"Well, it's like Orin said; we're not out for a walk today. Whichever path has more interesting Pokemon, I'm voting for." Shielding her eyes from the few sunbeams coming through the canopy, Jamie looks around for any signs that would give an indicator for pokemon living near the path or in the woods.

infomantis One clear sign would be the head of a Sentreet, poking above the waist-high grass, looking back and forth, before ducking back down, and rustling a few meters, and popping back up again. It seemed to be keeping an eye on them. On the right, a ratata was in the middle of the road, skittering back and forth, occasionally ducking into the grass. The woods, as always, where likely chock-full of snakes, but they where silent as ever, a distinct lack of bird-cries in the air.

After studying the environs, Jamie sighed. More snakes, of course. She couldn't wait to get into some actual bug-filled woods, with actual bugs. Probably would want to get a bigger net first. "Well, unless any of you want to beat up some Ekans, right seems like the best option for now." Speedy was watching the Sentret with interest, but with Jamie turning and starting down the path to the right, his gaze moved on to other things.

"I believe we move then." The group moves forward through the tall grass.

Skylar seemed to be more interested in the Sentret than his surroundings, as his two older companions began to walk to the right, he waved to the Pokemon before following right behind them. He wasn't paying much attention to the road ahead of him, but he had Scuttle still on the top of his head. "Keep an eye out girl, you got better eyesight than me at the moment~" He said with a small chuckle.

The road would curve, off to the left. brushing up against the grass on the sides, a surprised squeak of a bug would cry out, and the party would find themselves under attack! By a stringshot.

Skylar stood still for a moment, as he felt some sort of sticky web fall on him. His eyes widened a bit, his hands shaking softly as he cautiously touched his braid, before letting out a scream. "OH GOD NO ITS IN MY HAIR, NO NO NO THIS IS NOT OKAY!" He yelled, freaking out as he desperately wiggled around to grab a brush and try and remove it. Poor Scuttle on the other hand was startled as well, and responded by hastily crawling off his head, and fired off her own stringshot in the direction of the attack.

Orin saw something coming at him but was powerless to do anything about it. The gooey threads struck him, and at first, it seemed like a laughable attack. The impact was light, didn't even cause his footing to stagger, but that turned out to be just the problem. When he tried to turn left and right, Orin's feet felt gummy, like an old movie theatre floor.
"Rook, be ready, at least more than one thin is out there, and they are watching us. I sure they'll show themselves soon enough."
Rook wasn't fond of the string shot either, but at least his hat was still on his head, and he didn't have any fingers to get stuck together either. Should any non team member show itself, Rook had a Fury Cutter locked and loaded, just for them.

Jamie recoils from the thread, but reacts too late to dodge and is struck by the sticky strands. This had happened before to her from her previous bug-catching attempts, but the feeling of restriction never got any less bad. At the attack, Speedy immediately jumped off and hit the ground running towards the caterpie before ramming it, dragging the attached Jamie a bit towards the bug as well thanks to the threads.

Speedy is the only one so far to successfully hit the bug, with a damaging attack, the caterpie is still shaken from the surprise it'd receved is knocked off it's tall blade of grass. It'd squeak angrily, it's little body shaking in rage, it tries to tackle speedy in return. IW3JR7Uj1d20 AC 2 1d8+131d20·1d8+13

Scuttle saw one of its kind try to attack the pokemon know as Speedy. Finally, Skylar had gotten his brush and began to undo his braid. "Scuttle, tackle it!" He called out, regaining his composer before brushing his long hair, trying to get the web-like fluid out of it. The bug let out a small battle cry as she ran into the grass to tackle.

The bug would be sent back, into the grass, the bent stalks betraying it's position. It was still active, up and ready to fight.

Speedy bounces backwards towards Jamie from the impact, and immediately curls up into a chittering defensive ball, trying to keep an eye out for any further attacks. That attack had hit a lot harder than the bug had expected it to, and he wasn't going to faint before the fight was over if he could help it! Defense Curl
Taking over the offensive duties for Speedy, Jamie lobs a Pokeball at the Caterpie before it attacks again. "There's more of them, Orin? Geeze, I liked it more when we could just walk up to the bugs and catch them without any hassle, y'know?"

infomantisThe caterpie was in no position to move out of the way, nevermind the complex ninjacrobatics required to evade a pokeball from a capture specialist. For a moment, you wonder if the ball acuially was working, after the caterpie was sucked it, it didn't even give a wobble. A few tense seconds later, and you hear the click. Well, that was odd. Pokemon captured! Stats are in the discord. Speedy gains 5 exp! Scuttle gains 5 exp! Rook gains 5 exp!

Jamie waits a few seconds, alternating between looking around and focusing on the strangely inactive Pokeball. Finally, she untenses a bit and walks forwards to pick up the Pokeball, picking off stray strands of threads as she does so. "So, what was that about more pokemon around here again? I think you might be getting a bit jumpy, the woods aren't all THAT bad you know." Speedy clearly doesn't share her opinion and remains curled up, still looking out for any other sudden attacks.

Picking at the string, "I didn't think one bug could cover that much range."
Looking at Skylar fussing with his hair, "you OK there? Shold we move forward?"

The woods, as usual, are oddly quiet, like the whole of the woods was holding it's breath. A short ways down the path, was a small field of waist high grass, about 10x10 meters in size, a few sentreet poking about, only visibly by the tops of the heads when they stood on the tails to look about, the grass rustling here and there elsewhere, signs of shorter foraging pokemon.

Skylar finally had finished brushing the last of his hair, the remaining goop was discarded onto the dirt floor. "Right... that's done." He said to himself with a small sigh, as he reached into his pocket for a hairtie. Quickly grabbing the end, he neatly tied it up into a sailor's knot before dusting himself off. "Right, I'm ready to go." He said as he grabbed Scuttle and placed her on his shoulder.

Aipom rejoins the group unseen, as Orin noticed the rustling in the grass ahead. Turning back he spoke in hushed tones, "there's a clearing up ahead, and there looks to be some pokemon milling about."

TazukieThe monkey happened to have brought a gift! A berry, the last uneaten survivor of it's latest snack, the pecha was bright and pink.
