Olmia Academy. It always seemed far away, like an impossible dream. Defeat was crushing, but this time, there was hope. Trinity. You’d heard the rumors, sure, but they were just rumors. Why would they be interested in Olmia Academy? It seemed so silly, but for one reason or another, you replied. You said yes. Thinking back, you remember the message quite well… After you replied, they said your first mission would be given to you when you arrived at Olmia, but you’ve been standing around for close to twenty minutes. Come to think of it...that guide Olmia Academy promised would show you around on your first day isn’t here yet either...The main lobby is quite comfortable. For once, everything wasn’t covered in the fine powdery dust from all of the mining in Alium. It is quite well-lit, though. Your phone buzzes, interrupting your thoughts. It’s a message from an unrecognized number. Just like when Trinity first contacted you….Looking at the message, it says the following, with a picture attached. In three minutes, a large man comes from down a hallway. Even if you tried, you couldn’t miss him. A yellow pokemon with clawed toes, closed eyes, and brown segments comfortably sits on one of his shoulders. He carries a clipboard and when he approaches you, he smiles, offering his hand “Miss Umbra? It’s a fine day for new beginnings, if I do say so myself.”The man is extremely tall, easily towering over you. Along with being tall, he is ripped with muscles. His hand could easily break yours if he squeezes too hard. Your guide has dark skin and has a bald head. You’re used to the muscles. You aren’t used to the rest. Oddly enough, despite the muscles, he seems to be quite educated. His speech is measured, he wears glasses, and his clothes are quite nice, definitely . His black loafers are shined and he wears a pair of black slacks with a white dress-shirt, green argyle print sweater-vest, and red tie, very different from what you’re used to, even in Cautis.

After the obvious scan to see if her guide was openly displaying the pin, Trista realized just how much taller the man was... What if it was behind his ear, or something? Would I even be able to reach that? When he offered his hand, Trista hesitated before shaking it... Not that he seemed malevolent, just gargantuan. As she shook his hand, Trista tried to (discretely) see what was on the clipboard, it being another obvious spot to "hide" the pin. " ...really?", she asked, " Not too familiar with new beginnings, actually. It was all pretty... samey, back in Cautis. How about you?" Perception (Untrained) 26UoDF7m2d6

Trista immediately sees the pin within moments of seeing the man. It seems the image was still fresh in her mind, as she spots it very quickly on the man’s tie. She also recognizes the image on the pin as Trinity’s logo. She hadn’t seen it much, but she’d seen it connected to some of the rumors of Trinity. Trista also recognizes the pokemon as an Abra. It and the rest of it’s evolutions are sometimes used to help move rubble after cave-ins.
As the man speaks, you can hear a slight Aliumite accent in his voice. When you lean over to see what’s on the clipboard, though, you only see some notes about your basic information. It isn’t anything you wouldn’t know or find out anyway.
The man chuckles, smiling at you. “Ah Cautis. It was quite normally there, yes. I’m from Specus, myself. Alium is not as interesting as say, Clarus or Impero, but it provided me with a warmth and kindness I would never trade away. Let us depart, shall we?”
He starts walking towards a door, and opens it for you as you approach. Upon entering the room, you find yourself in a large and open space, except for the stage in front of you. Even though you aren’t the most well versed in contests, you’re sure they usually look more...regal. In fact, from the glances you’ve had at the Cautis Contest Hall. The room is sparse and without many decorations. The curtains are a deep blue with snowflakes embroidered on them, but there isn’t much else making it “pretty”.
“This is the stage. It is used often in Drama club and also for contests, of course. It isn’t the best looking, I’m afraid, but it is functional.” He explains, turning and starting to lead you out.

