Finding himself alone, Lowell started drifting through the streets. He hadn't been back in Saffron ever since he started his journey, so everything felt oddly nostalgic.
He headed towards the main shopping area before turning right and looking for one of the few parks that had some wild pokemon presence. Saffron wasn't really good for bug catching from what he remembered, but he had some hopes that thing might have changed since then.
Plus he needed to burn some time and wait for his parents to arrive home from their jobs before dropping by to say hi.

Oh right, they could do that. Jane hadn't dealt much with psychic pokémon for a looong while. Concentrating and with a nod she replied, or at least tried. "Yes! I enjoy shows, both performing and watching."
"I'm Jane." she added both verbally and mentally. With a smile she continued "Would love to do another performance. I must admit that I'm also challenging the Gym League. Interested in either?"

Mr. Mime says that it has never really battled before, but with some practice, it could turn it into a grand performance. Plus, aiding in the defeat of a Gym Leader could also be great for publicity.
Mr. Mime agrees to join up with Jane! It is Male, level 37, Brave, with Soundproof and Technician.

The Mr. Mime has not been given a "human" name. Pokemon don't identify one another by such. It understands that some humans do that though.
Lowell
The park is mostly as you remember it. A small bit of green in the city. There are the usual urban pokemon roaming about, such as Pidgey and Rattata, but not much else. There are some people just sitting on a bench or in the grass enjoying the view/relaxing.

After spending a little more time chatting with her new pokémon she decides to wander around a bit more and look for a trainer battle. Preferably something more casual then Zapdos dunking! And Fluffy needed some training ...

Lowell laid down in the grass and spent some time just looking at the clouds. He hadn't seen any bugs, so being lazy sounded as great a plan as anything.

With that, Janice put up her face cloth, the word TRUTH now emblazoned across her mouth as she turned and stalked away, Yzope darting around behind her and chirping like a excitable five headed baby bird in an echo chamber without walls. Besides, she really should go check out the local Gym... The Saffron Gym is fairly plain. Just inside, there is a large group of people in the classic martial arts gi all practicing their techniques. Seems like it's a martial arts class of some kind. Another person standing near the door greets Jance/Aurora. "Are you here for classes or the Gym Challenge?" |

"We normally recommend a Trainer has four badges before challenging us, but you are free to make the attempt anyway. Once you get past me. Defeat me, and I'll explain the Gym Gauntlet that is part of the challenge. We will use just one Pokemon each."

Finishing his rest, Lowell climbed to his feet and checked the time. He still had some hours before he had to meet up with the others, so he decided to find a trainer match somewhere.

Oh well. Jane sighed. It was starting to dawn on her that today wouldn't be a great day for battles. A less stubborn person might have realized it after the first battle, but now even she got the message.
After handing over a bit of her (currently very meagre) funds and visiting the pokécenter a second time for the day she settled for simply taking a pleasant walk around town with her dowsing rod. She had plenty of stuff to think about and having a few more shards never hurt!

Janice gave a grim little chuckle, tossing a pokeball up and down in her hand. "Well, then. I might as well see what I can do here. Zeitgeist, come out and play." She finished, punctuating her command with a toss of the Pokeball. The Xatu appeared as Janice returned Yzope to its Pokeball, cracking her neckand taking a book out of her bag. "Got a venue, or are we just doing this here?"

As she wandered around collecting shards Jane figured she might as well keep her eyes open for wild pokemon. Could never meet enough of those!

A Meowth! Jane spotted the cat pokemon. She squinted at the cats neck, just checking for a collar or something, just in case. Wouldn't want to cat-nap someone's pet! (Even it it seemed irresponsible to let it wander.)

No visible collar, and it's kinda scruffy looking to be a pet. It must be Wild, then. Jane thinks she's heard of gangs of "alley Meowths" that hang out in big cities like Saffron/Celadon.

Having completed a number of training duels near the Gym, Song entered to observe any challengers. She was allowed entry without hassle. It even seemed that some of the gate trainers spoke to her as personal acquaintances. Song gave a small smile and nod to Janice as she stood to the side of the arena to watch.
