First Chell, and now Hura had made the dash into the trapdoor. Nothing visible had happened to them, so Frank hoped it was safe. He told Peter to dash over there and into the door first, and on the next cycle, he sprinted over himself.

One by one, everyone jumps into the trap door into the darkness below before the next lightning strikes. And one by one, you land on the metal floor below. which is maybe only one story below you, which is surprising. A big open one would be bad for the non-fliers though.
The room you enter has it's walls covered in clear tubing, and it becomes immediately clear what they are for when you hear the lightning strike the mountain, and as it's presumably absorbed by that coil above you, you see electricity being filtered from the top, and into these tubes, and they head straight down toward the base of the mountain. As your heads trail down you see that you are in a smallish, almost lab-like room. The only things in this room outside the strange walls is a hole in the middle of the room and five strange devices that whir to life as the lightning moves down in the tubes. They spit out their own arcs of energy of different colors that attach to each other.
But... nothing seems to be immediately trying to murder you.

Midna's hair stands on end as she eventually makes her way past the strange lightning atractor. It didn't look all that safe but the others had made it fine and she wasn't going to be left out entirely.
Her first glance at the lab room is met with further confusion. "Is this...setup familiar with any of you? Why would anyone want to bring all of the lightning here?" She gets a bit closer to one of the objects to take a look at it. Could it be a puzzle...

Not being directly murdered was about the best one could hope for, when leaping into a strange, dark hole, so as far as Hura was concerned everything was going swimmingly. Never mind all the technomalarkey.
As the bug went over to peer down the suspicious hole in the floor, it chattered, "Oh, sure, sure... You mean you don't you recognize the lightning-grabber-majig up top, or these uhh... No, not familiar." Only quiet for a moment, Hura continued jauntily, "But if they're collecting all this lightning, then they probably can't just make it. Or they're an evil bird and they need more..."

"Looks like a Lindbulm contraption." Freya said, hovering nearby one of the machines. So looked around for something small to pick up and throw at one of them. Preferably something that wasn't alive.

Midna takes first steps forward to inspect the machines while Hura goes to inspect the hole. Freya unfortunately doesn't find anything loose to throw, but it quickly becomes the last thing on her mind as the devices begin making a charging sound like they've woken up. The one in the middle takes a shot right at the first to cross the line, Midna! Meanwhile all three that have moved feel light tinges as the one on the far left side of the room begins releasing static shocks to everyone nearby! Thundershock vs Midna! Chell sighs as she sees the interior of the ... mountain. Why do I always end up in labs? As the others, rather carelessly (she sighs and shakes her head as they get zapped by one of the tesla coil thingies) start exploring the room, she takes her time to observe, to take in details and try and figure out what's going on in this place. When's she's finished observing the room, she carefully approaches one of the coils, trying to figure out how it works. "Is that norm-Ah!" Midna starts to ask Freya before a couple of the odd machines spit out a spark of their stored lightning. Fortunately the shock that was actually directed at her was directed away from her by all that fluff. Maybe it was good for something after all....
She backs off a step. "I'll let you handle this then. Unless you think you'll need help disabling these... Linebeck contraption or whatever it is." Whatever was going on here, it wasn't like anything she'd seen in Hyrule. Best to leave it to the others. Too many cooks ruin the soup.

Inspecting closer, Chell finds that the machines look pretty sturdy and could take a few hits, so it won't be super easy to wreck them. She also takes a look at the beams, noticing the three of the same color are all 'feeding' into the front contraption, while the single other beam seems to be coming from that machine in the middle and feeding to your right.
Also it looks like the machines are charging up again, so maybe act quickly!

Midna eyes smaller machines as they begin to charge up for something, "Sounds like it's better than nothing."She does her own small part. She might be diminished but she could still provide some protection to the others. Her ears wiggle and pop and an almost comforting orange glow hangs about the group. Using Light Screen. Gives the party two uses which can be used to resist Special Damage

They were smashing things now? Well, alright. That was fine, but it seemed like a very inelegant solution. On the other hand, smashing things was pretty fun, so what did this beetle care? With a quick "Yippee~", Hura stalked around to the other side of the device that 'Peter' fellow had struck, and clawed at it through the whipping debris. Hura uses Fury Cutter on the central machine. The party hears a loud, heavy crash of steel on steel from behind them... and who else could it be but Norris, finally up from her long, impromptu catnap? Actually, it could've been any number of other folks but that's who it is! She spits out her fancy rock and says "Hi!"
She promptly begins pacing the room corner to corner, for business or pleasure who knows!

Before Freya or Hura get a chance to join in on the party, the machine sputs and splats and falls to pieces in a hump of sand summoned by Frank. The remaining beams switch to each other and all turn yellow to match the one originally on your right. Then, all FOUR of them begin filling the room with more annoying static! It was always the really tiny injuries that hurt the worst. Hura ought to know, given how often he'd had to use them to bring down a superior opponent... Unfortunately, machines were usually pretty difficult to chip away at, so this was actually something of a role reversal? Bah, trash the contraptions and then contemplate that! Tottering over to one of them, the beetle sighed and began the time-honored tradition of "hit the thing until it breaks". Hura uses Fury Cutter on one of the contraptions.