Right on his tie? Is it a trick... Maybe he's just waiting for me to try to take it, before he uses those enormous muscles of his... And what's that Abra for? Is it just another set of eyes? It doesn't look very threat- wait, is it even awake? No, need to focus, get the pin..., Trista thought to herself frantically as soon as she registered the pin on his tie. In the midst of her monologue, she almost missed what her guide said next, only managing to add a weak, " Haven't been outside Cautis m- hey!", before catching up in time to enter the next room. " I’m surprised that nobody’s bothered to make it prettier… Is it that the students aren’t allowed to, or they just don’t want to? Or maybe they’re too busy fighting over what to do, and there’s never any opportunity to make it better?, Trista asks, sighing at the end, before thinking of how to take the guide’s pin… It would be best to take it as soon as I can, especially if Trinity is watching… And which skills do they mean? Do they want to see me take it as covertly as possible, or... those other skills?Trying to sound curious, Trista asked, “ So… were you ever in the contest circuit, or did you prefer fighting for badges when you attended Olmia… sir?” Intuition (Untrained) WSAmNIu22d6

Your guide answers your questions as you walk, trying to move you from room to room quickly. “The contest hall is decorated for each event separately, but we leave it blank so it’s easier to put up decorations each time we need to put up said decorations. It’s also left empty so students can decorate for any performance, be it a speech or a play.”
He walks you into a large gym. The room has lots of equipment, including weapons, items, ropes, obstacles, and much more. Clearly, there is a focus on fitness here, as it looks quite well used, but in good condition.
“Please, just call me Mr. Adams. Sir is far too formal. When I was here, I spent all my time in this gym here. While, it isn’t perfect, it’s quite useful, and one of the better gyms I’ve had the pleasure of spending my time in.” He explains.

If I can get him to look away, maybe I could knock the pin right off his tie? ...But what if I miss? Would they rather I try it, and miss, or do something safer? And what if that Abra is there to see how I respond to the pressure?! It would be poor form to hit him first, though, he isn't actually hurting anything... And he might actually be sleeping, and I'm just thinking about it too hard... Maybe I should try something else first, after all? After her internal debate, Trista follows up with another question, " Only one of the best? Where would you say is your favourite gym, Mr. Adams?", paying close attention to her guide to see if his attention remains on her. While the guide is talking, Trista moves forward as if to get ahead of him, before tripping herself as convincingly as possible, and trying to bring Mr. Adams down with her. “Gyms? Do you mean in the fitness sense, or for Pokemon? Alium has some amazing gyms either way and woah!” As you attempt to trip him, he does a combat roll over you, and smoothly gets back on his feet. You can tell he’s done this before.
As the man rolls, the Abra teleports into your arms after you hit the ground. You feel that it's still very limp, as if it's sleeping. Then it starts to stir. Within a minute, you can feel the thing become fully awake and even cries. "Waaah"
He offers a hand to you. “Are you alright? Do you need to visit Nurse Joy?” He asks you, as you sit on the ground in front of the stairs. He picks up the Abra, and it makes the same noise, this time more high-pitched. "Athena, are you alright?" The pokemon once again makes the noise.

...what? How did he- he's more agile than he looks... And that poor Abra! I didn't mean to scare it!, Trista though, as she looked for a new angle to exploit. As your shadow begins to let the attack fly, you instantly realize you let loose with a little too much force. You watch, even cringing a little, as your shadow hits the man in the throat. He seems hurt, but not by much. The hit does knock the pin on the ground, though, right next to you.
“My..that was odd! I feel as though I was hit, but of course, I wasn’t.” He quickly returns to being good-natured, though. “I come from a bit of a different background, but I suppose you could learn, yes.” He chuckles.

I think I just dodged a big bullet, there... What if he- wait, the Abra is awake!, Trista though in a panic, even more suspicious of what the Abra migh be capable of... Telepathy would be bad, and it was clearly a telephone porter. Not that it mattered, now... All she had to do was secure the objective, and she would be done! Maybe she would wear the pin, as a trophy? ...a trophy for assaulting such a nice, even-tempered guide as Mr. Adams, even if he was some sort of bookish warrior-guy! " That would be incredible! I've always admired those really agile athletes... Maybe there'll be classes to help me be less clumsy?", Trista agrees, then asks, " So... Where are we off to next, Mr. Adams?" If Mr. Adams leaves first, Trista will quickly duck down to grab the pin, before continuing on as normal. If he, gentleman that he is, waits for Trista to leave first, she will, before exclaiming that she must have dropped her phone when she fell, then returning to the gym and securing the pin. Guile (Novice) to bluff about the phone, if necessary. zlYub1bn3d6

