Jamie looked down at the sliced Caterpie. She... was very glad none of the guts had gotten on her. Very glad. Looking back at Orin, she spoke. "Well, assuming you're not eating Caterpie, and I'm not letting you, and ALSO assuming you didn't grab anything from one of our houses back in town, there's probably just some berries. I'll help search, I'm getting a bit hungry myself."

Looking around, there was little in the way of obvious food. The berries that where on the bushes earlier where of a kind toxic to humans, to say nothing of the... dubious nutritional value. The wild pokemon about where of the mot obvious source of food, but alas: That would require cooking. Between the two of them, however, they'd find a few small mushrooms, though the edibility of them was likewise questionable.
found 4x small mushroom!

Taking some of the suspicious berries, and a mushroom; Orin called out the Aipom. "Not sure if any of these are good for you, you might know better. Just wanted to welcome you to the team, thought you might be hungry."
He bags another of the small mushrooms.

Skylar wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings, he was off in his own little world again. His little daze was only broken by the sound of his Caterpie squealing in fear, as it watched another of its kind get sliced by an item. Instantly the bug scurried down his shirt, and began to quiver near his chest. "H-h-hey girl!? What's gotten into you!?" He exclaimed, as he wiggled in his own seat, trying to fetch the Caterpie. When he managed to fetch her out, the bug simply took a look at Rook and curled up in her trainer's hand. "Aww my little Scuttle... its okay, I'm here." He cooed softly as he tried to calm down his Pokemon.

"Well, that was a bust." Jamie says as she plucks a second mushroom off of a root to join the first in her bag. "No food for us, so we may as well keep going. I'd say we've dawdled enough around here, eh?" She looks over to Skylar as she pulls out Spike's ball and recalls her. "Might help to calm your pal down if we start moving? I'm guessing you're more of an expert on that than me though."

TazukieYou all soon arrive at the entrance to the Winding Path. The road carves it's way into the woods, but only barely. At either side, for two meters the grass is immediately waist high, and difficult to wade through: The forest's attempt at reclaiming what once was it's. Immediately beyond, the thick trees tower, blocking out most light, though you can still see a somewhat decent ways in front of you. Almost immediately into the woods, and you can spot a shortcut: A fallen tree has pushed back some of the others, and the road is clear on the other side: all it would require is maybe five meters of grass wadeing. Due to your survival skills, you can see that the reason why the path curved so harshly around this one area is a a line of very sizeable trees: it'd take much too much effort to cut them, and the ground benieth is ruined with roots, though a person could easily squeeze through: This road is made to be accessible by cart, if not small motorized vehicles.

Jamie stops and looks upward, taking in the sight of the trees. AS much as she loves the forest, she does sometimes wonder why people went and built a town in the very center of them... not that she's complaining. Looking ahead, she sees the fallen tree. "Well, that's lucky, huh? We'll be at the next town in no time if we jump over the tree. You guys cool with some grass wading, right?"

"I don't mind going through the grass, I got Scuttle and Coatli to protect me~" He said cheerful, as the bug finally began to calm down. She was still weary around Orin, but she kept close enough to Skylar that it wasn't much of an issue.

In truth, Jamie was still a little disappointed that her second off-path adventure looked to be about as long as her first, but she'd manage. Confidently, she starts wading through the grass ahead to the road on the other side.

Rook was well overshadowed by the grass, but with a little difficulty, they all would be able to push through. Avoiding the trees would ensure that they wouldn't be jumped at this juncture, and soon, they'd be back on the road, the path streching to the right, and to the left. Left would lead to the curve, and it would appear, another path into the forest, hidden from sight by the low-arching curves, and thick trees, while right lead deeper along, and towards Beginner Springs.

'That seemed like a lot of hype for nothing,' he thought, part of him wishing that they would have run into a little bit of trouble.
"So it looks like we can keep to the grass, heading right, should take us where we want to go, Beginner Springs, dead ahead!"
To Orin, that seemed like the quickest, most interesting way to go, "Or we could head to the left, looks like it will take us to the cart path," he said with a board tone, inciting his companions to stay in the grass.
Rook stood, striking his fore-blades together to get bits of nature off of them. Aipom was nowhere to be see, 'where did he- gone, made off like a bandit.' Orin unlatched Aipom's pokeball deciding to just recall him, paused, then though better of it, 'let him have his freedom, I'm sure he'll turn up.'
"what say you gang, should we go right?"

Skylar had his new bug friend ride on the top of his head as he followed the group through the grass. Luckily they got through without any troubles. When the path diverged again, he heard Orin talking about wanting to go right towards the next town. It was easy enough to pick up on, so he nodded in agreement. "I'm fine with whatever you guys pick~" He simply responded, more than happy to let the others do the leading.
