a Totadile, if not for the helmet-like crest. That part seems a bit odd. Though that line does get crests eventually, I don't think they look like what I think of as helmets.

I pegged it as a Bagon myself. I could be wrong but the description made me think of it. Looks close.
But then again, I don't like to meta in game. Take the fun away from it a bit. Sure we've grown up with the games all of our lives but the characters aren't that lucky. I am going to be fairly "dumb" if its not a farm animal or some kind of farm pest.
By the way, Barry should be all updated. I'll make a post soon.

Couple quick questions so I can tie up loose ends on Barry (well more Sitri. I think Barry is done.)
1) Can Sitri be tutored from the get go or should I RP that? If we get bumped into the fight by someone, I just realized how utterly screwed I really am right now. I forgot how shallow Turtwig's move pool was early. Going to use one on Absorb at least and maybe Razor Leaf to bulk up on offense.
2) Oh right, there was one for Barry. Can I have planted the Sitris berry already? I know in this format that days are weird and it still looks like the first day (I think?) but I want to get something growing at least to harvest ASAP.
3) Is it alright if I give Sitri the Sitris berry to hold onto now but not eat? I am not 100% sure I am following the digestion rules in this format. Do I have to make her eat it now and trade in the digestion buff when I need it or does she eat it when she needs it?
Think that's it for questions. I leave it up to you guys if you want to bump Barry in or not. I'm good either way. It's just an excuse to get your characters into the battle also if you want. I'll roll with whatever.
(Just also realized how utterly useless Seed Bag is right now. I forgot all about Turtwig not having any of the powders. I must have been thinking Bulbasaur when I drew this up the first time. I'm leaving it because I do want it and it makes sense but I am going to have to find a Caterpie for Butterfree or something like a Paras quickly if I want it to be of any help.)

If we want to assume your pokemon was tutored before you met the party, I could allow that. 2.) A sitrus berry could be planted, if your character has purchased the right equipment for it to grow in winter conditions. 3.) The berry would have to be grown and ripened first before you give it to the turtwig and it's been only the first day. Also, if she does hold it, she will eat it when she needs it. |

Got it boss! With the initial 5k, I bought 4 berrys. 2 Sitrus and 2 Lum. I didn't think I could just grab seeds dad had laying around to plant so I did invest a little there. Thought it would be a little OP to go any higher than a tier 2 anyways. On the note of the planter, it specifically states that it ignores weather conditions. Its like a little glass globe (which when you think about it would be a pain to carry. That has to take up almost all the space in Barry's pack). Its also treated like a +1 for yield, so that helps offset that big negative that those tier 2s get. But yes, as to the planting thing, since today is the first day, I will have to wait until the end of "tomorrow" until I can harvest. Sitri just has my second berry currently.
I will have Sitri learn Absorb, spending 1 Tutor Point. That currently leaves her with 1. I do have expanded horizons, but seeing that there's no rush for those points, I'll go ahead and RP that.
On the note of taking space, does John plan to take the ability to make those one locks that store goods in pokeballs? Those would be amazing for putting planters in to save room!

Alright, now that I've had the chance to read through the entire Episode 1 thread and get a better feel for the game and the world so far, I'm thinking I might want to add a bit of a supernatural element to Tori eventually. Maybe aiming for Warper or Shade Caller or something, sometime in the future. Probably not til after level 10 though when I can pick up Elemental Connection as a bonus Edge, and maybe around then she'll encounter a Pokemon with similar powers to inspire her?
Also, given the original party members seem to have had a sort of "chosen one" thing going for them - maybe Tori doesn't know it yet but her path has been guided to the Professor and the party by some sort of trickster spirit that will make itself known later!
As far as how Tori passed the Trial - maybe she snuck in and snatched the "prize" from someone who gave up and left it behind. So the Professor thought that everyone who previously participated had failed or retreated, but then Tori shows up late asking for her License. ;P

I am thinking I'm missing an update or something. Techno has a book on fungus or something that I couldn't find either. I'm still just using the standard 1.05 rule set. On the excell sheet, withdraw mentions the September playtest but I haven't seen that.

Bot have you picked your 2nd Research field yet?
I would recommend General Researcher for it, or pokemon caretaking. You could also take a 2nd Research Class for a total of 4 fields. With General Ed you can get a feature that allows you to use a secondary point pull for binding books so you don't tie up all your AP in books. There are at least 3 books you will be interested in. "How Berries??" , "Caretaker's Manual" , "A field guide to Fungus" and "The Joy of Cooking" all jump out as good for your character. That is ALOT of AP for them, at least 4 for the novice ranks in each. Though the Fungus one may be less useful for you. Look into the playtest general ed field when you can. For what you are building: Mentor / Researcher (Botony / General Ed) / Researcher (Pokemon Caretaking /??) would be real strong