The man laughs. “I’m sure there will be, Miss Umbra! We’ll be going up to the next floor, then continuing on to the third and fourth floors respectively.”
He waits for you to get up, then starts leading the way upstairs. You tell him about your phone, then he waits for you to return while he stands on the stairs.
As soon as you pick up the pin off of the floor, your phone buzzes.
What an odd message. You continue on, and he points out the second floor classrooms. He also leads you into a large room, which he points out is the library.
The library is quite large with tables, bookcases, and the latest in computing technology. One of them even has a fancy holographic screen! You’ve only read about those in books! A small office sits off to the size, and you can guess this is where the librarian’s office is.
“If you ever need to find me, this is usually where I am. I’m the librarian, so if you ever need a book, I’m who you should ask.” He looks at a note left on his desk. “Hmm...One of my colleagues checked out “Love & Hate” again...I suggested she should buy her own personal copy, but she said that she keeps losing it.” He sighs.
“Shall we continue?”

He's that quick, but all he does is read books? Is he that skilled... Are all of Trinity's people that awesome? How am I supposed to live up to that?, Trista thought as she read the message, after a moment of horror at almost upsetting... whoever sent the message. She didn't want to make her benefactors angry! Does that mean it was good that I didn't trip Mr. Adams?, she thought, as she put the phone away. Before returning to her tour, she fastens the Trinity pin to her shirt, hoping it was as obscure a symbol as she thought it was.
Trista was pretty impressed by the size of the library... then intimidated by all the very expensive-looking computers. Maybe don't touch those... Or look at them. I can't break it if I don't even think about it, can I? In retrospect, Mr. Adams being the librarian should have been kind of obvious... It would explain why he was so bookish. While she didn’t have any questions about the library (except “How much did that fancy holographic computer that I absolutely must never touch cost?” ...but something made that seem like a bad idea), it didn’t seem very polite to not respond. Since she was in the library already, though… “Umm… Actually, do you have any books on Pokemon Caretaking? I’m kind of… nervous... about taking care of the one Olmia is providing.”, she asks, pauses, and then hurriedly adds, “I don’t need it right now, of course! We’ve still got the rest of that tour to finish, I’ve taken more than enough of your time… right?”
Staring intently at the floor, she mutters, “Sorry, where next, sir?”

“Oh of course.” Mr. Adams replies. “We even have specialized books for certain lines of Pokemon. After you get your starter, you can come back, and I can help you find something.”
“Next, we’ll be moving upstairs.” He says, moving out of the room.
He walks up to the next floor, and simply says, “This floor is just classrooms. Let’s move on.” On the next floor, though, he points to a room on the left. “That’s the rec room. Many clubs use that as a club-house, and you can also just use it as a place to relax. Next to that, there’s the staff breakroom. ” He points to the right. “There are some offices and staff bathrooms over there, along with the Elite Four and High Coordinator’s office for when they visit the school.” He points behind you. “And behind us, is the cafeteria.” He starts to lead you back down the stairs, explaining as he does. “You’ll be getting your starter now. I hope it’s to your liking!”
Back on the ground floor, your guide goes to a set of double doors, and unlocks them. After passing through those, he pushes another set of double doors open. You see a white and sterile room. People in labcoats mill about, dodging stainless steel tables and beakers. On the table in front of you sits a backpack and a single pokeball.
“Please release your starter, so we can make sure there hasn’t been a mistake made.”

