While she cannot see beneath the surface from this angle, despite how clear the water is, Rei does notice that the ball occasionally twitches. Seemingly all on its own.

"Shinpuru, can you go check out that ball? I feel like maybe some child lost it, and a pokemon has it now. Maybe we can get both!"
The little Bidoof takes a look at the water for a moment before splashing in and swimming toward it.

Out of nowhere, the ball suddenly jerks below the surface and a jet of water comes spraying out to strike Shinpuru in the face! It's not a painful one, more like whatever water Pokemon is in there is playing around. The ball returns to the surface again several feet away from its original position.

Rei, and Shinpuru for that matter, both blink a few times in surprise.
"Shinpuru, please don't try to utterly ruin it with your great strength. Just try and chase it over here toward me."
Shinpuru grumbles a bit in the water but complies in no small part due to the compliment. He tries swimming around to the other side, hoping it'll start popping up closer to Rei.

The ball keeps just out of reach of Shinpuru, with whatever it's attached to occasionally spraying him with water from various underwater angles. It's quite hilarious to watch him continuously chase the 'ball' that is obviously a distraction.

Shinpuru continues to chase it, chittering angrily while Rei sighs. Time to change tactics. She releases Duch, and tells the Haunter to go over and try and put the blue creature asleep. Duch phases out, and floats over, and waits for an opportune moment before popping into existence and letting off a Hypnosis! Hypnosis

While it's kinda hard to target it directly, blasting the water with hypnosis waves does the trick and it stops moving.. for all of 5 seconds until Shinpuru catches up and latches onto the tail. The critter wakes up and blasts to the surface, unleashing a stream of exploding bubbles on Shinpuru's back! Init - 6 Bubblebeam AC 2 vs _5C0h2tZ1d20 Lowers Speed on 18+ Damage: 38+16

Rei facepalms as Shinpuru undoes Duch's work. She knows to not even bother ordering Shinpuru when he gets this way. The doof goes for a bigger bite after being blasted! Hyper Fang!

Duch floats the ball back over to Rei, while Shinpuru wades out of the water. Now that the creature is captured, Shinpuru knows he can't really be angry at it any longer. Instead he looks out to the water, and shakes the water off, all while wondering what a steel Bidoof dam would look like.
Rei just shakes her head at Shinpuru's actions, and decides to do a little more searching before heading back.

Just as Rei turns around, something is blown into her face by the wind! Peeling it off reveals a pink Pokemon that seems to be getting blown about by the strong winds.

Rei 'eeps' as she's surprised by the pink thing flying in her face. However, she reacts quickly to catch it, seeing as it's powerless to the heavy wind. She turns to block the wind with her body, hoping to give it a breather.
"Well hello there, cutie! Was the wind not treating you right and blowing you about?"

"Hoppip!" It chirps, glad to not be completely helpless in the strong gusts. Based on its light body and tiny limbs, seems like being blown about like a seed is its main mode of transportation, but the winds on the flat plain are a bit too strong for it at times.
