Ready yourself for combat, and I will do the same."Shinpuru nods and both him and Rei do their respective dances. First, Shinpuru does a war dance, and looks that much more deadly. And then Rei spins around, looking that much more defensive. Tiebreaker for Shinpuru/Maya

The 'Big Mouth' seems unconcerned as it stomps the ground, causing both Rei and Shinpuru to wobble a bit on their feet.

While her foes are still off-balance, Maya takes aim once again and sends another arrow down the field, aiming for what seems to be a weak point in Rei's defenses.

As Rei finishes her dance, Maya lets loose an arrow that hits something vital, and Rei falls, bleeding. Shinpuru is NOT happy about this. The Bidoof rushes for the archer, teeth bared! Shinpuru Tackles the Archer!

"ENOUGH! This match is over! Maya, weapon down and recall your Pokemon!"
Shinpuru watches, probably confused and angry (that it didn't get to rip the human that hurt its human apart) as Maya drops her weapon and recalls her Pokemon. Sorra quickly performs emergency first aid to stabilize Rei as she carts her off to the infirmary.
Approximately half a day later....
Rei slowly opens her eyes... to discover she is not in the arena anymore, and her left shoulder feels like shit.
(Rei gains 2 xp for surviving what could easily have been a fatal injury. Rei's party gains 30 Poke XP.)

Rei looks up and sees the cute bird. Raido gets a little skittish, as something in the grass-types mind says 'DANGER DANGER'. Maybe it's the colors. Rei lays a hand on Raido to calm him down. "It's ok Raido, I won't let it harm you."Rei looks up to it. Shinpuru makes a defensive stance on Raido's head. "Well hello there pretty bird! Aren't you cute!"Rei holds out her hand, hoping it'd come down. Charm!

Shinpuru smacks the bird, and sends it reeling. Rei looks in shock to her Bidoof. "Shinpuru, really! The poor thing was just hungry, and it didn't hurt enough to warrant that kind of reaction!"Rei looks in her pack for one of her Apricorn balls. Hopefully she can catch it and heal/feed it and apologize. Pokeball!

After the ball drops, and the capture confirmed, Rei sighs in relief. She hops off of Raido, and collects the ball as well as the missed one. She then re-mounts, and looks to Shinpuru. The previously bloodthirsty death-doof looks a little sheepish now. "Shinpuru, I know you wanted a fight since we walked into the Steel branch's arena. Especially when Maya took her bow to me. But that doesn't mean you can go around striking pokemon."
She holds up her hand, which has a small welt on it. "This is hardly an arrow."Shinpuru chitters out an apology. "But if you want to get a real fight, we'll find one. Raido, lets take a look around the city."Raido, now with the (fire?) bird threat gone, trots along back into Saffron. Rei takes out her box of medications and finds something to apply to the welt. 2 ap for First Aid

After a good deal of searching, Rei finds a woman willing to battle with her. She introduces herself as "Ace Beauty Melisandra", and says she'll one day be the most popular Trainer in the land. Once the pair have found a suitable location, Melisandra sends out her first Pokemon: a weird, brown lizard with black stripes on its body.
Init - 19
Melisandra uses Brutal Training and commands her 'Sandile' to use Bite.

Rei doesn't quite get the 'ace' in her title, but happily agrees to the match regardless. She hops off Raido, choosing him first for the battle. Shinpuru almost charges into battle himself, but Rei decides to hold her warrior back for the second choice. She also makes a mental note of the pokemon Melisandra sent out. "Raido, you've learned something new right? Use that."
The Skiddo summons a grassy vine and brings it down on the 'Sandile'. Raido - 24
Rei spends 1 ap to take a record of the Sandile. She then uses Agility Orders!

Melisandra switches out her Sandile for a new lizard-like Pokemon. This one is green and yellow with a jagged, red stripe on its belly. The new Pokemon moves faster than expected to strike Raido first!

The attack misses the quicker Raido, and Rei also gives an observation to the new pokemon as well. "Raido, you've got this. Keeping using what you did. It seemed to rattle her the first time."Raido nods, seems to absorb something from the nearby grasses and launches a flurry of whips! Rei also spends 1 ap to record the Kecleon.
Rei continues to use Agility training.
Raido first uses Grass Pelt as a swift action to gain 2 ticks of hp!
Raido uses Vine Whip three (Hopefully) times!

Melisandra is clearly livid that your 'ugly goat' destroyed her lizard so fast. She sends the Sandile back out and commands it to "BURN THAT UGLY THING TO THE GROUND!"
Sandile eagerly leaps into the fray, fangs sheathed with flame.