It certainly made sense that Olmia would have plenty of Pokemon Caretaking books, Trista supposed, following Mr. Adams to the other destinations. She couldn't have been the only student that was completely new caring for them. She was also glad he glossed over the classrooms; she expected to be spending far more time in them than she would like soon enough. She just hoped they weren't very tech-centric classes.
When Trista entered the lab room, her first thought was about how stark it looked. And that the brilliant white colour scheme was very annoying, making her feel like she stood out. She hoped to be done in here quickly. Taking the pokeball, she fumbles it around for a moment, before accidentally pressing the release button, and exclaiming in shock as the ball opened unexpectedly. Hoping the technicians didn't notice her outburst, she inspected her new Pokemon with no small amount of excitement.

You caught a Porygon! Everything in your bag is the stuff you already have in your inventory that the school gives out, like the Pokedex and Pokeballs, so don't worry about adding it. Upon being released, your Porygon just stares at you. Then, it begins going through your bag. It stops when it finds your newly acquired Pokedex. You don’t even get to try it out before it touches one of the ports and digitizes itself. You look over the screen, and you see several panels open, all filled with code you don’t understand. After a minute or two, the Porygon pops back out of the Pokedex, and chirps with delight. Looking over the device, you can see that it has been changed a bit. You look in the “Caught Pokemon” list, and Porygon has been listed as “Caught”. You have gotten 1 Dex XP for Porygon! Your Porygon then waddles over to one of the lab computers, and before anyone can stop it, the Porygon interfaces with the computer. It systematically hops between computers, messing things up on each. Scientists seem to bang things out on their keyboards in response, and some even go as far as unplugging cables. The Porygon doesn’t leave, though. “Miss, please control your Porygon! Get it out! It’s messing with our research!” One of the scientists says worriedly.

Rather intimidated by the Porygon's natural inclination towards the Pokedex and laboratory computers, Trista was actually grateful it had so easily handled that initial registration... that was what it just did, right?
As much as she wanted to thank it though, now that it was tampering with all the scientists' research... it would probably set a bad precedent to congratulate it just now, and letting something that tech-savvy have free reign wouldn't do, in the long run. "Okay, you've had your fun, but unless you want to stay with these guys forever, you'd better come back out.", Trista warned the Porygon, "Mr. Adams won't let us goof off here much longer... and I don't know if I'll be allowed back in here."
Hoping her implied threat worked (she wouldn't want to stay with all these scientists!), Trista does her best to ignore the trouble-making Porygon as she takes her new backpack and unoccupied Pokeball. Turning to Mr. Adams, she asks, "Alright, sir! Where are we going next?".

Mr. Adams, winks and you can tell he understands what you’re getting at.
“We’ll be going outside, to look at your dorms, Miss Umbra.” The man says, loudly, starting to lead you out of the room. Suddenly, you hear chirping. As you turn, you see your Porygon scrambling out of one of the computers and levitating over to you. It chirps again, then floats into your arms. It seems to want praise.
“I knew you’d understand. You all tend to be smart little buggers.” Mr. Adams says before giving your Porygon a friendly pat on the head.
He leads you out of the room, locking the doors as you leave. After exiting the building, you feel the cold of Olmia. Alium could get quite cold, especially in the caves, so it wouldn’t take much to adjust.
“Here is the Training facilities! For a fee of $500, the on-staff Trainers will train up to six Pokemon there.” He points out a blue building with white lettering on it, then moves to point at a similar building. “That one is the Grooming facilities. You can leave your Pokemon to be groomed there while you take classes or do other activities.”
He leads you to a large building, and knocks on the door. A tall girl with short brown hair stands before you. She has brown eyes and freckles, and looks quite...normal. She has on a pair of black shorts and a plain white shirt.
"Yo.” She answers.
“This is Trista Umbra, she’s in this building.”
“Sounds good! C’mon in, girl!” The girl says, then ushers you in.
The room is large, but quite quaint. There’s a small kitchenette off to the side with a bar style counter-top and stools. Further in the room is a large seating area with couches, recliners, and a fireplace. Above the fireplace is a large television, and next to the fireplace is a singular holographic computer. Lamps and tasteful throw blankets adorn the room, but it has mostly been left empty to allow the students to decorate. A bunch of suitcases litter the room. There’s a hallway on the left that you assume leads to the rooms.
“This is Trista everyone! Now, everybody say hi, and be nice!” The girl says.
Looking over the second girl, you can tell she’s kind of the mousey type. Glasses, long blonde hair, conservative clothes; the usual. Perhaps you could get along with her well? She has on an oversized, grey, cable-knit sweater and some black ombre leggings that fade to grey.
The fourth girl caught your attention, if not only because of her chest but because of the smile on her face and her tan skin. She simply has on a lime green jacket and a pair of jeans. She seems very upbeat and positive. That might grate on you after a while.
The third girl, looks very pretty, and is probably rich. The girl wore a double-breasted white blazer, with black detailing and red trim. At the ends of the sleeves, there lacy ruffles. Under that, she wore a gray blouse with a red piece of fabric around the collar. She wears a very short blue skirt and white thigh-highs. Her silver hair is up in twintails and a small beret finishes off the outfit.
The other three girls murmur a bit, but don’t really say much. They’re probably waiting on you.

Absently petting the Porygon after they leave the lab, Trista says to it, "Sorry we had to trick you! It's just that those boring research-guys were making such a fuss. It's good that you have a sense of humour, though. Maybe we'll find something for you to play with, later?", then as they walk outside, "Hope you don't mind the cold... Umm... Let me know if you want to go back to your ball, I guess?", she offers. She would have to get a book on Porygon care soon, she thought again. Especially if it was determined to be a miscreant.
Apparently unable to simply hide from the introductions, Trista... Wasn't sure what to do. They had never been her strong point. And being watched so closely was definitely a weak point. Drawing a blank on just what to say, she mumbles a quick "Thought she said to say hello, first-", before wondering if they could hear and quickly blurting out a token "Hello and nice to meet you all, I'm from Alium!". She hoped her Porygon didn't see the computer just yet. Then she wondered which hope would be crushed first, between her being done introductions and the Porygon not causing trouble right now. In hindsight, such an anxious mood wouldn't be doing her any favours...

Your Porygon seems to enjoy the snow, and even shifts color-wise to try and match it. It doesn’t really do a good job, as it turns from different shades of blue, white, and grey, but the effort is appreciated. Almost immediately after walking into the room, your Porygon spots the computer. It chirps, and tries to wiggle out of your arms. The silver haired girl laughs. “Oh you poor thing! What’s it like living in a pile of rubble?”The tan girl gives her a dirty look. “Yuki. That’s no way to introduce yourself!” The silver haired girl just rolls her eyes. “Anywho, my name is Adora. If you need anything around here, I’m who you should talk to.” The tan girl continues. “I’m Anna, and I’m from Asper.” The girl who let you in says. “E-Elizabeth.” The mousey blonde girl says in almost a whisper. “Get comfortable, there’s still time to kill before the big opening speech!” Anna says before throwing herself on one of the chairs. So you’re roughly in the same spot as almost everyone else right now, so I’m gonna hold off here. After your next reply, I’ll reply less often because the next post will be in a group thread. The main thing is keeping everyone in the same point. Basically feel free to chit-chat with the NPCs or do anything that isn’t major. Basically, don’t beat anyone up. If you have questions about what’s major, feel free to ask in the Skype chat.

Surprised that most of the girls were so nice, Trista was a bit embarrassed by her own hesitation. Of course, it wasn't like they would have a reason to be spiteful... Except that "Yuki". It might be safest to avoid her. Feeling the wriggling, Trista whispers to the Porygon, "If you're sure you won't break it, you can play around until we go.".
Since Yuki's question didn't sound like the kind that was supposed to be answered, and Adora seemed far too spontaneous... Maybe she should talk with Elizabeth? If nothing else, maybe she would be able to help with the academic side of Olmia. It certainly wasn't one of Trista's strong points.
Formulating a plan, Trista sets down her Porygon as promised, and follows it until the others lose interest in her, then sneaks up to Elizabeth and asks quietly, "Elizabeth! Where are you from?", hoping to catch her unaware as she does.
